@kanoneyez @CeeGiiBorela while yes, Google has been silent, no they aren't silent at the moment. They've lended legal team assistance to Samsung and HTC, and is now having Motorola sue Apple for patents as well when Motorola was silent before. They're doing VERY well at managing behind the scenes.
As I've said a few places. This will either start a Patent Cold War as Dima says above, or be the start of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). Just as choosing a jury for Apple was a Nuke and caused a huge cost to Samsung, this could do the same to Apple.
@BrandonMoore umm, it's the manufacturers that make the technology (GSM standard, Nokia, Motorola. UMTS standard, Samsung ect.) and the carriers that choose to use the technology on their networks. The patenting of these technologies are completely valid.
