SEC should just go whole hog and invite 10 southern schools in ACC and become 24-team conference - a bigger, badder southeastern conference. Florida, Georgia, and SC would join Miami, GT, Clemson, 4 NC schools, and 2 VA schools in a 12-team eastern "atlantic coast" conference and FSU would move west. Of course this would only work with an SEC network. That's the real big bang and would also be checkmate for all remaining conference expansion. Western conference would be a behemoth in football, and the east a monster in basketball. Big Ten would be left with Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College and Uconn in the Northeast. ND would stay independent and join the Catholic 7 in their new basketball conference. Big XII would be left with with Louisville and Cincinnati.

@John at MrSEC @sojourner But doesn't the SEC require the grant of media rights for a number of years and the ACC doesn't? Amounts to the same thing if they do.
