@KevinDeLury Well for starters that post hardly seemed reflective of the writing of a "proud Republican". I have no problem with you getting on Dolan's case, you do it all the time and as a supportive member of the fan base you have every right to do so, we all do. However, your opening up a completely different can of worms when your bring his private affairs, specifically on the topic of politics, into a hockey based website. It would be one thing to bash the guy had he made the donation under the MSG/Cablevision name, but it was his own money so let it be. All Im saying was that I disagree with your decision to bring politics to this website

Your really going to get on Dolan's case now because he's donating to a party you clearly do not believe it? $35,000 hardly reflects any sort of added income Dolan would see from increased ticket prices and if he wants to donate his own money to a cause he believes in then good for him. Hey, and while I know you think Dolan isnt the best owner around, at least he realizes a national problem when he sees it and is attempting to fix it.
Lets stay away from politics here Kevin, it will only separate a fan base that this blog is intended to unite
@brianiof @KevinDeLury Yes, I am both a Ranger or Knick fan hence why I am on the blog. First, Im not exactly sure how you measure a good owner for the fan. If you are referring to the recent price increases in tickets, then no he is not, but then under that premise neither are the Johnsons, Steinbrenners, Maras, or any other owner who opens a new arena and is inevitably forced to raise ticket prices under this new-age inflated system thats consumed the sporting world as a whole. I do not think Dolan by any means is a great owner (i.e. Cuban, Steinbrenner) nor do I think he ever will be. However, he has continued to expand the MSG empire throughout his tenure into one of the most successful and biggest entertainment conglomerates out there. I certainly think his handling of the GM situation for both teams over the year has been sub-par, but at the end of the day the MSG Company is doing better than ever and I'm certainly happy that I have an owner who is willing to constantly shell out money for whatever player is needed to win. Can't say that about many teams these days..

@KevinDeLury @brianiof Why Dolan is constantly scrutinized under the New York media spotlight every time he so much as leaves the seat up in the bathroom, he is no different than every other owner/CEO of every sports francise (and most mainstream companies) in existence, except for the lack of championships under his reign, which if you compare to the rest of owners amongst the 4 leagues, he is right on Par in terms of success. Yes, I agree price increases are far from showing your fan base love and appreciation, but its a necessary step (just as every other fan base receiving a new arena experiences) when pumping 1billion into a project designed to enhance and better the fan experience at games. At the end of the day Dolan is running a business, the goal is to maximize profit, and anyone who is says they wouldn't try and do the same is either lying or has no real understanding of what it takes to be successful in the world.
