Can't tell you how great this is. I'm loving this feeling. My alcohol laced Super Bowl party in Vegas was so fun. Led the "Sea! Hawks!" chant with hundreds of 12s. Collected my $800 bet that I made last year and soaked it in.

Today I'm rewatching the game. Man... Such a serious expression of "go fuck yourself". So rediculous. I love this team. Can't wait for the parade! Go Hawks!

It was another great effort in all three phases. That's the second time in row. Harvin, what a competitor. He had great effort and I'm really excited for our next match. We're in complete control of our destiny and have an opportunity to all but wrap up the entire conference in two weeks.

What a great time to be a seahawk fan.

Everyone knows how to do better on 3rd down? Do better on 2nd down. Let's avoid the untimely penalties and keep rolling. Im actually not disappointed w the loss. The boys played hard and got beat by a really good team w an incredible QB. As long as they keep getting better and healthier I'll be happy. Go hawks!

I think the refs played a minor role. Now, def there were some awful calls but that's true w every game. Start converting 3rd downs and hitting paydirt and they're really hard to stop.

Anyways, the team did well and they just came across an amazingly talented team that had a couple more plays go their way. Luck was amazing. Even when we got pressure he'd make a miracle throw. I'm proud of the boys and ready to join the crowd at the Clink.

What an excellent game. Down in the dumps. Spark of hope. RW3 doing what he does best. Oline looked terrible, D had trouble w the 10AM start, crowd noise, or something along those lines in the first half. Oh yeah, BEAST MODE. My god... He was electric today.

Personally I think our Oline remains our biggest (and sometimes glaring) weakness. It started this way last year as the Oline had to learn how Wilson scrambles when coverage is good or protection breaks down. I feel like it's our edges that are normally getting exposed and I don't see our backs doing enough to help the line out. Now, I also think short crossing routes could alleviate that pressure a little. Tate is do talented when catching in stride. Be nice to see more of that. He's so damn dangerous in space.

Great to see our roster counted as one of the most talented when just 3 years ago we were the ones fighting for scraps! Remember the turnover, my god.

This year, to me, isn't about talent or ability or schemes... it's about a few thing.

Does RW continue his accent to being a dominate force as a QB or does he face the dreaded slump? I think there is a really strong chance that he moves in the right direction. Same head coach, o-coordinator, o-line, and mostly the same WRs (Tate, Rice, Baldwin).

Inuries, we're deep but attrition can kill a season. Nothing we can do but hold our breath.

PC. If PC doesn't go all crazy and call dumb timeouts, go for it on 4th when it's not necessary (or at lease convert them more often, my god that killed me last year)! I think this is our wild card... can PC keep it together??

I agree. Plus, for all the money we've thrown at rushing the passer (w relatively moderate production) it's nice to see a tenacious young guy earn his spot and hopefully make it to the top.

One guy you hadn't mentioned much about is Williams. That guy has been tremendous and appears to be a physical big man with a knack for making big plays... Like a tall Tate.

Kearse gets the nod for most improved Mayer on the roster. After last year I was ready to give up on him (obvious why my nfl coaching career hasn't taken off) but he's been great this preseason. Caught every ball in his zip code and is very smart after the catch. Unbelievably I think the Harvin signing is looking evermore like the cherry on top of a very talented and deep WR group.

As always, great article.

Mayowa, McGrath, and Farwell are my 3 I'm hoping we keep more than anyone.

Mayowa is interesting project but, to me, hasn't been super impressive against starting O-lines (however limited they may be) but against 2s and 3s he's been beastly. Maybe a bigger same size would help.

McGrath... What can you say. For such a hard nosed SOB its impressive to see some of the catches and YACs he's had. Really like this dude.

Farwell.... You summed it up. Special Teams superman! We have a great special teams unit and that's due, in large part, to him.

Great game against the Broncos. Man the 12th man was pumped. Couldn't believe how loud it was in the stadium. Rewatching the game at home I notice that we're still not getting any pocket pressure. If we leave good QBs back there all day were gonna get picked apart. Hopefully PC and co get this fixed.

He's a manimal, no doubt about it but last year was weird. I can recall at least 3 times where his speed and instincts led him to an easy interception but his hands failed him. I dont kknow if this was him looking downfield before securing the ball or just an abiration but I hope he gets his hands back. He's a monster.

It'll be interesting to see what shakes out w our WRs. Harvin being out certainly changes the story and Wilson coming into his second year will also change things. I'm betting that the guys who build the best chemistry w Wilson will be given a huge leg up.

I hope the passing game continues its development of last year and we get more pressure on the QB. Will be interesting to see where this all goes.

I think PC and Co realize they have to be better. Game time mistakes and not utilizing your players are crucial issues that I believe cost us a game or two last year. Can't be dropping games when the Niners are as good as they are. 11 wins probably won't win the devision again this year.

Also, lets get our road game put together. My god, 3-5 is awful. That being said, I have season tickets and loved being there last year for all 8 wins (plus one in the preseason). So frigging awesome.

1 year, 8 months ago on The "E" Word

Let me play devils advocate a little. I love the Hawks but lets not get blinded on what happened throughout the year that really cost us...

1. Bevel.

Anyone remember how many shots we had at the Cards endzone that first game... we should have pounded that through with Beast Mode... obviously there were things like this that happened several times. Has anything changed?

2. Coaching.

PC and Bevel are to blame. We had a QB that was awesome during preseason but they slowly brought along a superstar. Were they right to take it so slow or should they have trusted him more earlier? No doubt now that they're fully vested but would that trust turned the tides on the first Lions or first Rams game?

3. Pass Rush

We haven't had a great pass rush since the PC era. Why do any of these signings or moves make us more hopeful then the ones before, are we being homers?

4. Number 3

I'm as big as a believer as anyone in RW. That being said, there's a lot going on that we never see. DId he get lazy, did his gold fish die, did his wife start talking about adoption? There's all sorts of unknowns with every player on this team. RW, as calm as he appears, can succumb to the sophomore slump. Its happened every year... lets hope it does't hit him.

@12HawkFan12 I think at the time the 4th down attempt looked like a good idea. It's one of those things that if it works he's a genius, if not he's a bum. The 2nd time isn't on him. That dude in the center blew right up into Wilson's grill on 3rd down.

I think PC is still learning... I'm sure he'll continue to do that. However this one was won and the D let it go... again. Like you said. Bummer, but next season will be great.

I'm all over the place with this game. Super confident... very nervous. I see a lot of our young guys getting the jitters, at least a few of the key ones should be OK (Wilson, Beast, Rice, Sherman, Unger, Thomas) but several of the young guys might be a little nervous. I think Wilson, with his insane prep, will be calm... I've never seen him look rattled. The vets should be fine too.

I wonder how the Skins will feel.... they just got done with a big game... maybe there's an emotional let down? Maybe they already have felt the heat and won't be nervous... I don't know. All I know is I'm very excited and can't wait to see how our boys do. Go Hawks!

SEA-HAWKS! That game was too close for comfort. Untimely penalties seemed to ruin and rhythem we had and Wilson was getting murdered. Time to see what STL did and apply that to RG3... While fixing what we can to protect RW next week. I'm glad were playing the Skins, I think the matchup between the two rookies is gonna be great and I think we're more talented in almost every way. I'm so very proud to be a hawks fan, what a great turn around we've seen under Pete Carol and Co. Sherman continues to be a terror in the corner. I can't believe they avoid him all day and then try that futile pass at the end! WTF are you thinking Bradford?

I hate to get too far ahead of ourselves but there's a decent chance of us actually taking the #2 spot in the NFC. Don't laugh... we just need the Giants and GB to each lose one game (assuming we take the division next week). If we do take the division then we end up a 3rd seed I'd guess because New York has a brutal 3 game schedule. Here's to hoping!

He's great for the Hawks and has made going to the games so much more fun. Can't tell you how great it's been going 6-0 this season... specially after the last couple of seasons.

Also, lets hand it to Bevel for learning. If Wilson is on fire and the game is on the line we don't need to be running it. We were in the same situation last week against the Fins and Bevel blew it... he clearly is learning with the rest of the team. And that is something I really appreciate! Great job Bevel (I'm sure he's reading and cares about my opinion right?).

Well the seahawks continue to impress at home. Wilson needs the bye week to really figure out why he was holding the ball so long. You get 3 seconds, make a decision and stick with it, run, throw, throw away, or sack. Anything is better then losing the ball. Anyway, the D looked good but that is a given against the awful offense of the Jets. My season tickets have been great this year.

Our supposedly elite defense has let us down again. 3 games in a row. Not good, we put up enough points against the Lions to beat them. Our D let us down. We need to generate some real pressure on the QB so those 2nd, 3rd and 4th options are no longer options.

We die by the checkdowns.

I can't jump off the bandwagon yet. Fact is he didn't put up mediocre numbers in preseason, they were really pretty good. Flynn's numbers we're dismal. That point aside I think this game we we're almost surely to lose before passes started skipping out of hands.

*The Niners just got embarrassed 4 days before on their home turf in a game that was supposed to be a revenge game.

*The Hawks were coming off an emotional come from behind victory against the best offense in the NFL. The let down was similar to what we saw after the GB game (this tends to be true with many young teams).

*We played away (not our strong suit)

*We played away on a thursday. The short turn around sucks for the away team. Home teams are 5-1 on TNF this year.

That was before the first snap!

Now once the game started we had a few things going against us.

*Rookie QB facing a home team with some of the best pass rusher in the business.

*A terrible 'off day' for receivers. There's no excuse for those drops. That is a complete waste of time and it doesn't help a defense that's hoping for a few minutes of breather time.

*Nice play calling Bevel!! You dip shit, this reminded me of the Rams game. We can move the ball at will on the ground and have zero success through the air but you're calling for passes on 3rd and short. If your QB is a rookie who's playing like crap and your probowl RB is pounding the defense then you run. Over and over and over. Jesus man, haven't you learned!

Anyways, I understand the Wilson criticism but he responds well to adversity. I expect this team to recover and put the hurt on the Lions. Fact is, no one expected this (rookie QB) to be an instant success. Y'all entitled to your opinion but this particular fan is gonna hold out. Rookie QBs are a work in progress. They face one of the best Ds in the game, on a 4 day turnaround, after and emotional win, on the road... I'm actually surprised it was that close.
