The Colts were blown out by the JETS last season. i think they will get blown out on Sunday. The big game will be Seattle at home. I like the roster construction on offense for the most part. I like the goal of having a complete team for change. I always wonder what football credentials the bloogers have (coaching, front office etc.). They claim to smarter than everybody else even ex players. I love Big Boy Football.

C'mon four pass plays with 1:45 left is just crazy. The Fins took Reggie Wayne out of the game in the 2nd half. Thank God for Jacksonville. The game against the 49ers will get ugly fast.
1 year, 1 month ago on Film Review: How the Colts failed to gain a yard on their final four plays
The Colts have to be very concern about protecting Luck. Weeden was hit 16 times and sack 6 times last week. The defense has to play better. I like Fullbacks.
1 year, 1 month ago on Hitchhiker's Guide to Colts vs. Dolphins, NFL Week 2
The defense bother me more than anything. if we can't stop Pryor in the read option who can we stop. This is still a young team that was a 7 win team last year( I know they won 11). If Luck gets hurt, we are 4 win team instead of 2. I'm happy with the run game. patience is a virtue.
1 year, 1 month ago on Monday Morning Moaner: Colts vs Raiders
@Nate Dunlevy @Colts fan in Utah The Ravens and 48'ers ran more running plays in the Super Bowl than passing plays. The Green Bay, New Orleans and Old Colts pass happy ratios won't be winning in the near future. Ironically the one Super that the Colts won, they ran for 191 yards. The passing game will get you to a certain but you have to be tough to win a championship. The YPC are that important as long as you take pressure of the QB. I'm happy to see the Colts moving in that direction. I'm happy that you like Canadian football.
1 year, 6 months ago on #CATweetbag: Boo Peyton?
@Colts fan in Utah You are correct. I hope they do run more because I'm concerned about Luck getting hit so often. Pass happy teams win games not Championships. Unfortunately the rules almost dictate that teams throw more. i don't want to see Canadian football in the NFL..
Tennis is my favorite sport but you can't compare it to the NCAA tournament. CBS did the right thing. much ado about nothing.

@Nate Dunlevy @clholland83 The point is that one-legged analogy is an excuse. he was good enough to play one of the most dangerous sports. He was fine or he would not have played.
I don't believe that he had seven good games. I'll have to check PFF.
He may be a better option than Walden. Fact is that the Colts felt was not worth it. It appears that most of teams in the NFL feel the same way. He may have to swallow his pride and take the veterans minimum.
1 year, 7 months ago on Return of the #CATweetbag
@Nate Dunlevy @clholland83 I hate to tell you, but you can't play on one leg. If he was injured he should not have played. A speed rusher on leg leg does not make sense.
I hate when fans makes excuses for overpaid players that passed their prime. I watch the same 17 games that you did. He played well maybe 3 games. He was a detriment plain and simple.
@Nate Dunlevy @clholland83 Look, when PFF has him as the worst FA pick up in the league, you have to wonder what Grigson saw. At least he is a Natural Linebacker. If Walden was same age as Freeney, he would not have been signed. For a guy making 16 million, the passion for the game was not there last year. He'll be lucky to get 2 million in the open market.
@Nate Dunlevy @clholland83 I'm sorry but Freeney is average at best. He is worth 2 million a year, since he made 16 million which is a joke. He can be a part time pass rusher for somebody. Erick Walden is five years younger. I'm not sold on him either.
I heard on XM radio somebody called him double move Landry. I don't consider him a Pro Bowler. He was the best available safety at the moment. The defense should be better.
1 year, 7 months ago on Free Agent Examination - S LaRon Landry.
@andreaallennyc I agree with your assessment 100%. Luck was hit too may times this year. I thought Arians did a great job running the team. I would like to see some more big boy Football (running) to alleviate the pressure on our franchise QB. Offense linemen should be the top two priorities.
1 year, 9 months ago on Colts Monday Musings: Did the Cardinals do the Colts a Favor?
Ironically the Denver Broncos are the team that Polian fail to build in his tenure. I can't see the Ravens being within 17 points of the Broncos. Ravens have to hope that Peyton reverts to his playoff numbers instead of his regular season numbers.
2012 Colts, my favorite Colts team

I have no problems with BA as the OC. He's done a great job attacking the defense. At the moment Allen is better than Fleener. another poster mentioned jonathan Cooper from NC.
I live in the Washngton DC and grew up a Redskins fan and hate to say it but the Redskins are playing great. up 14-0. What's the world coming to ? Dan Synder does not derserve to have good team.
I can't complain about anything. The Colts got the playoff experience that will serve them well in the future. The top three priorities should be OL, OL and DL. they played like rookies today.
@Platinum @Ben Savage @buymymonkey The Denver Broncos are what the 2000-2010 Colts should have been. a solid rushing attack with a very good defense.
1 year, 9 months ago on Colts Monday Musings: ChuckStrong
To anybody who said that Special Teams were not important. You may need to rethink that thought. The Colts played Big Boy football today to close out the game. I have enjoyed this team more than any other that I can remember. This played hard for an entire 60 minutes again. The Colts have a chance to beat the Ravens.
1 year, 9 months ago on Full Recap: Colts Put Away Houston 28-16
@Nate Dunlevy @Kyle Rodriguez @smonroe most former and current NFL players say that pressure is real. I would take their word over any writer/blogger. Peyton has wilted under the pressure in his career.
I guess it was random when the Colts won the Super Bowl in 2006. It will always be more random than Baseball or Football. In theory if you home field advantage you should win the game. The Colts were to dependent on one player.
Peyton is probably more relaxed knowing that he finally has a defense.
1 year, 10 months ago on Eyes in the Backfield: Chiefs
Arians said at his presser after the game that resonated with me. He said that most teams don't played hard the entire 60 minutes, but the Colts have played entire 60 minutes each and every week. We know the team has a ton flaws that Grigson is working on every day. This may be one of my favorite Colts teams of all time. Kansas has more talent than the Colts except at Quarterback. The Colts just need some good offensive and we should be ok. Can the Colts out a deal for the OL from Texas A&M?
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all
1 year, 10 months ago on Full Recap: Dominated but not Defeated, Colts 20, Chiefs 13
@Nate Dunlevy @Kyle Rodriguez @smonroe The league changed in 2002 when the Colts were moved to the AFC south. I'm sure they would not have success if they were facing the Patriots twice a year. Simple mathematics would tell you that it is more random than a NBA basketball format. That's the way football has been from the beginning is and it's not going to change.
any serious football analyst would say that pressure is real. The problem is that Peyton had to play a great game every time since the rest of the team was mediocre. Ironically, the 2012 Denver Broncos may be TEAM he has played on.
@7IHd @smonroe well played my friend, well played. LMAO
@smonroe @7IHd I agree, the Chiefs are close. I guess they have to take Geno Smith in the draft. I saw more drops today than I seen in a long time from the Colts. I have give to the Colts credit. They play to win the game (credit to Herman Edwards).
@7IHd @smonroe how about the run on third and 8 by the chiefs? The Football gods have been smiling on the Colts all year. A team runs for 351 yards and scores only one touchdown and loses. Crazy.
Another badly coached game by the opposition. I would have kicked the field goal to go up by three. I'm stunned by the bad decision making in the league. This was probably probably one of the coaching staff worst games of the year. Statistical metrics don't define this team. It's unbelievable that the Colts are in the playoffs. The one game experience will serve them well in the future.
@Nate Dunlevy @Kyle Rodriguez @smonroe Ask the Packers , Steelers, Raiders, Cowboys or 49'ers if the playoffs are random luck. In the playoffs you actually have to play good teams. Also you have the additional pressure. Some people can handle it and some can't.
@Nate Dunlevy @Kyle Rodriguez @smonroe Stats should use an an additional tool. Everybody has certain stats that they prefer over others. Football Outsiders has Carolina and Detroit 13th and 14th respectively. The Bears are 6th. The are the 28th most efficient team.
I hope Grigson is smarter than that. I hope Ballard continues to play well. The Colts best YPG since 2007. In today's NFL the one man team won't fly. To have the greatest regular season quarterback of all time and win only one Super Bowl is to underachieved. The off season will be interesting again this year.
@Nate Dunlevy @Kyle Rodriguez @smonroe The Bears have been struggling for 5 weeks not a couple. Detroit has gained 1,000 yards more than its opponents this year. I guess the Lions should be 11-4. The Packers have only gained 200 more yards than their opponents.
Stats only tell part of the story. I love stats as much as the next guy, but teams have to pass the eye test also.
I'm getting concerned that the Colts are turning into the Andrew Lucks. I don't want another one man team again.
@Kyle Rodriguez @smonroe We all knew going in to the season that the defense was bad. Football Outsiders has the #1 defense as the bears. How can anybody in their right mind say that the Bears are #1 in defense. Sometimes you have to actually look at the games with own two eyes to make a determination. The Colts have played horribly coach teams this year. Detroit, Tennessee, Buffalo, Jacksonville. Detroit is the prime example of a teams that wins the stats but loses the game. Stats don't tell the entire story.
As a fan I don't really care who wins the post season awards. The Colts have had a great year regardless of wha happens the rest of the year. I missed the game yesterday, but it was closer than I thought. I actually attended the Ravens Broncos game yesterday. The Colts can beat the Ravens by playing average. The Ravens offense is so predictable it's embarassing. if the Colts can get a average OL, the Colts will be an easy ten win team for the forseeable future.

The analysis was great Greg. I share everybody's concern about how often Luck is getting hit. Do we have totals fro the year. How can CJ Spiller get only 15 carries? The Bills play calling was abysmal. How can Bills leave Wayne wide open? The Colts are playing with house money.

@Payton @coltsauthority The offensive may have slightly better prior to 2008. Manning ran the ball 4 straight times in the first quarter against the Saints. When was the last time the a manning led team ran the ran 4 straight times, probably never.
it's seems that people like you have to make it personal. it's astounds me that you are always wrong and can't accept facts. You have crossed the line.
If you want to continue your attack on me, so be it.
1 year, 11 months ago on Colts Building a Dynamic Running Attack | October
@Payton @coltsauthority In today's football which is quite different from even 5 years ago, the Colts during Manning last 4 years were at 62 % and this year the Broncos are at 57% pass. The point is that passing is trending slight up this but for Manning it's 5% down which is huge for him. The offensive line is much better in Denver.
@Payton @coltsauthority I think you are the one that needs to read modern football strategies or talk to a NFL coach. The passing game will get to a Super Bowl (maybe), but the running game will win the Championships. Look at the Broncos and they are more balanced than Manning team has ever been.
@Payton @coltsauthority All of the successful (super Bowl teams) can run the ball. A good running game helps the defense too. The saints are a prime example this year. if they could run the ball to help the defense they would be a better team. passing may win some games but running the ball wins championships. Colts ran for 191 yards to win the only Super Bowl in the Manning era.
@Payton @coltsauthority Denver and Houston were the top two rushing teams in the league last year. The 49ers were third in attempts. My point is yards and attempts are more important than YPC. In the Colts case I would be thrilled with pass/run ratio of the last two games. You can't pass on every down.
@Payton @coltsauthority Total yards is a indicator of success. Carolina and Chicago have the same YPC avg. I guess Buffalo shoul undefeated since they have a 5.3 YPC. YPC does not show any commitment to the run. The top 3 teams last year in YPC missed the playoffs.
@Payton @coltsauthority Total yards is good indicator of success. The Jets avg 5.0 YPC against the Dolphins and lost. The Dolphins avg 2.9 YPC and won. The Jets had only eight more yards rushing. The point is that you have run sometimes when you know you may not get the 4 YPC. St louis avg 4.7 YPC and lost by 38.
@coltsauthority @Payton last year the pass run ratio was 60/40 and this its the same. The last two games the ratio has been 50/50. Last the run game was 26th and this this year it's 17th. My only concern this year is the number of times Luck is hit. The more successful the running game is the chances that he is hit decreases.
I could only hear the on Radio. Did Freeney play Sunday? It did not see his name in the boxscore.
The Offensive line is number one priority. The number two priority is the offensive line. I would like to get a decent corner in the middle rounds. The Colts must protect Andrew Luck at all costs. The Ballard Leap was indeed breathtaking.

I don't see any improvement. The Special teams are in the bottom quarter of the league. Which is better than last year. It's good to see Luck under 30 throws in a game. Does Freeney actually play for the Colts? The Browns Dline is horrible.

@Colt_FollowingI understand your point, but I think the team is moving in the right direction. I just don't see it with this OL how the Colts can get pass the six win mark. The Donald Brown injury does not help at all.
@MarcusDuganI finally watch the game on NFL network last night and Wane was targeted 20 times. Your point on Reggie is spot on. I can't see the Jets letting that happen. My only goal this year is to see improvement every week and for Luck to make it out alive. Back to reaserch on the OL.
