You bring up some numbers but TP is probably one of the worst defender in the league, there's a lot of times that other teams' so-so point guards get the best of him. Honestly the only thing TP could do is just scoring, no so much on defense and share the ball.

Granger and Butler chose what they chose just because they think those teams have better chances to win a championship than the Spurs, it's that simple! Why need to argue?

TP out, the Spurs have been playing exceptional well, especially Manu and Patty's energy are able to be released at highest level, the FO should try to trade TP next year.

If you wanna  bring up  some trade ideas, bring some more realistic ones without being bias on the Spurs, this isn't like playing Fantasy Draft. Most of the trade scenario you Spurs writers referred using the ESPN trade machine just don't work in reality. Financial equality is just one of the many variables.

10 months, 4 weeks ago on Why Jeff Ayres Should Start

Reply

Neither him nor Diaw is a NBA starter, that's why we always get killed in the paint when Splitter isn't here. Splitter is injured, but even when he's healthy he's not earning starter minutes. I'm not saying he's a NBA starter yet but as individual he's just a better player than Diaw and Ayres. Diaw can pass, yeah, but other than that he's just a fat, slow undersized PF with inconsistency, people on this site call him a defensive stopper just let me laugh. He's probably on the bottom of NBA starting PF if not the worst, talking about defense. His only trick is to flopping. As for Ayres, clearly a much better defender than Diaw, at least he has heart, but man, offensively he's raw, maybe not better than some rookies. Splitter isn't much an offensive threat, but he runs pick n' roll better than any bigmen on this team not naming Tim Duncan. He has no mid-range but has some solid post moves and he got height to grab double-digit rebounds on some nights when given minutes. The Spurs' front line, minus Duncan, can only compete in NBDL.

Call Diaw a "defensive Stopper" is just laughable. Go talk this to the other teams! Talk to other GMS, coachs, even NBA referees, and tell them Diaw is a STOPPER!

Just one game, Diaw is never related to anything about defense in his whole career. His passing is obviously his strength, though.

TP is just awful, the Rockets even don't have Beverly, who could limit TP so well, in their line-up today. Facing a just-back-from-injury Lin, TP didn't take any advantage of it, and disappear when the team needs him most.

The Rockets? Maybe. The Clippers? With BLAKE GRIFFIN? not so much. The Spurs will probably finish 1st or 2nd in the West, and fail again at the Final. They just cannot win with TP is the guy leading the team.

The Wiz won't let Serephin and Singleton go. There's big possibility that the player they want to unload is Ariza. While he has some athleticism and some defensive tactics, his jump shots are at best questionable, if inconsistent is not the word. The Spurs like players who can shoot. Besides, Ariza's contract is too big for just a back up.
