@HeyUghWhat @helenablue When Uber is running promos objectifying women with photos such as the France promo, and offers like "get driven around by a woman for 20 minutes," they are maintaining the idea that women exist for men rather than for our own sakes.

I think we're actually in agreement enough.

My original post stated clearly "While I don't think the misogyny at corporate Uber is directly connected to say the disrespectful objectification of me as a female (Ergo interesting and surely interested, in spite of no indicators of interest) passenger, it is all part of the same culture of ick."

From other posts here, it sounds like Uber should perhaps be directly communicating to their contractors not to inquire about the relationship status of passengers, not to flirt, etc. and propose a list of "Reasonable topics," "what brings you to this city?" "How do you like Uber?" etc.

@HeyUghWhat @helenablue I don't want him to get fired. I want Uber to encourage a culture of respect for all human beings, starting from the leadership down to the drivers.

I got a uber the other day and within minutes was asked if I was single/married. Then the driver let me know he planned on looking me up outside of Uber... ungh.

Too little too late but you also want to bring your own bowl, fork, plate, and cup for spirited drinks and free food people give out!  An aluminum prep bowl works pretty well for this, along with an old peanut butter jar or something (lids are your friend).

Also, one of the camps that gives away sno cones used corn plastic! Still has issues, I know, but is burnable and BPA free!
