@ericstafford that was a rhetorical question. Of course it should.

Thank you for writing this. I've gotten sick and tired of people saying Toronto is all of sudden way better with Rudy gay. The guys shooting has been detrimental, yet fans like jawid argue against it by saying, "so what if he does a lot of a bad thing (missing shots)? That doesn't matter cause I don't want it to."

Does any of this strike other readers as mathematically inconclusive and irresponsible assumption, coupled with a poor understanding of stats?

A few things about the article: Dallas won because Jason Terry, and to a lesser extent, the rest of the mavs shot out of their minds the whole series, along with lebrons pedestrian numbers.
I'm not sure how you arrived at 3 all-star caliber players. I count Lawson, igoudala, faried (more on him in a sec) McGee (based on lakers series and training camp w/nuggets) with gallinari borderline. All-star and all-star caliber are very different in my mind (Carmelo Anthony for example) so that could explain the difference.
Faried, who an efficient scorer and rebounding monster that runs the floor, hopefully should get more minutes. Hopefully. At his current production he is their best player.
Giving all of al Harringtons minutes to igoudala is incredible! Harrington for an old pimento cheese sandwich would be a great trade, but now replace that sandwich with one of the games best SF and it's fantastic!
I like the premise of the article and I think it's conclusions are accurate. The background on defensive changes felt researched, which was refreshing (espn cough cough). I'm definitely looking forward to new articles.
