@hyrax_99 Agreed. I think he gets dealt for prospects in the next couple of seasons. Probably next year when he's hot early and his trade value is up.
@Frank J Lapidus @DBrim @TheWerg That makes me so happy.
@Crow T Robot Until today I wasn't completely convinced about how serious this ownership group was. I think Greinke is still in the conversation.
In two years, when we have Pederson and Puig up, there's gonna be hell to pay.
This is starting to look more and more like a championship team!
After suffering through about 8 years of absolute mediocrity in the NL West, we're pretty much forcing the rest of the division to sink or swim. (Spoiler: they're all miserly mofos, they'll prolly sink). We're watching this team shed the McCourt-era strategy of hoping mediocre spot-starters like Juan Uribe, Juan Uribe and Tony Gwynn can live up to their over-priced 2 to 3 year contracts. We've probably seen the last of James Loney, and as much as I like the guy, good riddance, he was going nowhere in LA. We're giving up some pretty decent talent, and I regret that. I'm sure we could have slid out of losing Webster, but se la vi. Sands is gonna be good in Boston, just watch. And RDLR is gonna be the prodigy he is. Oh well. We got a high-ceiling veteran presence in Crawford (at least for next year and years to come) and a REALLY talented 1st baseman in his prime in Gonzalez. Considering our minor league options, there's no topping snagging Gonzo. Of course, now we have to suffer through Punto being on the 25 man roster. Not even Minnesota fans liked THAT. But whatever. Overall, very productive and historical day for a franchise that was limping like captain ahab a year ago.
@Frank J Lapidus @DBrim @TheWerg shiiiiiiiiiiiit. mind blown.
@Frank J Lapidus I would love to see that though
@DBrim @TheWerg @ChadMoriyama @ChadMoriyama Right on.
@Frank J Lapidus Then we can get Puig up here!!! Good call.
If today didn't faze Gugenheim, where will they stop?? Do you guys think Greinke will be a target?
@Frank J Lapidus Agreed, mostly. I wouldn't say the manner in which we got him is totally acceptable. Pretty soon WE'RE gonna be trying to drop salary for the luxury tax.
Then again, Dempster wasn't signed for 5+ years
Boston must've been EXTREMELY stingy in talks. Either that or Colletti has no backbone. What happened to keeping Webster!?
@Frank J Lapidus @VietnamDodger naw, 150, you're right. Mike would be proud.
@Frank J Lapidus @Justincredible14 Don't come between a man and his drink!
