You should try the real recipe lol. You mix it IN the cup, it may smell a bit, but it's so frickin' delicious!! Especially with the icing it gives the recipe for as well. And Voila! the REAL Cake in a Cup, complements of Gooseberry Patch. :)
Here's one of the recipes it gives. It's fun to mix and match the pudding and cake mixes.
18-1/2 oz. box chocolate cake mix
3-1/2 oz. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix
3 c. powdered sugar, divided
4-1/2 T. hot cocoa mix, divided
2-1/4 t. vanilla powder, divided
Place dry cake mix and pudding mix in a large mixing bowl; mix together. Divide and place 1/2 cup mix in 8 plastic sandwich bags; secure. Tuck one bag in a large mug that will hold at least 1-1/2 cups of water. Because the cake is microwaved, be sure the cup doesn’t have any metal decoration on it. Place 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoons hot cocoa mix and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla powder into plastic sandwich bags; secure with a twist tie and attach to cake bag labeling as glaze mix. Place one bag of cake and glaze mix each mug and attach the following directions to mix: Generously spray inside of coffee mug with non-stick vegetable spray. Empty contents of cake mix bag into each mug and add one egg white, one tablespoon oil and one tablespoon water. Mix until well blended. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. While cake is baking, place glaze mix into a small mixing bowl and add 1-1/2 teaspoons water; mix well. When cake is done, pour glaze over cake in the cup and enjoy while warm. Makes 8 to 9 cake mixes.
That's a bigger recipe, I remember one that you jar as a gift. It's like 1/2 pkg pudding mix, 1/2 cup cake mix (or something, not exactly sure) 1 tbs water, egg white and 1 tbs oil. I'm going to have to find it again when I can get a hold of my mom but now I want to try it again!
