@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status Harden didnt choke in a lot of series for us, he was actually great. He didnt have a good finals thats for sure. Just like westbrook had an awful conference finals that year. Harden far from choked in getting us to the finals in the spurs series. Def didnt play good this year in the blazers series, but overall he has done very well in the playoffs. And you are being extremely unfair bc look at the guys u have ahead of him what did they do in the playoffs? Many of them didnt make it or if they did "choked" themselves. I get you dont want to admit how good he is and now that he isnt on the team its funny how he all of a sudden sucks and ty lawson is better than him. Just crazy how far out there a lot of people are going to try and justify the trade. We could have paid him easy. And they'd have still made profit. The lux tax line has actually gone up more than expected, wouldnt have had to pay that much tax. The notion that they couldnt have paid them all is just false. They could pay everyone on the team a max and still have enough money to live on for 10,000 years.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status yeah except some opinions are very supportable. I can say thabo is better than kd but obviously nothing to support that. Same with lawson and many others over harden. Yes outside of harden when ur next best players are parsons, lin, asik, delfino, garcia, so on that really actually is terrible. The highest per among those was like 15, thats prob not even league average. Lin isnt good, and asik is so so limited. He had to do everything for that team. Obviously someone is going to put up some numbers, but I think we can agree those guys arent good players.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status Harden played as good of defense as wbrook or durant when he was at okc. In the playoffs especially he did a good job. He would have been fine defensively for us, and also the most talented scoring sg in the league. To suggest brooks would rather have a borderline d-league player (not even really borderline) in thabo, roberson, or whoever at the 2 bc they are better defensively is crazy.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status But yeah outside of harden that team was laughably devoid of talent. They had a solid 2nd year guy in parsons, and their next top scorers were lin, patrick patterson, delfino, asik, morris, douglas, and garcia. Half of those or more shouldnt be in the nba and some arent I believe.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status I wrote something extremely long and then lost it all. Having rose ahead of harden is truly hilarious. Rose has been beyond atrocious against international level play until today where he was solid. Rose was one of the worst players in the nba before injury again last year. Until he comes back and proves something he isnt in any discussion. Some of the reasons you listed for harden u didnt like are nonsense. Inconsistent on his shot? Who isnt? Certainly many of the guys u listed above are very much so, and harden is as efficient as they come. Aldridge isn't close to harden he was as inefficient as any pf starter last year. Also lillard lawson arent in the same tier of offensive player, and lillard is worse defensively. Also he may suck on d, but so do lillard, curry, lawson, cousins, carmelo, and he is better than every single one of them offensively. Duncan dirk and gasol dont have any argument at this point in their careers. Dirk is a liability on defense as well. Ofcourse they could have paid harden and everyone else. They would have had to pay some tax likely, but without question they could have built the team around them.

No, it isn't exaggeration. No team would truly be able to play with us. The difference between our sgs and harden now is ten plus games, and one of the best teams in nba history year in and out. We took a team in the spurs a few years ago who had won 20 something in a row, playing at the highest level possible, and beat them 4 straight. Harden, kd, ibaka, wbrook, jackson all are better than they were then. It wouldnt even be funny how good they would be. To fail to acknowledge it is just lying to yourself. And as far as adams goes he will obviously be a solid piece on the team. Someone who provides a role in rebounding, playing hard, and finishing around the rim. He will never be close to a star, or an all nba talent, or stud, he will just be better than our other options.

Look at what harden did his first year going to the rockets. There are only a very very few players that could have taken that team to the playoffs in the west. That roster outside of him was as bad as there was in the league essentially. Cousins can't win 25 games and you are putting him ahead of harden. But yet u are bashing harden for losing in the playoffs.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status kd, lbj, russ, cp3, curry, love, griffin, and maybe davis even though not quite buying him yet as much as others I think are the only players u can make an argument for over harden. And def a case to be made for harden over love griffin curry. Adams and mcgary at their ceilings will be mid level role players. 6th-7th guys on a team that add something to help in their way. Adams will prob be a 6-8 type player that plays good d and hustles, brings some toughness. It's not like him or mcgary will be something that isn't literally a dime a dozen, or something u couldnt find relatively easy in free agency. Losing harden didnt kill us, and we are still very good, but it took us from what would have been miles and away the best team, to a top 3 team capable of winning it each year.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status if we had kept them all it wouldnt be a window to win a championship, it would be a gigantic door that we rammed multiple championships in and destroyed everyone every year. Teams truly couldn't even compete with them at this point if they had remained together. They would be beating everyone 4-1 4-2 at the most.

@Durantacula @DanielLawler @Tricia Status sigh... Harden is no doubt a top ten player. Its not close. Well yeah we wouldnt really need jackson with harden. Also jacksons role would be much smaller and he wouldnt garner much attention the open market anyway. And it was/is very possible to have kept those 4.

@Tricia Status no one saying anything about being doomed. Its just clear making profit is the number 1 goal for the ownership group as evidenced by their actions. They can still win it and may go on to win many, but it's also very possible the unwillingness to go into the luxury tax will cost us not only harden, but kd and wbrook, as well as many championships. When they traded away a top 10 player for nothing they essentially gave away any argument they should be respected or taken seriously as owners. Whether people want to gloss over the trade and move on or not, reality is it will even if we win one or two, go down as one of the most franchise altering moves in sports history.

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler Yeah I also thought we should have kept that Harden bum, shows what I know

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler no that would be great. I'd prefer that. But he cant play 48 minutes. Adams cant either. So I would say our centers are well well below average, giving him a spot. So basically what I am saying is Thabeet is the only center that is worse than perk in the league imo, and hes the only other option to take his minutes. So I guess for now he does have his role. But he is being massively overused, and we should prep mcgary, go small more, get adams better, and pick up another big possibly, and let perk go after this contract.

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler Normally even vs those teams we will be much worse on offense with him in the game. I agree those stats look nice for one 6 game series. But we know we are worse with him in the game on offense.

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler Read what I said. He only has value to a team with other horrific bigs. meaning he has some value to us bc we dont have a lot of options so he has to play sometime

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler his value on d doesnt outweigh his non value on offense. We are like negative 9 pts per 100 possessions when he is on the floor on offense, and 1.7 better on d. So overall he is contributing in a big time negative way.

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler He only has value to a team with other horrific bigs and no alternatives. But if you have an adequate big or bigs, he should never see the floor. But for us he should play 10-12 mins every so often in certain situations.

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler Yeah he has a place for 10-12 minutes a game every blue moon. And mostly we just dont have great bigs which is a reason he sees the floor at all. But  I would part ways with him after this contract

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler Yeah again we all know 99 percent of the time we are much better when perk isnt on the floor, and much better on offense. So taking his 18 minutes a game in one series and making it like he has serious value is not right.

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler He's still very slow footed and his pnr defense leaves a lot to be desired. He is just too inept in way too many areas, and against too many teams, for him to be our starting center. He is as bad of a player advanced wise as you will find. And in that case advanced stats are accurate.

3 weeks ago on Yakkem

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler Having players like Perkins and Thabo contribute hugely to why we struggled so much to score in that series though. His good d in his matchups dont outweigh his huge negatives on offense and he also sucks rebounding the ball normally.

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler No he wasn't good. He was just good for him. He is offensive, but he's not offensive

Reply

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler His standards are so low that we are shocked and celebrate if he can just catch a basic pass and make a wide open layup. I mean we really do consider that to be playing good for him. If he doesn't miss a dunk or fumble the ball 5 times in a row, he's playing good. Watching him is like pulling teeth. He is the most inept off player in the league. And overall he is just a gigantic negative.

Now, could the Thunder actually have been a player for him? Not really. The Thunder don’t have enticing sign-and-trade assets, at least in terms of matching salary (no, the Pistons don’t want Kendrick Perkins).

I don't know why but I thought this was hilarious. I imagine many people on here immediately thought of Perkins before they read that last sentence.

They have wayne having a much better year than maclin and thats hard to see. Wayne will be the number 2 at best, even though hilton is more of a slot type, and wayne just coming off a major injury, plus he is old. I have wayne so that would be awesome if he hit 1100 yards like they have him projected to hah
