@ginidietrich Hey, thanks! But I am sure you know what I mean. Positive is one thing but having an eye for people is another?

Mark, I really enjoyed this and just have to chime in.

As a young professional who has worked in politics and now in the agency world, I can quickly relate to trusting the wrong people. It's tough because we or I want to always find the good in people; understand people in a positive light. But, I've quickly learned how that can have a blinding effect. Being more deliberate in how I view people and why I view them the way I do has helped.

@LauraPetrolino right onnn! A rockin' social effort or strategy comes from just wanting to go the extra mile. Looking to help, impact, and inspire can only be genuine. Gotta have the right kind of people on the team to do this, and you guys do!

@creativeoncall I second this, Chuck! At our agency, we often have these digital brainstorms to come up with fresh ideas. Yet, for the account I work on, DM & DH still take the cake when it comes to results. Those tactics are still driving sales.

@ginidietrich Yeah, I definitely know where you are coming from. Huge clients usually means lots of agencies in play -- and that can be frustrating. I really liked this post because I know that you genuinely care for the well-being of this client. Sometimes, as you know, it isn't always that easy when you are dealing with Fortune100 clients. You want to do great work and execute but too often it feels like a process.

This is really good, @GiniDietrich . Working on a large accounts in the agency world doesn't always allow for this type of interaction and in the weeds strategy with the client. "Best practice" seems to get in the way too much.

"We sometimes let go of business opportunities that are based solely on gut or feelings." I know that I say "go with your gut" A LOT. It's gotta feel right; it's gotta feel natural. With golf, I always knew it was better to commit to the WRONG shot than not committing to the right shot. But, it is important to understand our instincts and why they feel the way they do. Analyze, commit, and execute.

Happy #FF, Mitch and @GiniDietrich!

This resonates in so many ways, @LauraPetrolino!! Like you, my childhood was revolved around competitive sport. I was trying to be the best I could possibly be at golf. Getting up early, coming home early, working out around the clock, etc. I think a great tie in to to this is knowing how and when to recognize that you aren't getting better. You have to constantly re-evaluate your process, resources, and personal goals.

I could talk about this for the days!

@Howie GoldfarbThe Man. The Myth. And, most certainly... The Legend. Happy #FF to you, sir! Howie's the dude I came to know many months ago. He made me feel like the man. So, it goes like this:

Guy loves coffee, and I mean that's great -- but does he like a latte or it just plain straight? Howie lives to make businesses grow... We are sure that makes him glow. Outdoor sports seem to keep him sane, so don't worry... He will always be ready for a game.

So, lets enjoy his company and let him have his fame... We are sure this guy is nowhere close to lame.

And lastly: Mashable may have forcefully slammed the door but we all know Howie is coming back for more.

Cheers from Chicago!

@ginidietrich It simply has to change. Productivity has many different definitions for many different people, but I don't think it is valued. The political world is a great example. It is all about talking how busy you are, how much work you have on your plate, and who stays late in the office late to earn brownie points.

@ginidietrich This post really speaks to me due to the fact that I am kind of dragging this Monday morning. Need some inspiration; need a pick me up!  It seems like in every interview, they tell you "don't think this is some 9-5 job." In so many industries, it has become cool to stay late and be the one who just doesn't have time to go out for lunch. If I was a boss, I certainty wouldn't be setting that example for my team. But too often it goes on, and it needs to change. We need to truly a time management strategy.

Just my perspective as a 20 something year old trying to figure out the professional world :)

I get the feeling in this community that these are the type of folks would do something nice for someone and not expect anything in return. And, that is easy to say but hard to really feel. Pretty freaking cool.
