thanks for the post. A couple of points of difference to your recommendations ... we find PDFs turn off media and bloggers because they can't cut and paste the text easily if they need to. Also, including all the contact details up the top of the release can also be a switch off if the reader is still deciding what the topic is and whether its worth reading the release at all.
so journalism is a form of art - and therefore should remain pure and never sell out commercially? I agree, but using the art world as a model, that ultimately relies on government funding!
