Lou Hudson was my favorite player. He was a great scorer but played an all-around game, did everything well. I tried to pattern myself after his game. When I finally convinced myself to try to shoot like him, keeping that elbow in, I became a much better shooter. He was a joy to watch. Hawks had a great team when I first saw him play, finished 2nd in the Western Conference two years in a row. Then Pete Maravich arrived and management did not handle things very well. Pete should have had to earn playing time and a starting spot with such a successful team but they just put him in the lineup right away. Despite the lackluster results Pete and Lou were exciting to watch. I know Lou was not happy but it didn't effect him on the court as he always played hard. Very conistent player who I consider one of the most underrated players in NBA history. Easily could have been in the Top 50.
