(sorry to post Twice, but missed a part of the text, sorry also for my english)Well, when Roseale says "too early", he should remember that "Le deuxieme Monde"  (in english : "The Second World"), was used from 1997 to 2002 in France ... So when he says that he is afraid that "someone else become a billionaire off of the same premise you had years before", i'd just like to recall that he is the guy who took the idea that was born years before... By the way, in France, we also have a virtual world, still alive since 1998 "http://www.levillage.org/" ... The 1st experience, "The Second World" was selling in world more advertising than any TV Channel in 2002, but the deciders just said "STOP" in 2002, a STOP like "there is no future for this... What a same... Developpers were asking to continue, but no one heared them. About Second Life, i think that there are 2 issues. The 1st one have been discussed here : Customer's Service... Took me ONE year to an answer to a question, and it was the wrong answer... The second issue is how Linden Labs communicates about their incredible tool... Second Life is powerfull, a social network, a simulation environment, and many other things, and they still communicate about "your second life", "love", "live your dreams"...   No more educational licence for renting SIMs, no promotion of the real life applications, no bridge between Real Life and In World... Such a tool MUST BE something to use for a better Real Life,  not to be a fake beautifull world and addictive brain-washing tool...  The image people have from second life is a pity, it's impossible to talk about it in a professional meeting, and trying to explain it can be used for many applications... With a better image, they would have more sponsors, and could lower the price of SIM rentals... When you know how (low) cost a server to run a SIM, when you see the Customer's Service level, i think it is not normal to have such amount to pay... The reserach and Development should not be paid by builders that are abandonned and who are the ones building the world where "common" users will wander....
