Great article. A great way to curate content is through using a social media aggregator to bring in your favorite social media influencers, your competitors, favorite daily feeds, etc. and with Postano, for example, using social sharing buttons at the bottom of each post to share with your audience. Great article! I recently wrote a post about this. The ZMOT is tied into what is called the Context War. Essentially, brands need to create more context for the content that they're producing in order to build a community of loyal consumers and brand advocates. From that community is where positive product reviews and recommendations are generated from. A great way for companies to capitalize on the organically generated content is to use a social media aggregator, like Postano, for monitoring and content curating and using that content as a way to promote their brand while thanking their customers at the same time.
I've been watching social media through http://olympics.postano.com/ and seeing trends and real-time events has been really exciting. Being a millenial myself, social media has defined the millenial generation and now that a lot of millenials are competing in the Olympics- the Olympics is going to be defined by social media. The IOC buried their head in the sands, ignoring the primary uses of social media and tried to stop them with heavy hitting restrictions. For them to be surprised by the influence social media is having on these games is ridiculous, and I hope that these games have given them much more insight on how to handle and be prepared for the 2014 & 2016 Olympics.
