@lxmorj Download the App... show it to a friend... what you are saying is "I'm here for you, if you need help because you a worried about your child, I want to help"
Nothing is as important to me as my children... a close second is the knowledge that I can offer my help to a friend who probably feels that her (or his) world has suddenly fallen apart.
The "community" part means me and you, just sharing this with a friend, and asking them to do the same.

@lxmorj a number of comments..firstly, everyone in the neighbourhood will be on the alert, with a picture of the missing child, in a heightened state of awareness and looking for something odd.... if you wanted to remain incognito, and successfully take a child, i guess you would go anywhere but the Lost Kidz Safe zone.
to have the app, you need to register, with a valid email address, and phone number. Apple have your bank details from the app store; your presence in the active alert zone is tracked by apple (otherwise the app wont know where you are) so you are pinpointed in the area. Apple know who, and where you are if an alert is active. Would you really want to announce your presence in such an obvious way?
When the police get involved, and they take time to validate the claim that a child is missing, they always make a public announcement, publicise details of the child, with a picture, and a contact number... and guess what, they just do a Lost Kidz announcement, but 3 hours too late!
There is everything to gain from seeking help from those who a willing to help... and nothing to lose except valuable time
