@Kevin DeLury @brian2686 I hope he stays in the line-up so WeBleedBlue makes a shirt for him with "Mashin' It!" and a giant fist on it.  Will totally be in for one of those.

@PenaltySh0t @L33tle Nemo @hankthetank30 yeah, it was rough going. there are other rules bu that's really all you need. i think it was an average of 1-2 beers if DZ doesn't play 3-4 if he does.

Maybe now with McDonagh at point I can stop playing the Del Zotto drinking game if he's no longer on the PP.  Drink every time he misses the net or lets the puck go out of the zone over his stick.  Oh man, the hangovers from that were horrible.

@FREE MASHINTER @L33tle Nemo My bad!  You can always talk about the twinkie, though.

With his mask, if Talbot does well tonight, I can see NHL network or the internet memes tomorrow "Who Ya Gonna Call?!  CAM TALBOT!"

What's funny is that whle reading this, the Prudential pop-up video took over the whole screen 4 times while reading this article after closing it.  Irony?  Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the ads.  I work in Digital advertising so if it wasn't for sites like this I might not even have a job.  Also, I enjoy the blog way too much to let a few clicks or an extra 20 seconds ruin it for me.  Keep up the good work, October can't come soon enough.

I'll be in attendance and when someone scores on Brodeur (notice it's not an if) hopefully we'll be able to get the "MAAAARRTTYYY" chant going.  Gotta feel the competitive edge somehow, right?

I can still remember trying to make my friends understand the "Two Line Pass" rule.  Thankfully they got rid of that otherwise I'd still be explaining it to this day.

So is Bettman the Caesar of the NHL and the owners the useless Senate?  What are the chances we hear a "Et tu, Sather?" to end the lockout?

This is awesome.  One of my fav things to read was your comments on the game afterwards.  If the lockout extends into the season I know my roommate and I plan on setting up an NHL '13 season and just simulating it at the time it would be played so we can "watch" the game as it were.  Need something to get me through this.

This idea seems like having a negotiator at a divorce settlement.  Which seems like what this is, a former couple bickering over who gets to keep the dog.  Could this be another thing to add to the legacy of "The Great One" if he solves this potential lockout before it does any damage?  I like your thinking there, Kevin.

This is just dumb.  If they think they're paying "too much" in player salaries, why do they continue to give 14-15 year deals worth $8-9 mil a year.  Not to mention the "Oh, we want contracts capped at 5 years" proposal, yet they're still signing players to 6+ year contracts after that.  This makes the owners look even more like a bunch of whiny babies.  You reap what you sow.
