Last I checked, TWC's TV menu looked like a geocities website. No thanks.

It's by far the fastest in the area, but their TV is garbage. I know a lot of people that opt for DirecTV instead.

If you're in the LA region and have TWC internet only, try connecting the coax cable from your modem directly to your TV's antenna input and run a channel scan. You may find you've had access to SNLA all along. Mine shows up on analog 74-0, in standard definition only. YMMV.

Even with the old spelling, it was only 13 lettered compared to Saltalamacchia's 14. Nobody retweeting about that bothered to count.

I'm surprised Cuba hasn't renounced communism and negotiated a posting system with the MLBPA. They would probably double their GDP.

How have the Angels not signed Bronson Arroyo yet? Add him to Weaver, Wilson, Richards, and Blanton, and people won't be sure if they're looking at a baseball team or a circa 1998 Christian rock band.

Less posting fee, Tanaka got more guaranteed money than Greinke. With posting fee, a higher AAV than Greinke. To pay him like an MLB-proven ace is insane, and I'm really glad the Dodgers passed on this signing.

@efb I'd hate to see how much he is spending on AdWords for "Tanaka" and "Los Angeles." I keep getting his campaign banners on MLBTR.

Probably baseless, but someone told me a Cuban free agent catcher was spotted being shown around Dodger Stadium, who was kind of on the short side. Yenier Bello (5'11") seems to fit the description.

If it rains Saturday in STL, what happens to Monday's home game? I have tickets and I'll probably have to sell them if it gets pushed to Tuesday.

For as much crap as Ned gets, most of the top prospects he sends away end up being forgettable. I have more faith in his trades than his signings.

I think they were banking on a team trading the farm for Cliff Lee, and now that the deadline has passed, they are weaseling out of the deal based on issues they were already aware of beforehand.

Puig's confidence helped rescue a depressed team and fan base from the gutter. Not singlehandedly, but it definitely made a difference. I'll take the bat flips and stares and tantrums because it makes people care a little bit more, for better or worse. I'd rather the Dodgers were lively and annoying than impotent and disappointing.

On a side note, I found out what Puig draws in the dirt. It's like a Cuban nursery rhyme that all the kids know where you draw a cross or an X, and say something like "if you strike me out, I'll kill you." My brother in law grew up in Cuba and he had a good laugh when he realized what Puig was doing.

Is it possible a dollar amount hasn't been announced because it's dependent on MLB's revenue sharing claim? Maybe the contract guarantees the Dodgers 6B/25, and the rest is a variable to be worked out in negotiations or courts, for TWC to cover?

@JohnM I think the Dodgers expectations of Puig have to be greater than they've stated publicly. I doubt Logan White would have given a 42M green light to a player as distant from the majors as a high schooler.

Victorino makes more sense for the Dodgers than Pence or Soriano. If Yasiel Puig meets expectations next season, the last thing you want is a Vernon Wells-type situation you either eat a season-plus of a backloaded contract or block the young talent from playing on principle.
