Obama is doing the best he can?  Tell that to the survivors of the 3000+ civilians (including over 200 children) incinerated by Obama-approved  and directed predatory drones...including the family members of the American citizens (the father and then the son) assassinated.

@KarlSmith1There is no doubt that most  blacks voted for Obama.  It was the color of the skin thing rather that the content of one's character.  There were warnings from one of the few black liberal establishment...which were ignored:

FROM www.theBlackCommentator.com:

This is a man who has enjoyed the fruits of America at the blood and expense of Black Americans and others, but who has paid virtually no dues.

This is a man whose father had also enjoyed the fruits of university schooling in America but subsequently returned to his native Kenya.

This is a man, who also like his father before him, neither served in a branch of the US military nor in any organization in America opposed to US military adventurism.

This is a man who as a deeply corporate military industrial complex US Presidential candidate, has called for “unilateral” US military actions in other nations. [And why not? After-all, his father, himself, or his wife and children were not and will not be the ones killing and being killed.]

This is a man who, in Chicago, pretended to support the human rights of the Palestinian people but who is now known to be a huge supporter of the apartheid Zionists and their powerful and insidious political lobby in America.

This is a man who dares opportunistically to feign admiration for the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but does not share the collective memory, pain and deep concerns of Black America, other people of color, or even of numerous white Americans for that matter - in the ongoing struggle for equality and justice in this nation.

This is a man who has de facto contempt for the past supreme sacrifices made by thousands of activists from so-called “militant” organizations such the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU), the Student National Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the Black Panther Party (BPP), Students For A Democratic Society (SDS), the American Indian Movement (AIM), the Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM), etc.

This is a man who is silent about the need for reparations for Black American descendants of slaves and the genocide of the indigenous so-called “Indian” peoples on this continent. He is the consummate opportunist who, in reality, cares nothing about the horrors inflicted upon Black, Brown, and Red peoples in this nation, and has repeatedly signaled that he plans to inflict even more “unilateral” military horrors upon various nations and peoples of the world.

This man, Barack Obama, is but a more articulate, younger, and shinier version of the current and infamous US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, adorning himself dangerously and abundantly in superficiality and double-speak.

@MisterHix   I didn't expect the WH to be painted black.  No one did!  .but I also didn't expect that 150 of the top jobs in the Obama Administration went to gays.

http://www.365gay.com/news/neff-150-obama-appointed-gays-and-not-counting/

Neff: 150 Obama-appointed gays and (not) counting | News Story on 365gay.com

The number, at half-way through Obama’s term, is estimated at 150 appointments, from “agency heads and commission members to policy officials and senior staffers.” The prior record number of appointments was made by Bill Clinton over his eight years in office and estimated at 140. Note the use of “estimate,” which to me means that we don’t really know the number, making about 150 a record that needs an asterisk. The Senate had to confirm two dozen of Obama’s openly gay appointees, including John Berry as director of the Office of Personnel Management, which oversees the nation’s 1.9 million federal workers.

The number and names and positions of the employees was proudly and happily announced on a gay rights website. ..and then there's Ms Kagan.  I would have loved to have seen a Black female appointed to the Supreme Court.   Would that have been seen as catering to Blacks..whereas an appointment questionably qualified homosexual is not seen as catering to the gay community?

Unfortunately..Mr. Hope and Change has morphed into George Bush.  Since becoming President he has:

Signed the NDAA into law - making it legal to assassinate Americans w/o charge or trial.

Initiated, and personally oversees a 'Secret Kill List'.

Waged war on Libya without congressional approval.

Started a covert, drone war in Yemen.

Escalated the proxy war in Somalia.

Escalated the CIA drone war in Pakistan.

Maintained a presence in Iraq even after "ending" the war.

Sharply escalated the war in Afghanistan.

Secretly deployed US special forces to 75 countries.

Sold $30 billion of weapons to the dictatorship in Saudi Arabia.

Signed an agreement for 7 military bases in Colombia.

Opened a military base in Chile.

Touted nuclear power, even after the disaster in Japan.

Opened up deepwater oil drilling, even after the BP disaster.

Defended body scans and pat-downs at airports.

Signed the Patriot Act extension into law.

Deported a modern-record 1.5 million immigrants.

Continued Bush's rendition program.

http://comehomeamerica.wordpress.com/2013/08/22/syria-chemical-reaction/ Syria: Chemical Reaction?

Posted on August 22, 2013 by Thomas L. Knapp

In an official statement yesterday, Deputy White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest claimed that “The United States strongly condemns any and all use of chemical weapons.”

That’s not true, of course — the US government uses chemical weapons, including the internationally banned substance known as “CS,” on its own citizens, approves the export of such weapons to regimes it approves of, and ignores the use of such weapons by “allies.”

Nonetheless, US President Barack Obama calls the alleged — on the basis, so far, of little evidence — use of chemical weapons by Syrian government forces a “red line” which could trigger an escalation of American military intervention in that country’s civil war.

Why? Not because chemical weapons may have been used, but because Obama is already committed to the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and he needs excuses.

Unfortunately, that excuse is getting pretty tired, and trotting it out is really just evidence that when it comes to foreign policy, Barack Obama is indeed serving George W. Bush’s fourth term.

The US has no legitimate defense interest in Syria’s internal situation, and no manufactured excuse will create such an interest. It may very well, however, create “blowback” that costs American lives.

Now, more than ever, it’s important to let the politicians know: NO WAR ON SYRIA!

In July 2005, he was arrested for “resisting officer with violence.” The neighborhood watch volunteer who wanted to be a cop got into a scuffle with cops who were questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking. The charges were reduced and then waived after he entered an alcohol education program. Then in August 2005, Zimmerman’s former fiance sought a restraining order against him because of domestic violence. Zimmerman sought a restraining order against her in return. Both were granted. Meanwhile, over the course of eight years, Zimmerman made at least 46 calls to the Sanford (Fla.) Police Department reporting suspicious activity involving black males.

Thanks to the supposed Florida "Sunshine Law" his arrest record is available.

According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the drug is also known to cause “aggressiveness” and “hallucinations,” among other problematic symptoms.

From the U.S. Library of Medicine:

“You should know that some people who took medications for sleep got out of bed and drove their cars, prepared and ate food, had sex, made phone calls, or were involved in other activities while partially asleep. After they woke up, these people were usually unable to remember what they had done. Call your doctor right away if you find out that you have been driving or doing anything else while you were sleeping.

“You should know that your mental health may change in unexpected ways while you are taking this medication. It is hard to tell if these changes are caused by temazepam or if they are caused by physical or mental illnesses that you already have or suddenly develop. Tell your doctor right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: aggressiveness, strange or unusually outgoing behavior, hallucinations (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist), feeling as if you are outside of your body, memory problems, difficulty concentrating, new or worsening depression, thinking about killing yourself, confusion, and any other changes in your usual thoughts, mood, or behavior. Be sure that your family knows which symptoms may be serious so that they can call the doctor if you are unable to seek treatment on your own.”

The State had no intention of having Zimmerman found guilty.  If they had, they would have introduced the evidence of Zimmerman's violent past..and also his use of the prescription drug Temazepam which has caused hallucinations, aggressive behavior, memory loss and more.... which he was reported by paramedics as using the night he killed Trayvon Martin.  No mention was made either of his being fired from his part-time job as a house-party security guard...for being too aggressive (tossing a women who was drunk against a wall and causing injury to her)..or his arrest for attacking a policemen..or the restraining order filed by his ex-fiance against him and her reports of his physically abusing her...or his problem with alcohol which was supposedly "cured" bu his attending AA.  Then there were the nearly 4 dozen calls (46) he made over the course of several years reporting suspicious behavior of Black men in the neighborhood.

Obama increased the number of predatory drone strikes from 54 during the 8 years of Bush, to over 300 during his first 3 years. The increase of drones has resulted in thousands of innocent civilians murdered..among them over 200 children..and 4 Americans. Then there was the diestruction of one of the few secular governments in North Africa..Libya, which resulted in 50,000 deaths..and the ethnic cleansing of thousands of Black Libyans and African immigrants. No word on this from the CBC or Obama or the State Department about these deaths.

Have been trying to find out if Zimmerman's use of prescription drugs which have been known to produce hallucinations and aggressive behavior was mentioned by the prosecuters in the Zimmerman trial:

FROM NEWSONE.COM

While the mainstream media made sure to report with exclamations and gasps that marijuana was found in Trayvon Martin‘s system on the night that he was killed, many outlets failed to also report that the level was well below what medical studies show cause “performance impairment.” The same can not be said for George Zimmerman. According to the paramedic report, the vigilante neighborhood watch captain was on the prescription drug Temazepam, reports MSNBC.com.

Temazepam, also known as Restoril, is known to cause insomnia and anxiety, reports MSNBC. But there are more important side effects that were not mentioned.

Newsone exclusively reports:

According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the drug is also known to cause “aggressiveness” and “hallucinations,” among other problematic symptoms.

From the U.S. Library of Medicine:

“You should know that some people who took medications for sleep got out of bed and drove their cars, prepared and ate food, had sex, made phone calls, or were involved in other activities while partially asleep. I did not watch very much of the trial..as the few minutes that I did watch totally disgusted me..along with the comments of the MSM..who presumed everything Zimmerman said was true and put Trayvon on trial rather than Zimmerman. What I wondered was if the prosecutors bothered to share with the jury Zimmerman's violent past..his arrest for attacking a policemen..his firing from his part-time job for use of excessive force, the restraining ordered against him filed by his then fiance, his alcohol problem, or the fact that he was on prescription drugs the night he killed Trayvon.  The drugs that he had taken are known to cause hallucinations, aggression.  Reports last year of Zimmerman's medical records noted he'd been prescribed Adderall and Temazepam prior to the shooting. Adderall is used most commonly to treat attention deficit disorder. Temazepam, or Restoril, is given for anxiety and insomnia. Side effects for both medications, include agitation and mood swings.

Evidently, the police chose not to test Zimmerman for drugs in his system the day that he killed Trayvon..or if they did..they chose not to record it.

I am still angry that there were no blacks on the jury.  Was this the Defense and the Prosecutions' way to assure that Zimmerman would not be convicted.  Some say that Prosecutors do not like to lose cases..I think in this case it seems as if that is their choice.  Although there is a relatively small number of Blacks (16.5%) in the county where the trial is taking place, that number is still 3x the number of Hispanics!  For some reason..the supposedly "liberal" Huffington Post has posted that based on the census records for that area the jury appropriately represents the area.  Five whites and one Hispanic and NO blacks represents the area?????

President Obama: "If you are a U.S. person, the NSA cannot listen to your telephone calls and the NSA cannot target your emails."

OOOOOOpppppssss!!!!!

NSA Admits: An Analyst’s Decision is Sufficient to ‘Eavesdrop’ – No Warrant Required

The National Security Agency has acknowledged in a new classified briefing that it does not need court authorization to listen to domestic phone calls.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat, disclosed this week that during a secret briefing to members of Congress, he was told that the contents of a phone call could be accessed “simply based on an analyst deciding that.”

If the NSA wants “to listen to the phone,” an analyst’s decision is sufficient, without any other legal authorization required, Nadler said he learned. “I was rather startled,” said Nadler, an attorney and congressman who serves on the House Judiciary committee.

Not only does this disclosure shed more light on how the NSA’s formidable eavesdropping apparatus works domestically it also suggests the Justice Department has secretly interpreted federal surveillance law to permit thousands of low-ranking analysts to eavesdrop on phone calls.

Because the same legal standards that apply to phone calls also apply to e-mail messages, text messages, and instant messages, Nadler’s disclosure indicates the NSA analysts could also access the contents of Internet communications without going before a court and seeking approval.

The disclosure appears to confirm some of the allegations made by Edward Snowden, a former NSA infrastructure analyst who leaked classified documents to the Guardian. Snowden said in a video interview that, while not all NSA analysts had this ability, he could from Hawaii “wiretap anyone from you or your accountant to a federal judge to even the president.”
