I cant think of the words to describe how sad the whole story is. Whether its PTSD or schizophrenia, taking all those meds and drinking hard liquor and smokin weed will make it exponentially worse. Trying to keep sober is key to this kids mental decline. I dont remember if the article stated, did the mom know that Routh was going shooting with Kyle? If she did, she should have told Chris about her sons previous wrecklessness with guns and threatening suicide, etc. I imagine that Chris Kyle still would have taken the kid under his wing, i dont see him turning away another veteran that had lost his way. RIP
I think its pretty naive to be shocked that this is going on, or that the average joe has anything to worry about. What is the difference between this and what Google and Facebook do allready? Just because its the government? At least the NSA isnt selling our data for advertisements (or are they?). I kinda wish they would sift this same data for intel on other things besides just terrorism... drug cartel & border security, organized crime & gangs, human/sex trafficking, and other corruption. And who would complain if they found out that another "Boston Marathon bombing" was prevented because of this program? Thanks for the article LW

Somewhat related- I just first learned about steganography the other day reading Brad Taylor's book "One Rough Man". They explained it pretty well enough that i get the gist. Laura- please update the post if anyone ever figures out what is hidden in the anonymous pic if/when it is cracked in the future. By the way, Brad Taylor's books are pretty kick ass fiction if anyone needs some reading entertainment.

How do we find out the name of the person to originally leak and/or publish his name? When it comes back around to the media, and they see how it feels, maybe they will think twice in the future? i was born and raised in akron, and still live near by. i remember when this happened. this mutant took an MP5 to the face and stayed on his feet! i completely agree with the article. i also believe hitting the pelvis, if possible, can be effective in stopping an advancing threat, and is a much bigger target than the head.

i refuse to join or use Facebook because im not a 10 year old girl. maybe if you post the announcement in a certain way that theres not a bum rush of facebook fans eating up all the precious memberships so fast, us simpletons have a chance to grab a seat. just make the announcement on the website and dont link it to facebook? i dont know. thanks
i once heard a statistic that the marine corps provides 45 percent of the military defense with 10 percent of the total budget. never verified it, but it sounds about right. the marines allways just make do with less, but its good to see that slowly change. these small pieces of kit can make them more effective and efficient and motivated. theres another saying that comes to mind that somewhat applies- "Look good, feel good; Feel good, perform good." or something like that. good article Mr Janson.

@DavidKnuth I was just suprised by the overall grade is all. You did a very detailed review that people here can put faith in, rather than reading some BS from a grocery store gun magazine. I dont understand how a gun that for serious shooters requires an upgraded barrel and trigger, and had FTF and FTE issues, is still considered an A/B grade pistol? I really value the authors opinion, but all those things sound uneconomical and untrustworthy, compared to the glock and others. love my XD45
