The long lines make the event unpleasant. I thought the lines were bad the 1st time but definitely worse the 2nd time. Maybe the trucks need to set up earlier and start cooking prior to the start time. After an hour it seems they are unable to catch up. Waiting 1.5 hrs for one frozen hot chocolate is ridiculous! Also not enough seating to rest in between standing in lines. HELP!

Photo #2 looks like @Melissa808 had too much to drink out of the flask she's holiding! LOL I try not to dine much in flourescent lighting either but the food looks yummy. Maybe a take out of suvlaki and hummusi then head to the beach for a nice relaxing meal. I can't wait for the next review. ~ Mahalo!

Yes. I've noticed it too but didn't want to say it. As a consumer, if you don't have a lot of money you kinda wanna make sure you spend it on something you like. I'm up for an adventure but need the basic ingredients to be some of my favs. Ok, I'll say it. Asian and Taco trucks use small chopped up ingredients making it affordable to keep prices low. It's more a matter of who makes good sauce!

If this was my last meal I'd die happy. Wish I could have been there if I wasn't so sick and can't taste anything right now.
From my past pie baking experience the apple tart is by far the most difficult to pull off. The worst thing is it could all just turn to mush in the end. But if that happens just throw a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it and all is forgiven!
That's ok Mari. Isn't it crazy that sometimes food is not always about how great it taste but the great memories you have from it. I guess food for thought is even more important than food for your tummy. I don't care what you like or don't like to eat, I'll still be your friend.

My family doesn't really care for noodles, I guess that's why I have no story. I've developed a taste for it on my own and love to cook it all kinds of ways.

I don't really care for saimin either. It's one of my last choices on the menu when I go out to eat. Or it's my first choice if I feel sick. It's bland and the soup is just salty water. I don't like kamaboko either. I guess I was born to eat ramen!
It's been 6 days since my first@eatgogi experience and thought it was time to try it again. This time I took 2 more friends, actually I wanted to get my 2 free tacos from my twitpic!
I had the pork tacos, pork sliders and creamy kimchee fries. Same thing as last time so I could really compare it. First thing i noticed was that they had brought up the heat about 30% in the creamy kimchee sauce. A little spicy now but not overpowering so you could still taste everything else. Good improvement! But hey, what happened to those nice little cloves of pickled garlic?! My friends were looking forward to it since they saw my pics from the last time. Now that I saw @808marv had kimchee I think we got ripped off.
The group's overall review was still, good. I think the fries are working great with the sprinkling of mild crumbly cheese, kimchee sauce and topping of green onion which makes it seem more like baked potato fries. Yum! But we still miss the pickled garlic which makes it special. Bring this back pleez!! There was no change in the presentation or taste of the tacos or sliders other than hotter sauce. Both were as good as the last time.
I hear there's another taco truck coming in from L.A. so I will stop here for now, but keep 'em coming!
Waah! I'm jealous. I'd love to come along. Have fun and eat a lot of good stuff!

@harrycovair you were right about the lack of utensils. I'm glad it wasn't smothered in sauce so I didn't mind eating with my fingers. Extra napkins is still a must.
@nonstopmari I usually don't like a lot of sauce/dressing on my food so it's usually on the side if I can get it. Sometimes I think lots of sauce may be used as "cover." Pure is good.
I guess the food is still evolving so we must keep trying it.
Ok @nonstopmari you did it again. You made me hungry for@eatgogi and I had to go try it. I've been following the L.A. Taco trucks for the past 2 years so my dreams have kinda come true. I don't have to go to L.A.!
@macgeek808 and I were hungry so we ordered up the Spicy Pork Taco, Pork Sliders. The lovely order taker talked us into an order of Creamy Kim Chee Fries. Sure, why not. I was chicken so I had them put the sauce on the side. The wait was not that long. It was a cool evening and everyone seemed to be in a good mood.
The moment arrived, where to start? The Spicy Pork Taco was the first up. Nicely balanced with crunchy cabbage, tasty grilled pork and sauce that was not over powering. The only downer was that the soft taco wrap did not hold up well and in no time was like a wet piece of cardboard. It wasn't very spicy at all. Did I miss the salsa bar?
Pork Sliders were up next. Ah yes, yummy pieces of bbq grilled pork with crunchy cabbage on a nicely grilled sweet bread roll. All the textures and flavors were wonderful and very satisfying. Strange, but again no heat. Not that I love spicy but I figured Korean + Mexican = FIRE.
My unexpected fav was the Creamy Kim Chee Fries. I was kinda glad that I had the sauce on the side as I like my fries nice and crispy on the outside with soft and fluffy centers. They came out perfect and not greasy! It was dusted with some kind of mild cheese. I'm not sure how this helps the fries but sure made it look nice. The pickled garlic was a nice touch. Crunchy with a hint of garlic flavor. It reminded me of my aunties pickled onions!
Just writing about it is making me want to go back for more. Thanks again @nonstopmari. Keep up the good foodie finds!

I know you are rating cooked, prepared ramen but if you are on a budget but don't want to give up that ramen shop flavor I go to Nijiya Market. They have fresh noodles with their special dashi sauces that are the best I've ever had from a packaged dashi. $3.00 get's you 2 bundles of noodles, you need to cook yourself, then add the dashi to hot water. I was addicted to Goma Tei tan tan at one time but the Nijiya version of tan tan is better. Stronger and more flavorful dashi. Sooo good!
