@Longstroke you missed the point. Nike is using synthetic materials that are lighter. that's why you don't see leather and other shit on their performance shoes (kobe, KD, hyperdunk, hyperfuse, etc)
@Longstroke you do realize that these shoes are meant for performance on the basketball court? this is 2013 not 1988, so nonperformance basketball shoes aren't going to be made of heavier materials like leather.
they look like the feel light. if that makes sense.
JB should have made an Oreo IV Retro rather than these. but i doubt that'll happen anytime soon.

@Jonathan Broder Nike is trying to break away from releasing all the sig shoes around the same time. they wanted KD's sig to get some shine basically and not get overshadowed by lebron and kobe

In a perfect world, jordan retros shouldn't increase in price because the shoes are utilizing old technology. The only reason they're going up in price is because demand is rising. I don't mind prices for lebrons, kobes or KDs going up because those shoes are evolving every year. newer and newer technologies are being implemented into the shoe. that's basically what you're paying for. That's the thing with elite models, nike is using carbon fiber, kevlar, and other expensive materials to put in some shoes. so yeah they're gonna be more expensive.
@psi4pwr if it was 115 in 1988 when they first released, then in today's dollar value $115 would equal $226.28

@Sneakerhead2320 what happened was that nike and KD had things like zoom bags and carbon fiber added on his shoes. that increased the price obviously. KD himself said he was ok with the KD V being over 100.
