To be fair to Cheh, I think she felt she was acting in good faith by seeking an outlet for companies like Uber to operate while protecting the interests of cab drivers. Hopefully she realizes that while there is some room for regulating car services in the class of Uber, stifling the growth of an innovative company is NOT it.

Mike Seagraves of WTOP reported Cheh has agreed to pull the language from the amendment and reconsider Uber in a separate bill in Novemeber.
@JoshZecher It's five times the current drop rate of $3.00 which would allow them to comply with their current offered services but prevents any further innovation a la Uberx.
