@robertcwellsiii And cardio like running for example also targets your core strengthening those core muscles and ultimately can help define them if done along with other abdominal exercises like for instance crunches or other ab exercises.
@robertcwellsiii Cardio helps your body torch calories and mixing up workouts is key to keeping you in top shape. After doing a certain exercise a bunch of times your body begins to get used to performing this activity and you no longer burn as many calories as you did when you first started. The exercise becomes easier. By mixing up cardio you keep your body challenged.
I would just like to comment that you can have amazing abs or a lot of definition even if you eat sweets now and then and do not cut out dairy or carbs from your diet. For one, I know that i often indulge in sweets or things that would not be considered healthy exactly and just make sure I compensate for those foods eaten with exercise. Although you did not mention doing any other form of exercise in the article. So, I suppose if one did not exercise and wanted to get great abs then this diet may be something someone would have to follow...All in all an interesting article. I think the key to great abdominals is simply mixing up your workouts and eating right. Cardio, like running really helps your abdominals look awesome but ab exercises are needed as well from my experience. But the gist is that eating healthier definitely has some positive effects on your abdominals and entire body for that matter.
This article is on point. Exercise is my release and always, always improves my mood! I am addicted to the endorphin high I get while running :)
Kind of surprised slow-churned ice cream was not included in this article.
Well, this article was interesting. Being a runner and a vegetarian/picky eater, I have never been a true fan of pasta. But after reading this article (and training for a half marathon) I am rethinking my avoidance of pasta. :)Although I will not be eating the white refined kind..:p
@LucianIon I couldn't agree more. Like I said, from experience I can easily say that this article is quite off.
This article honestly sounds like a lazy persons excuse to get out of working out. Being a runner and avid gym goer I would have to say that exercise indefinitely makes an impact on the amount of calories burned, weight, and overall health. Exercise in generally helps to burn calories and maintain your weight or lose weight. I for one am an example. Running leads to weight loss. As do other intense exercises. I think this article is full of it when it goes so far as to say that working out does not have an impact on weight loss. Sure, exercise is not the only area that helps someone lose weight, diet is a big part but I think this article is just an out for someone lazy enough to even try to believe what is said here...There are many contradictory studies out there that would say exercise has an impact on weight loss and other health factors.
