I'm surprised to hear they were running 265's instead of 295's. I just assumed all the unlimited teams were running max sizes at the WTAC.

Wow, independent rear suspension AND a turbo 4 cylinder? My my Ford... Welcome to 1989 finally.

"Our time got better with each run and finally, after a last minute tune, we hit the record-breaking run of 8.3 seconds with a 1.356 seconds 60ft and an exit speed of 281.69km/h (175.03mph).”
What record did they break? Fastest GTR in Europe? Damn quick time for sure, nice work boys.

@SuzyWallace @FunctionFirst It's not so much about speed as it is angle. Long sweepers in particular...

@SuzyWallace @FunctionFirst It is pressure-based, but it doesn't trigger per-se. It's more of a normalization, once volume or oil pressure falls below a set amount it will feed oil into the system and once there's a surplus, or a return to normalization, it will 'siphon' back into the sump. Very cool stuff.

@SuzyWallace In my experience the Accusump will definitely help, I had one with my drag car and it made a big difference in confidence. Canton Racing might even be making a baffled pan for 4G63's now too, they make them for SR20's already. Seriously though, it's not a matter of 'if' you'll spin a bearing on those motors while out on the track, but when. I'd seriously look into at least getting a baffled oil pan Suzy.

Good question, I don't know. Hope to see it one day.

Hope they come back. Seems like teams that have bad luck one year, like the Cyber Evo, end up disappearing the next. Let the hype for next year begin now.

@Jake Laird @apex_DNA @dem00n I challenge the assumption that a rotary is inferior in every way. Properly-built rotaries can run a 5k powerband, something almost no V8's can claim. Fewer running parts, fewer points of failure, etc. However, running, tuning and operating a rotary to run full-tilt takes more skill, commitment and dedication than most people are willing to give.
I think that's part of what's at the heart of the V8 swap hatred, those who are die-hard rotary fans enjoy it for the challenge and the uniqueness of the motor. Swapping a junkyard V8 in an RX-7 is seen as the easy way out.
I don't favor one over the other, but I'm always more interested in rotary motors simply because of the fact that they're so different. That and the sound. Brap Brap fo' life.

@Sam Well, it'll be taken as one.
When I know I can't do something I try it first, if I fail I start again until I get it. I'll pay for professional work when it's truly worth it and is something that's just absolutely beyond me or it needs to meet serious sanctioning body requirements. Meeting safety spec's is worth having an expert do the work.

Do a mild clean-up and straighten out the interior on the Supra. Since you already received such a great deal on it you can clean it up and then flip it for a nice profit. Use the profit from the sale to finally get your crown going with an engine swap worth doing while simultaneously not destroying a soon-to-be classic Japanese car. I think your wife's right, you have too many projects not getting worked on in the first place.
Sometimes our mind runs while our feet are still stationary and the possibilities of what can be done distract us from what we already have.
Best of luck Mike.
