Agree Callahan wouldn't have made that pass to Stepan but what about the other way around? I've seen Stepan make that pass in that situation. Granted Callahan probably would've shot it wide but if Stepan could score, anything is possible lol

@KevinTheNYRBlog Probably but once you get into the trend, I wonder if you start squeezing stick even more causing more issues. I don't know...I know it would make his value lower but I want to see what happens next year before giving up on him.
1 week, 3 days ago on Rangers Interested in Kesler; Girardi Wants to Stay
Do you think Stepan is struggling with AV's system or is Stepan having a Richards season cause he missed training camp? Not giving him an excuse but I'm not sure AV is the issue with him. Either way, I love Kesler but giving up Step is a non-starter to me. I'm not giving up on him yet.
As for scouts, interesting that none of the ones we've been linked to were there (Blues, TBL....)
Honest question - can someone tell me how you "twist your spine"? I get Staal has bad luck but these random injuries are taking it to another level.
1 week, 6 days ago on Staal Returns to Practice; Talbot to Start vs. Blackhawks; Possible Callup Coming
Is it me or is what Girardi supposedly seeking not that crazy? Maybe I'm comparing it to what Callahan supposedly wants but if it would get him signed, I would give that to him. (Yes at the end that contract might not look great but it will look better than a few others on the roster at the end of theirs...)
1 week, 6 days ago on Callahan for St. Louis Likely Not Happening; Anaheim Back on Girardi
It would not surprise me in the least if Erik Erlendsson was right in all this. That said, if that is the case and I'm Callahan, I'm not happy to land from Russia this morning to that news so it might do more damage than help.
I do hope you're right on that last sentence...well part of it. I love Cally but at this point I just want Girardi signed and am a little concerned he hasn't yet.
2 weeks ago on Callahan for St. Louis Insanity
Did you see who came up with the name? That would be some guy named Derek Stepan, who insisted Cally had to be the chicken LOL
2 weeks, 4 days ago on Backes-Callahan-Brown Line Dubbed 'The Meat Line'
@cardboardcllctr Exactly. Hence the reason I'm concerned. I'm sure Mac will be fine if they did that but not sure about the bottom 4 D. And personally I want Girardi to stay.
3 weeks, 1 day ago on Callahan's Agent Hasn't Spoken to Rangers or Other Teams
Not going to lie, I'm a little concerned the Rangers are going to think that will work and therefore Girardi is expendable. Still think Girardi re-signs (sooner rather than later) but I would like Mac to say something along the lines of "I prefer to be on the left" just to get the thought out of their minds lol
@gravey94 @Kevin DeLury Exactly my point. I would be surprised if he never plays at all but there was no way he was guaranteed a spot to start no matter how he was playing.
3 weeks, 6 days ago on Rangers Begin Olympic Practices
@Kevin DeLury Maybe over Stastny in that case. But there was never any point from the moment he was named that anyone saw him as more than a spare forward so just not sure I agree with saying he "lost" his spot. He just didn't work his way into the lineup.
@Kevin DeLury Love that he switched with Brown. It's almost as if Bylsma is saying the two of them are similar players...so maybe they should be looking for similar contracts... lol
I don't think it's fair to say Stepan played himself out of the lineup. He was never in the lineup as he was always seen as the fifth center / 13th or 14th forward. I would've been shocked to see him practice on one of the top four lines. Doesn't mean he won't get there before tournament is over but no one had him there to start no matter how he was playing.
I thought I heard something about Stralman wanting more than $3 million a year. I would take him at $2.5 mil but what do you do if he wants higher than that?
1 month ago on Callahan/Agent to Talk Contract at Olympics; Deal to Be Had for Girardi; Stralman Talks to Begin
@DAN CARCILLO'S VISOR Yes he's been better than DZ but I just haven't been impressed otherwise. But maybe I just expected more than I should have.
1 month ago on Oilers 2, Rangers 1
@Kevin DeLury Oh he's made some good plays and been better than DZ in defensive end but I don't know...I guess I expected more so it probably is me. And Moore having confidence to jump up isn't always a good thing lol. But yes, tonight that was a horrible turnover. Honestly, half the night I kept seeing Zucc being back as only "defenseman" and it was always that pair on ice.
Thank you for adding that comment about Klein. While he hasn't been horrible, he hasn't impressed me. But all I kept seeing was everyone say how good he is so thought maybe it was me lol
AV might have no say but I'm pretty sure if Sather was planning to trade him, he would tell him not to place him in the one spot he could easily get injured in. I think Cally on the PP is another part of the negotiations. It looks to me as Sather is saying "Look, we'll give him PP time. I want him to stay. Can we work something out already?"

The Rangers were reportedly also interested in McGinn...who was also a minus-5. Guess those guys don't want to come to New York.

@Kevin DeLury@NYRblogneillWait...Kevin is saying we should possibly trade Girardi? He'll be signed this week! ;-)
