@Hoze So...why not just use Billingsley? (make do until he's ready)

I'd like to know why League suddenly can't strike anybody out. He was always slightly subpar there, but last year his swing and miss ability just tanked. Velocity is a little down, but would it make that much difference? What about movement on each pitch? What about his overall pitch mix, what about his scenario-specific pitch mix. How about his mechanics? Maybe look into that, team up with Chad.
Is there something he is doing differently that is causing the problem, where he can revert to a better approach?

@Iced Purple Drank @Kemp's Baby Balloon Hey, I used to live right there, like 6 years ago.

@JoeyE @DBrim Eaton has good chance to be 3-4 win player. Trumbo at 1B might be >2, but used in LF he is <2.
@Lobo @CodyStumpo It is identical to Uribe's, .299.

Hey, Trumbo owns a 3B mitt. Angels want to trade him.
Zimmerman for Kemp makes a lot of sense. See who's shoulder heals first. Bet $100M on it!

@ JohnM @Mike Petriello I don't know how he'll age to 2023 (!) but he'll probably opt out in 2018 anyway. So look at him as signed for 4/$51.5 for ages 25-28 and probably putting up 3-4.5 WAR per year. That's a very team-friendly deal. (If he were a free agent looking for a 4-yr deal, what would he get? $70M?). There is a possible downside, that he stops being fast and you're on the hook for the other 6/$88 of a 29-34 yr. old SS.

@Tony Fernandez (MSTY Most Informative Poster) @DBrim @PuntoForPresident (PuigForPrimeMinister) Uribe showed extraordinary humility in reworking his fundamental approach. Took his preparation seriously, waited for his pitch, went up the middle. McGwire gets a lot of credit here. But Uribe himself too. Not many veteran MLB players have that kind of humility. Although 2 years of being the worst player in the league will do that I guess.

We get to the playoffs as is. Could use 1 more trustable sp once we get there, but 2 is kind of pointless. Billz is probably going to be that for us anyway. Big need is 3b and rp
4 months, 1 week ago on Here’s Why You Don’t Want David Price
@Hoze @CodyStumpo Well no, of course if you're only going to give him 200 PA, then he'll only provide ~0.7 WAR and only be worth paying ~$3M for. But the point is you should be able to trade him for something good since he at that point has a slightly team-favorable contract a lot of other teams looking for a starting 2B would like to have. (I say that not being familiar with the starting 2B situation for all 29 other teams).
4 months, 1 week ago on The Dodgers Probably Won’t Exercise Mark Ellis’ Option, But…
From a pure financial option point of view, Mark Ellis's expected value next year is greater than his strike price. "A win or two" above replacement is worth $7M on the open market.
@TheConman @CodyStumpo @Mackyla (Sinful Clubhouse Lesbian) Lawrie is very good defensive 3B, so no need/use for him to playthere lately. But I imagine he remembers how.

@Mackyla (Sinful Clubhouse Lesbian) @CodyStumpo As third base.
@EephusBlue I'd like to think so, just to give me something to be mad at Mattingly for. Especially in light of option vesting with NLDS win. Also, all year leaving him in when game was effectively won, to "protect the bullpen." You know what, let the bullpen freaking protect Kershaw!

Jose Bautista is available trade target.
According to Fangraphs, Juan Uribe has now broke even on his 3 yr / $21m contract. He provided
$1.6m, $0.8m, and $19m of value so far in his 3 years.

@The Monocle I had the conviction to, but don't have the logistics of sports betting down so would have had to figure all that out.
