@McPhee37 @Gorangers0525 Speaking of coincidences: 24 beers in a case, 24 hours in the day - coincidence?

Thank you, Kevin. To paraphrase what was said about JFK - Kevin, I hardly knew you! But what I did know of you, I appreciated and enjoyed, even if I haven't often made it clear. Thank you, again, and best of luck in all you do.

To add to the celebratory spirit - please, PLEASE, Pretty PLEASE, go to Amazon.com and order this:

Right for a Reason: Life, Liberty, and a Crapload of Common Sense by Miriam Weaver (Author), Amy Jo Clark (Author).

One of these ladies is my daughter, so, admittedly, I am biased when I say that the book will enter the literary canon of the Western Civilization (or not.)

Five games suspension is fewer than I thought he'd receive. Moore should be contrite and grateful for leniency - making a personal apology to the victim of the hit would be more than appropriate.

SayMyName modestly excluded a portion of the interview, in which he described the time he and McD went on a fishing trip to Canada and returned with only one fish. "The way I figure it," said McD, "that fish cost us $400."

"Well," said SMN, "At that price it's a good thing we didn't catch any more."

@Say my Name Do you have a unique recipe for latkes? Channukah is coming, you know. By the way, are you saying that in order to hide a dead hooker you need a large bowl and salt? Please be specific as one never knows when a recipe like that may come in handy.

I have to disagree with Kevin - may G-d forgive me. I think the proposed lines are actually very good; there's power and finesse well distributed. As to all the Girardi haters (maybe doubters, if haters is too strong a word), it was his work against Carolina that allowed the Rangers to eke out a victory.

@Hotfreak @genetics73 @Say my Name @Gianni74 @GiveGartneraCup Having been accused of mysogyny, I hasten to dispel such an evil notion. To prove that my "---gyny" is an all-encompassing one, here is the evidence.

A Blond Man

Three men are talking about their wives....
One says...
My wife is so stupid that she bought a $12 K car, and she can't even drive...
The second man says...
My wife is so stupid that when a recipe calls for 12 eggs to be beaten in separately, she uses 12 different bowls...
And the blond man says...
And MY wife is so stupid that when she went alone on a European vacation, she took with her 12 packs of condoms...and she doesn't even have a penis!

@IhaveawaiteratMSG @gravey94 Funny how Bryan Boyle is now an example of a good hockey player. Last season, he was a victim of the Boyle Derangement Syndrome. It is true what they say: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." I do hope his replacement is as good as he is.:)

As to the last night's game - I liked Hayes centering Nash and MSL. I think this line has potential, at least till Stepan returns.

@gravey94 @AdamSchneberg All very true regarding brain development, with the caveat that in some people the brain never quite develops - witness our representatives in Congress and in the Administration. On that basis, I propose that Duclair runs for an elected position. Too bad that because of his young age he doesn't qualify for the presidency, yet. I envision him telling his opponents: "I've upped my standards. Now, up yours."

@Wallace1 It's a well-known fact that the more one eats, the more energy one consumes to digest the food. Thus, one can become svelter by conscientious eating of large quantities. Needless to say, drinking helps. As my mother used to say: "Alcohol in moderation is good in any amount."

I know that preseason games aren't terribly meaningful, but I saw NJ as being much quicker and hungrier than the Rangers. I thought the Rangers' passing wasn't very crisp, and must say that Hayes didn't make a great impression - he probably should spend a year in the AHL. For me the standouts were JT Miller and Ryan Malone.

@BobDunne @genetics73 @Say my Name @TomDundie @EHBIGAPPLE @johnAMIRANTESrug I take it all as a compliment, but what exactly IS a Group Dubber? Or, maybe, I should get offended - one gets offended so easily these days!

As it is close to dinner time, this may be appropriate:

A young couple get married; neither of them has a job, so the bride cries: what shall we live on? The groom consoles her: we'll live on love....He goes off in search of work, returns in the evening and finds his wife sitting on the radiator. What are you doing, honey, he asks. She replies: i am warming up your supper.
