@RRRWHOAAAA He has been really poor in preseason though. Just nothing about him seems to really translate. I know hes active and a good rebounder, but I dont think he will be able to just bully his way for rebounds and putbacks. He doesn't have a jumpshot, cant play d, short arms, and depends way too much on his strength for points. I don't think he will be much better than a Thomas Robinson type guy.

I know I said this the other day but have been arguing since midway through the college season with a friend of mine about julius randle. I think he is going to be just God awful, my friend thinks he is going to be a top few pf pretty quickly. Anyone else think that's nonsense?
7 hours, 56 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@_justin @DanielLawler @Jooseppi @RRRWHOAAAA I think if a guy only plays on year, you should look a little less at college productivity, like a Drummond or something. But when a guy plays 2-3 years it becomes even more relevant in evaluating.

I get people are criticizing that we only got Morrow, but I really really like Morrow. I think he has a big role on this team and his shooting/scoring will be the difference in some games for us. Definitely more important player for us than maybe he'd be for some teams.
8 hours, 8 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@DTVirgin @Jooseppi @ThePorkChopExpress @RRRWHOAAAA Not sure if he'd shoot much better from three, just bc his numbers are so high to begin with.
8 hours, 9 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
has Perry Jones actually looked really good in preseason? I know he turned it over like 44 times last game but his scoring numbers at least have looked good the last couple. I haven't seen those games though.
8 hours, 11 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@_justin @DanielLawler @Jooseppi @RRRWHOAAAA I think beasley mainly just had issues, but the talent was there. All you can really do is judge guys on talent and upside and if you're wrong you're wrong. I like wesley johnson coming out of college, he's been garbage. I liked harrison barnes a decent bit, he's been disappointing. I have been right on many guys and wrong on many.
8 hours, 12 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@_justin @DanielLawler @Jooseppi @RRRWHOAAAA Yeah everyone is right and wrong about players all the time. Some pan out some don't. All of this is opinion, just saying I felt like watching beal he'd eventually be a good shooter in the nba.
8 hours, 15 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@Jooseppi @_justin @DanielLawler @RRRWHOAAAA yeah pj hairston was a horrible shooter his first year at ncar, but they talked about how he was one of the better pure shooters in high school, and that roy williams said he was one of the best shooters he'd seen. Sometimes percentages don't always tell how good a shooter will be especially first year. Sometimes you have to look past it.
8 hours, 17 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@_justin @DanielLawler @Jooseppi @RRRWHOAAAA well definitely some guys dont pan out. Beal always looked like a great shooter, was one in high school, and just from watching him as the year went on appeared to be a guy who would soon be a great shooter in the nba. Just thoughts on it, never was a fact he'd be a great nba shooter. But most assumed he would and I assumed he would. He has more talent than lamb, more athleticism. The hype around lamb was never what it was with beal
8 hours, 19 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@_justin @DanielLawler @Jooseppi @RRRWHOAAAA had a great shot, had multiple big time shooting games, and shot extremely well in the tourney and towards the end of the year. He was a freshmen, took him some time to settle in, but was clear from watching him he was a great shooter.
8 hours, 23 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@RRRWHOAAAA percentage wise at .339 for beal he wasn't, but he was young and started coming on more. The scouts knew he could shoot and would be a great shooter, but numbers wise his 3 pt shooting wasn't great.
8 hours, 29 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@Jooseppi @RRRWHOAAAA Beal was a guy you could tell was a great shooter though or would be.

@anonymous12345 @DanielLawler @durantulous I don't give a damn about Houston, I do care about this team, and it definitely hurt us as far as ultimate goals. We can still win it, just not nearly as many times as we would have, or not nearly as simply.
8 hours, 32 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@anonymous12345 @DanielLawler @durantulous They'd be significantly better, especially in the postseason when teams had to attempt to cover all three players. Just would be so hard to deal with.
8 hours, 33 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@anonymous12345 @Jooseppi @durantulous @DanielLawler I don't think there can be an overreaction to not paying Harden. Pretty much any reaction is justified considering how massive and game-changing it was
8 hours, 34 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@_justin @King of Carrot Flowers the third that's always seemed obvious to me but seems like no one else thinks so
8 hours, 36 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@DTVirgin @_justin @King of Carrot Flowers the third I think from what harden said he made it pretty clear he wanted to be here, and was shocked and hurt when they gave him very little time and shipped him out. Him and kd were close and he'd be here no doubt if they'd given him the max. But they didn't
@Jooseppi @anonymous12345 @durantulous @DanielLawler yeah and he picked them to win it last year on air. He has no bias towards us, its just common sense when a team trades away an elite player at 23 or however old he was, that you would be blown away by the owners and that's all you'd want to talk about.
8 hours, 39 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@durantulous @DanielLawler You wouldn't call thinking the owners should have paid harden fair? It completely computes with reality. If the owners paid him he'd be here. The roster is still good no one said it wasn't, but it'd be significantly better with harden, which is the whole point. The team will be good as long as they have kd and russ, but I think all fans would have rather kept this team together and built something historically special
8 hours, 41 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@durantulous @Sustainable Parameters He thinks the owners are cheap and can back it up, and paying the tax in our case to keep harden would have without a doubt equaled success. Simmons says dumb things, and probably has gone on to much about it all but definitely fair criticisms
8 hours, 43 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@durantulous @DanielLawler the first one isn't bs, its extremely fair. And the other is his opinion, and a fair one. If someone disagrees that's fair too on the 2nd point, but nothing outrageous
8 hours, 47 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@durantulous which ones? The ones about harden? Or the ones about them not doing enough this offseason?
8 hours, 48 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@King of Carrot Flowers the third Adams>Asik
8 hours, 50 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler @rednuht @Jooseppi @DTVirgin I think he was saying they didn't get a piece with that pick but instead drafted a bum and stuck him in the dleague. I am not saying I agree but not what he's saying. Basically saying it was a chance to have someone who could contribute now and that's what kd wants and everyone wants
8 hours, 51 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@rednuht @Jooseppi @DTVirgin no it's not. Simmons has said many times that he thinks what okc has done with harden and in general isn't fair to wbrook and kd. Which is why he personally wants him to leave. Harden was great and one of kds best friends. If he does leave it will ultimately come back to that, and you really couldn't blame him
8 hours, 54 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@DTVirgin @Jooseppi well what they could have done better was keep one of their top 5 picks, and a top few nba player and not traded him for one year of kmart, a dleaguer in lamb, and adams.
8 hours, 56 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler @_justin he was bad, and had a bad drpm, but wasn't the worst. Calderon considerably worse. Harden is worse even though a sg.
9 hours, 1 minute ago on Lessons from preseason
@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @_justin I'd take as pgs russ, curry, paul, wall, parker, probably irving, lowry, dragic, lawson over him in no order. He's really close with a few of them. Conley in there somewhere as well.
9 hours, 2 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler @_justin nah not league worst. But really poor.
9 hours, 5 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler @_justin yeah I'd probably have him personally closer to 25-26
9 hours, 6 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @_justin where is lillard 16? On espn?
9 hours, 7 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@f5alcon @Jooseppi @DanielLawler and be 10 times worse on defense
9 hours, 8 minutes ago on Lessons from preseason
@Tvaddic @DanielLawler what's funny is how much okc fans kill simmons for going on constantly about the harden trade. But think about if lets say like if another great team at the age of 23-4 traded away a top few scorer and player. Everytime u saw that team in the playoffs, reg season, or we're discussing them you would immediately think and say I can't believe they traded so and so. It really is still the thing with this team. It's been some time now, but definitely a big time history altering move.

Lowe: We did these rankings before Durant broke his foot, but I can’t decide if letting Westbrook run wild for 15 or 20 games might somehow make the Thunder more watchable — at least until we get tired of the Westbrook Show.
Simmons: I hate losing Durant for six to eight weeks from League Pass exactly as much as I love Westbrook saying night after night, “Don’t worry, guys, I got this.” Maybe it’s a wash.
Lowe: We might see Westbrook crack 30 field goal attempts in one or two games.
Simmons: Or 12. In general, I’d boycott the Thunder if I didn’t love watching Durant and Westbrook so much. We just watched the Thunder miss the Finals because OKC had to play a washed-up Derek Fisher, in crunch time, in its biggest playoff games. What happened this summer? They turned two 2014 first-rounders, some cap space and Kendrick Perkins’s Expiring Contract into Mitch McGary, Anthony Morrow, a D-Leaguer, and Kendrick Perkins’s Expiring Contract. Anthony Morrow. That was your big move, OKC???? Zach — click on this link for me.
Lowe: Umm … Wow. This just got serious. Look, using a first-round pick on Josh Huestis and sending him to the D-League would grate a bit if I were Durant. That’s one potential contributor down the drain until next season. But the Thunder have a ton of unproven young guys, and they’re only about $2 million below the tax line. Paying the rookie scale for Huestis and signing someone with the full midlevel would have taken them over the tax — and hard-capped them.
This is the part where you mention that they could, you know, just pay the tax.
Simmons: They could just pay the tax.
Lowe: And two years ago, they traded Harden to duck it. But with the cap and tax climbing, they would have paid it in likely only a single season. They are concerned about the roster-building restrictions that come with paying the tax, but your point is fair. Also, their TV guys have become increasingly aggressive homers as the team has gotten better and better. They have an “us against the world” tone that almost makes me uncomfortable. The court and jerseys are horrific.
Simmons: And also, they could have, you know, just paid the tax. The good news is, Clay Bennett and Aubrey McClendon will probably clear $40 million in profit this season. When is someone selling #freedurant T-shirts? I want one.

Jaelen Strong is going to be a great nfl wr
@00000000 @Old Man Game @ThunderMoneyBall @d21 he might can not be horrible if hes limited to like 2-3 minutes.
@00000000 @Old Man Game @ThunderMoneyBall Steady at being ass hah
@00000000 @DanielLawler they have the most talent. And the best defense. If their offense can click like it did today they are. They have the best wr and rb duo talent wise and nfl talent wise. One big thing is if they continuing running the read with Sims it will make our offense miles better. As long as the offense has it going they're better than miss st. If not, going to be tough.
@00000000 @King of Carrot Flowers the third well luck is considered the best prospect in 25 years by most. I didn't necessarily agree though. And Mariota has it all. Playing in a system doesn't make you only a system qb. If manning played in a "system" in college wouldn't have made him any less great. What don't you like about Mariota skill wise
Assuming miss st and alabama don't lose in the next couple weeks, and I doubt they do, that miss st bama game will be huge. I assume bama at home will be a 5 or so pt favorite, but I wouldn't feel very confident. Miss st is scary
@El Prez @DanielLawler yeah and while I do think its close/arguable who is the best, wvu getting kst and tcu at home makes me lean them. Plus I think they are possibly better anyway
@00000000 @DanielLawler no I'm saying it was at fsu, they were significantly outgained. It was a game that without a bogus call imo they lose at home. I think you can make a good case notre dame was better in that game. And a good case they would beat them on a neutral field. I came away thinking they looked better. They can run the ball, their d looks better to me.
@El Prez @DanielLawler yeah wvus d was great today though. Tcu's did give up 61 and 800 yards almost. All of the teams d's are good enough with their offenses to win any given game though.
@King of Carrot Flowers the third yeah like I said below going with wvu. Should be interesting. I think they have more talent than those 2 plus get tcu and kst at home
Who is everyone taking to win the Big 12?
@Old Man Game @00000000 I like mariota a lot more. He is actually legit for the nfl. I used to think he wasn't but clearly has it all. Never makes mistakes, so fast, extremely accurate, poised.
@00000000 @DanielLawler well they were at home, gave up a lot more yards, and were a non call and 4 yards away from losing. Being at home combined with that would allow you to make a good case notre dame is the better team if they played neutrally and or played a series.
@00000000 @DanielLawler Yeah dont get me wrong a win is a win. Good comeback and they did what they needed to. But def just seem despite winning games that they aren't that great this year. Looking at the ok st game, nc st, clemson even though without jameis, and tonight, they have really not looked great
