Perhaps, and I don't mean this to be condescending, but perhaps you're part of the old-new media. Perhaps the death of the traditional media isn't the birth of blogs and social media. The events chronicled by reddit were far more timely and accurate for the most part than anything put on tv or even on blogs. The crowd sourcing of this horror was unlike anything I've ever seen.
