@hyrax_99 Agreed. I think he gets dealt for prospects in the next couple of seasons. Probably next year when he's hot early and his trade value is up.
1 year, 11 months ago on Marlins @ Dodgers August 24, 2012: WHAT THE HOLY HELL
@Frank J Lapidus @DBrim @TheWerg That makes me so happy.
@Crow T Robot Until today I wasn't completely convinced about how serious this ownership group was. I think Greinke is still in the conversation.
In two years, when we have Pederson and Puig up, there's gonna be hell to pay.
This is starting to look more and more like a championship team!
After suffering through about 8 years of absolute mediocrity in the NL West, we're pretty much forcing the rest of the division to sink or swim. (Spoiler: they're all miserly mofos, they'll prolly sink). We're watching this team shed the McCourt-era strategy of hoping mediocre spot-starters like Juan Uribe, Juan Uribe and Tony Gwynn can live up to their over-priced 2 to 3 year contracts. We've probably seen the last of James Loney, and as much as I like the guy, good riddance, he was going nowhere in LA. We're giving up some pretty decent talent, and I regret that. I'm sure we could have slid out of losing Webster, but se la vi. Sands is gonna be good in Boston, just watch. And RDLR is gonna be the prodigy he is. Oh well. We got a high-ceiling veteran presence in Crawford (at least for next year and years to come) and a REALLY talented 1st baseman in his prime in Gonzalez. Considering our minor league options, there's no topping snagging Gonzo. Of course, now we have to suffer through Punto being on the 25 man roster. Not even Minnesota fans liked THAT. But whatever. Overall, very productive and historical day for a franchise that was limping like captain ahab a year ago.
@Frank J Lapidus @DBrim @TheWerg shiiiiiiiiiiiit. mind blown.
@Frank J Lapidus I would love to see that though
@DBrim @TheWerg @ChadMoriyama @ChadMoriyama Right on.
@TheWerg @DBrim How punitive?
@Frank J Lapidus Then we can get Puig up here!!! Good call.
@DBrim Do they give a shit though?
@DBrim You don't think they have the pockets to get both?
If today didn't faze Gugenheim, where will they stop?? Do you guys think Greinke will be a target?
@DaveyL13 @Frank @AJ Definitely agreed. But beggars can't be choosers I guess...
@Frank J Lapidus Agreed, mostly. I wouldn't say the manner in which we got him is totally acceptable. Pretty soon WE'RE gonna be trying to drop salary for the luxury tax.
Then again, Dempster wasn't signed for 5+ years
Boston must've been EXTREMELY stingy in talks. Either that or Colletti has no backbone. What happened to keeping Webster!?
@Frank J Lapidus @VietnamDodger naw, 150, you're right. Mike would be proud.
@Lobo It's officially a rumor.
@Frank J Lapidus @Justincredible14 Don't come between a man and his drink!
@Shawn D touche
Jeez, I kinda wanna see them get swept by the giants again if this is what happens every time...
@Justincredible14 @JoeyE Now they have loney!
I like how the best news yesterday was "what happens to Dee Gordon?" hahahahahahaha
I'm interested to see where this team is in 2015. Old...
@JohnM exactly my thoughts
1 year, 11 months ago on Surgery for Jerry Hairston Changes Infield Equation
@Dang88 @AJ @DBrim @el Right, but that's myopic as fuck
@DBrim @el serracho Future phillies
Dodgers most affected by this deal: Rivera, Loney (obviously), Victorino, Blanton.... and dodger fans from about 2014 on. A fire sale of great prospects is never a good idea.
Alright, there's no point being conservative at this point. Let's just throw in Puig and Lee and Pederson and Baldwin. Fucking Colletti.
@JoeyE Just watch. He's gonna be smacking them over the green monster in a year.
Getting rid of RDLR will be a major regret. Mark my words. Sands is gonna be a star in Boston. Mark my words.
So do they DFA the Juans?
@LuckyDay He can pitch against the NL WEST in a PITCHER'S PARK, with a potentially BIG DEAL on the line 2 years from now. Why the hell would he veto that?
@JoeyE Poor guy. I bet he hits 20 homers in Boston.
@VinScullysDulcetTones @Omer Hahaha, they can take charlie steiner and steve lyons. I bet the boston weather would suit them.
Oh jeez, juan rivera is prolly pissing himself right now
@Gilbert_Vengeance @JoeyE Seems pretty final, eh?
@LA Woman @mike_petriello I'm crying tears of pure, unadulterated joy.
@Omer Shit, I'll start the riots myself
I can't even wrap my mind around that right now
Dodgers throwing in Vin Scully and Nancy Bea
@VietnamDodger He's not going anywhere regardless
In other news, the Nationals extended Chad Tracy guys...
@Ny Blue That won't do!
@JoeyE @Ken_Rosenthal Fuck that guy
@Omer Definitely not both.
This is like the ideal trade in 2 thousand fucking 9
@bleeddodgerblue While simultaneously nutting
@Mike Petriello Seriously man!
Wait, we might get PUNTO!? Well there you go!
@Omer Rubby most likely gone. Lee a possibility. Sands most likely gone. Webster a possibility. Hopefully Joc is off the table.
This is the day I start doing narcotics. This shit is FAR too real.
@el serracho @Bob Meripol lol
@Gilbert_Vengeance @el serracho We gotta platoon Ethier. It's just reality.
@el serracho I'd prefer to be unconscious right now anyway.
This must be a nightmare. How could this go to shit so quickly. Pinch me guys.
THIS IS GETTING TOO REAL
I feel like they totally blue ballsed us by keeping all these prospects before the trade deadline. Now of course they're gonna cut the cord on them in august.
I'm starting to see why they didn't bring sands up. Poor guy's trade bait.
Hey guys, let's get rid of Pedro Martinez (DLR), Paul Konerko (Sands) and Zach Lee (who doesn't need comparisons)
I need an MSTI article on this STAT
@Bawfuls @MFYG most outfielders in their thirties don't bounce back from wrist and shoulder injuries.
Beckett might rock in LA, actually. If his track record says anything, he'll prolly win 100 games next year.
@MFYG An eternity. Crawford is a level of baseball hell.
@MFYG Trust me, if this goes down he will.
How deep are the ownership's pockets? This is ridiculous.
@JessePool Agreed! Kid's got raw skills. But neither will clear waivers. Not a chance.
This is so scary. So much commitment. Where do Joc and Yasiel fit in if this goes down? Or will they even be Dodgers by the end of this? How about Webster and Lee? How about Sands? Actually, that's irrelevant. The dodgers don't give a flying fuck about Sands.
