@jrobinson Whether the military is acting 'on the side of the people' or not here is not the issue. They military enacted a coup. *Our* law states that we will give no aid to any nation that is currently under the power of a coup government which was assisted by their national military. Full stop.If they want aid, they need to hold a free and open democratic election of a new government and return the power to the people. Otherwise they are, at best, a benevolent dictatorship.And none of that begins to address the simple fact that we are fantastically broke as a nation and continuing to distribute aid to foreign nations when we are beyond any hope of paying our own bills at the current rate of growth is plain and simple idiocy.
