@darknesssss I'm 6'4" and 230lbs. Good build to be a baseball player and pretty athletic. I took some BP the other day and made contact on one pitch out of 20... With my thumb.

@Cat Facts I'm shocked to see mccutchen in first. Tired of having al guys on the cover and it's good that Sony San Diego list their hard on for mauer. Kemp timee
Let me also clarify that signing Lohse is a deep seeded fear of mine. Definitely not something I want to happen.
1 year, 6 months ago on Welcome Back-Ish, Alfredo Amezaga
@EephusBlue Lmao made my fucking day. I don't figure it to happen either, but I can't help but be irritated to hear "Lohse has yet to receive any offers... But the Dodgers could extend one" talk.
Why the hell am I still hearing whispers of the dodgers maybe going after Kyle lohse? Shouldn't those talks be dead now with the acquisitions of greinke and ryu?
@Gilbert_Vengeance with guys out there like soriano and Brian Wilson who were salivating at the thought of the dodgers signing them I appreciate this deal so much more. A low cost arm who is reliable and a good age.
1 year, 6 months ago on 2012 Dodgers in Review #48: RP Kenley Jansen
@Gilbert_Vengeance I just hate the while "it's cool to hate the dodgers" mentality. They even give us shit on MLBN and there sports outlets.
We went through hell with mccourt and everybody hates us because we have money. The fuck brah
@DBrim really didn't sound logical to me, but I'd do it lol
@DavePomerantz would az actually do a straight up trade of cappy for Upton though?
@Amy Wong, Ph.D. Candidate ahahahaha fucking right.
@DBrim pay all of the contracts and include nick punto in the deal. That should do fine.
@DBrim lol what? Moving onnnnn...
@Amy Wong, Ph.D. Candidate are you kidding me? Who the hell watches Marlins games?
Offer Miami Juan uribe for Stanton and see where the negotiations go from there.
If that package isn't enough then Miami can eat some spotted dick because there's no way he's worth a Kemp or Kershaw caliber player.
So tired.of the ethier rumors. I like bourn, but I don't know of he'd produce at an all star caliber level for more than a few years. That may be good as it's open up a window for puig but I'd rather put together a halfway decent package of ethier, Zack lee, capitano/harang and maybe a few other decent names for Stanton. I'd even be willing to include dee Gordon. I wouldn't give the moon for Stanton though, but I'd prefer Stanton over bourn. Throw aj in leadoff and see how it works out.
Any chance of us getting Perez now?
1 year, 7 months ago on 2012 Dodgers in Review #40: RP Randy Choate
I'm still intrigued by the idea of Gordon playing 2B though which is why I'm not keen on giving him up. the DBacks don't need a SS though, but I'd see Gordon as a great player if he'd quit bringing a toothpick to the plate in replace of a bat.
1 year, 7 months ago on Yes, the Dodgers Are Listening to Offers For Andre Ethier
@The_Real_Paul You can ship a package deal for Upton though, but I wouldn't include Dee Gordon. I don't believe that the DBacks need pitching so Harang would not be included in that trade (trying to save Capuano for Hanrahan), but believe we may be able to intrigue them with something that wouldn't include relinquishing top prospects.
I'd rather send a package for J. Upton including Eithier then trading for prospects and signing Bourn or Swisher. I know we need the prospects and sorely need a dependable leadoff hitter like Bourn, but I like what Upton has done with the DBacks and definitely like his age.
Unless of course Uribe flailed and stumbled after every swing of the bat. That shit never gets old rofl.
1 year, 7 months ago on 2012 Dodgers in Review #38: RP Mike MacDougal
But he had a looooow ERA that one yearrrr. Hah, I kid. I'd have traded Macdougal for an old turd. Wouldn't trade him for Juan Uribe though.
@efb He's had that nickname for years.
1 year, 7 months ago on So What’s Next For the Dodgers?
@VietnamDodger I'd consider a slider as one of the best pitches in baseball. I don't really think it's a singular pitch that can be considered the best but how the pitcher throws that pitch.
@ThtsaPaddlin I'm still waiting to see greinke in a dodger uni
@The_Real_Paul I really need to check that out. Jansen has earned himself some of the most impressive strikeouts I've ever seen while watching the Dodgers during his tenure. He still makes guys look silly even though he's lost a few mph's off of his pitches. It's ridiculous to think that League will more than likely be closing instead of Jansen, but I doubt it will last for the whole year. This is of course unless League really dominates as the Dodgers closer.
@The_Real_Paul What makes Jansen's cutter so unreal is that most of his strikeouts generate on cutters left out of the middle of the plate and the hitters still can't touch it. It's a lot harder to gauge from my couch then it is for AJ Ellis or the offense of another team to judge, but I see more break and better speed on Bellisario's sinker then I do Kenley's cutter and he still strikes out 90+ guys a year.
@The_Real_Paul Cutter in on the hands is pretty nasty. Again, it's a pitch where location means a lot. It can just as easily be airmailed to the outfield stands as it can lock a guy.
@EephusBlue The knuckleball is a hit or miss in my opinion. Considering the fact that the pitcher has no control over where it lands it all depends on how well you can deceive the hitter with the pitch. Leave it out over the plate and it's going, going, gone.
@EephusBlue I don't think any single pitch can be considered "the best pitch ever" but a change up is a pitch that every player should learn to master. 95mph 4seam followed up a low 80's change up with big break? Forget about it.
@Gilbert_Vengeance Burnett... then fuck a loogy and sink or swim with paco.
@Gilbert_Vengeance @Lexo I like Murphy, but Gordon has loads of potential and could be an all star yearly.
@Gilbert_Vengeance where are the reliable loogys that we can trade for though without having to deal any good prospects?
@Lexo two questions. Can Murphy play 3b and what the hell would Ned be thinking when agreeing to this trade?
I'm actually excited about Ryu and expect him to be pretty dominant in the rotation. If we can get a solid Ryu and the Billingsley 2.0 that we saw before his season ending injury then that could be a lethal rotation. I'm really pulling for Billingsley to break out if he remains healthy in 2013 and at least come close to replicating his 2008 season. I know that Billingsley isn't exactly a Dodger favorite among fans, but I've always been optimistic on him and thought he was a lot better then fans made out.
This article obviously isn't about Billingsley though so I'll speak my piece on how I feel about the bench and potential trade options we could do. Not really sure who I'd deal the pieces to, but Capuano, Harang and Uribe have to go. I'm not as optimistic on League being our closer as I am about trading for Hanrahan or Chris Perez. I believe both have been discussed here before by somebody or another, but Perez would probably be the easiest to move, especially if we were willing to part with Gordon as part of the deal. I personally want to see Gordon take over for Ellis at second base in a couple of years, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if he was part of a deal for Perez.
The bench is indeed repulsive as Mike pointed out, but a big part of the disgust comes from Uribe being on that bench. I don't expect Fed Ex to hit much higher than .200 but I don't see them giving him many pinch hit opportunities and see them primarily going to Punto or a potential Schumaker/Ellis pinch hit platoon depending on who is on the field that day.
Youk would be a good upgrade at 3b if Cruz can't catch lightning twice, but I could also see management crossing their fingers on Cruz since he became somewhat of a fan favorite during the second half of the 2012 season. A platoon of Cruz/Hairston wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to our lineup, but an upgrade would be preferred.
I know I'm beating a dead horse, but opt-out clause for Greinke? I would have just given him the no trade clause or an option for a 7th year.
1 year, 7 months ago on Hyun-jin Ryu Beats Deadline To Add To Embarrassment of Dodger Pitching Riches
@Lobo I'd give him a shot in LF if Crawford doesn't develop back into the hitter and fielder he was with the Rays. Crawford had a gun on him that saved runs from scoring when he threw the ball from LF, and I don't imagine he'll have the same throwing arm as he did before TJ, but I think he has a great chance at becoming a great hitter again. If this is the case then I'd rather wait the year and place Dee at 2B instead of replacing Crawford or Ethier with him.
@Catfishin I'm hoping Gordon can find a home at 2b after Ellis burns out or during the 2014 season. Completely against trading him or trying him at 3b.
@Catfishin everybody hates the dodgers now. They'd all be shitting themselves if they were us right now.

@DBrim wait... really? Time to research more.
1 year, 7 months ago on Report: Dodgers Close to Signing Zack Greinke
I'm waiting for a report that he's signing with the astros or some such shit. Mystery teams can be a motherfucker. Greinke has been trolling the whole offseason so I'm refusing to get super excited until he actually signs the contract.
@The_Real_Paul can't overpay for greinke but can for league. That's sketchy.
1 year, 7 months ago on 24 Hours to Hyun-jin Ryu
@efb I've been hearing that Jansen will be setup and league will close.
@VietnamDodger hanrhan has posted better closer numbers in my opinion and league has blown a lot of saves. I'd be happy with chris perez as well
@DBrim @The_Real_Paul wait, I thout he meant two out of three. Greinke then lol
@The_Real_Paul sanchez. The only thing that intrigues me about ryu is he'd be a second lefty to a rotation thay would only have one. I don't give a shit what he's done in Korea as a pitcher because it's rare to see those numbers translate to major league greatness.
