No Toyota Celica GT4? :Okay:Anyways, as much as I love Evos, from my young years I've been a really big Subbie fan, you gotta love that unmistakable boxer sound and it's rally legacy. Sooo, my vote goes for, and this is really hard to choose from, the Impreza.

I absolutely love forced induction. But my vote here goes for NA's. There is something about highly strung engines singing upwards of 9-10k rpms. What a marvelous song.

@speedhunters_dino For starters I'll keep it fairly stock engine-wise as you did in the begging, would probably do only Basic Upgrade Package or BPU for short, as how it's known. Going to get a cold air intake (Blitz SUS Power Air Cleaner) with aluminum piping all around to replace the rubber ones, downpipe (custom made with a restrictor ring to not overboost the stock JDM turbos), full decat exhaust system (Blitz Nur Spec Type R), boost controller (Greddy Profec B Spec 2), boost cut controller (Greddy BCC), uprated fuel pump (Bosch 044) and injectors (Sard 650 or 800cc), better spark plugs (NGK Iridium) along with an ignition amplifier (HKS Twin Power DLI). Boosted at 1.2 bar (17-18PSI), alongside with the VVTi 2JZ-GTE it should make for around a good ~450HP, give or take, with a very nice and fat torque curve for both daily driving and racing it. Also going to get some nice suspension parts for making it stick to the road better and putting the power down like HKS HiperMax III Coilovers, Carbing solid one-piece aluminum front and rear strut bars, some lightweight forged wheels and sticky tires to go with them (still haven't desided here yet), also going to get an aftermarket LSD (OS Giken Super Lock), upgraded clutch (OS Giken Twin or Triple Plate), and a nice shifter for the Getrag 6spd (C's short throw shifter). Eventually will look into Cams and an aftermarket full standalone ECU also, for going all-out full BPU+, but that will be after all the other stuff gets done. All in all, it should make for a pretty beastly and balanced daily driver/racer. It should have no problems at all catching and giving a run for their money (even beating) some of those pesky Skyline GT-R's, Om-Nom-Nom, lol. A never ending JDM battle. :) Thanks for the attention Dino, would be glad if you have some time to check out the stuff I wrote (sorry for the wall of text, lol) and give a honest opinion, thanks!

Amazing post Dino, well done sir! More than fun to read and follow the story of your man-machine bond love. Can't wait to see more of the upgrades you do with the Godzilla in the future! This is where I hope in very soon time I'll be with a Supra JZA80, getting it to be a well balanced ride, exactly like what it came out from Toyota back in the days!

Just had a read trough all of this... And wow, this brings back some memories... I would say, the 80's were the pinacle of motorsport evolution in it's twisted insane ways it was going... Crazy powerful cars, crazy aero, unreal drivers... Le Mans, Formula 1, Group B, IMSA and all other racing motorsports... It was just insanity. A beautiful insanity. Great post, no, AMAZING POST, this was just a pleasure to read and see these pictures which tell a story that will never be forgotten in the hearts of millions of motorsport enthusiasts. Bravo!

This is a very hard choice. While cars like the F40, Countach, 959 and crazy Group B rides are absolutely amazing, they for a lot of people, have been, are and going to be, out of reach. Mostly a dream car if anyone wins the lottery. :) So my vote goes for the AE86, a car which is more than iconic not only in Japan, but worldwide! A truly legendary car, one of the best things that came from Japan. Affordable, great tuning potential, great fun, you just have to love it! Anyways all the cars on the list are amazing, I wouldn't mind owning them all in my own little personal collectors garage, aka "arab style", haha. Oh, the dreams...

Badass machines... "There is more to come" - Be sure there be more of the "more", lol.One thing though that has always made me wonder... I don't know if you can answer this Dino, but... Why are the Japanese tuners and shops still using these old turbos, when most of them by today's turbo standarts, are pretty ancient. I mean HKS T04Z's, T51R's, Greddy/Trust T78's, T88's and so on... Most of these are like 10+ years old now. I know that they are very reliable and cheap there, but don't the guys over there have access to newer Garretts, Precisions, Turbonetics, etc? I bet they would get far better results with more modern dual ball bearing, billet wheel, designed turbos... Have always made me wonder...

All of them are awesome, I think the 380SX is a bit overhyped, let it show first what can it do, then go crazy all about it (not taking anything away from the car, it's a complete beast and a very original build!). It's a tough call, but my vote goes for the little N-One, I think these old little Hondas deserve more attention and love like this!

*86 AWESOMENESS OVERLOAD*Absolutely mind blowing stuff... I think the 86 is quickly getting to the title of "most popular japanese tuner car"... Like c'mon, SEMA was amazing with these cars, but TAS did absolutely blow everything else out of the water... I can't seem to get enough of these awesome cars! So much different styles, parts, tuning shops, and whatnot and whatnot, etc. Definitely the owners are getting mega-spoiled with so many parts to choose from. I see this car turning into one of the worlds most tuned and developed cars... PERIOD. It really starts to make me feel the need to get one myself ASAP and start modifiying it... I dont know how much I can holf of the urge, haha. :)Anyway, EPIC ARTICLE Dino, have read it with my mouth open from start to end, ass I said awesomeness overload. Hats off to you sir.
