I hate to be the bash Sather guy, but am I the only person around here that see's HIM as the main problem???

As long as they have Henrik, Mac D, Stepan & Kreider, as far as I'm concerned, the rest are expendable.

Sather might plan on going with a lineup of 1 forward, 3 defensemen and 2 goalie's.

D Boyle better be great on the power play, because I don't see where the goals are going to come from. The d should be solid but how did they improve up front?? At least now they lead the league with 50 defensemen.

The Rangers would be a better team with 3 guys gone. One is already gone. Nash would be # 2. I think it is obvious now that he is not the scorer that he is being paid to be. He is a big guy who plays a small guys finesse game, and we all see how that works out especially in the playoffs. A good player, definitely. A big time player, definitely not here anyway. #3 Pouliot. That line had good chemistry, but he was not a major reason for that. It also may have been the Rangers top line...that's debatable...but with the Rangers scoring that's not saying much. He has some size, but doesn't play real big. The penalties with him got to the point where I would cringe  if he was on the ice in a big spot. Not a bad player, but the Rangers can do better in the middle of that line.

If Lindberg is one of the best in the WORLD in face-offs, bring him up immediately!!! He can learn the rest of the game from there.

They need 2 or 3 bigger stronger guys in front of the net on both sides of the ice. 2 upfront and 1 on D. I know their D is good, but they get really beat up. Would be nice to have a bruiser back there as a # 3,4, or 5 d-man. Richards will be gone and hopefully Nash too.

And the worst part is that after trying to milk a lead the1st time failed......they still tried it over and over again! Isn't the definition of being stupid when you try something that doesn't work over and over, hoping that it might. Either way, I did not feel that this team was big and strong enough to go the long haul in the playoffs, and they still came pretty close to winning the cup!! That being said... obviously Nash and Richards need to go. They could use some size to play tough in front of both nets. Not too confident Sather can fill their needs tough! Nice job on the blog! Great therapy for me to vent frustrations! Take care and have a GREAT summer.

I never realized Montreal has the biggest mouths in the NHL. And I mean FANS & ORGANIZATION. I can't wait until they lose this series to see their big mouths SHUT.

1st they ALL missed the hit on Stepan, which only happened in the dead middle of the ice, not being bad enough, they call a 2 minute penalty on Carcillo for which I am still trying to figure out WHAT.

Now lets's rush right in and grab Carcillo by the chest....WHO IS DOING NOTHING BUT STANDING THERE WATCHING THE FIGHT!!!!!

Kind of hard for me to blame Carcillo for erupting after this series of events!!!!

@kevin11  This is playoff hockey. Scoring goals of course is important, but just as important is Prust taking liberties with our players.

It's not a matter of getting even.

Why the hell did the ref have to run over and grab Carcillo......who was standing there watching.....in the 1st place?????? The refs and the refs ALONE incited this incident!!!!

I agree with AV benching Pouliot for a game. He definitely is not the strong member of that line and his dopey penalties keep happening at the worst times. One game will not hurt them at all and just might make Pouliot think a little harder!

And he gets  hurt a lot  with that style.  they need  a bigger  gritty type  guy with some skill.

As much as I don't like Sather, gotta hand it to him on this one. This is a no brainer.

@jmc9689  @KevinDeLury If you think Dolan is a good owner FOR THE FAN, you need to have your head examined!!! Are you a Ranger or Knick fan??He took over the Garden which was a very successfull operation and proceeded to run it into the ground....especially the Knicks. I don't doubt that he is lining his pockets, but he is SCREWING the Ranger and Knick fans royally.

Kevin....I couldn't stand Dolan from the second he took over the Garden and got rid of Gutkowski....who only was running the Garden like a well oiled machine....because HE had a better way of doing it!!! Yeah, well we have seen his better way since 1995. You can probably see what I think about him from my previous posts.

As much as I believe that Gaborik is not the playoff scoring guy that is needed, this trade would have been crazy. They still need players to score during the season. It reminds me of tha Yankee bats come playoff time....you still need them to get you there.

This team is full of very talented guys, but still feel they need a true scoring #1 line and/or a power play qb that can score in the playoffs. Even with Gaborik. I don't feel they have either.

Tell me what we are thanking Sather/Dolan for since they have BOTH been running the Rangers? Last year ! One good year in what seems like forever. How about we wait at least until a cup final visit? I feel this team will NEVER win big under these 2. Hope I am wrong....but I don't think so.

Agree with Dudeinski 100%. I totally believe this team will never win big under the Dolan/Sather regime. And although a good year finally, last year...they were 1 game away from a 1st and 2nd round playoff elimination. Not seeing any improvement so far this year, so looks like more of the same.

Sorry James and Kevin...in all do respect I can not trust a guy who is in JD's back pocket. Sather's record speaks for itself! As for Dolan, look at the Knicks...need I say more?  And why do true Ranger fans need to trust Sather? I have been a Rangers fan since 1966, and this stretch (Sather/Dolan) has been amongst the worst. They would need at LEAST a trip to the cup final under this regime and to be honest, I don't see that happening with this group. Yes they do have some good players now both young and experienced, but so do alot of other teams. How much longer do you go with Sather? How many more years do you give him? He's had what...11 years!

Didn't know he was a face-off guy. Needed that badly in the Ottawa series. Good move for the playoffs. Looks like everything covered now for 2,3,4th lines.

Now for a scorer and pp qb.

Agree 1000% with Kevin H and rangersfan.... everyone knows why Sather is still around. He should have been gone a long time ago.  1 good playoff year in 11, and his "eye" for talent just don't cut it!  Am very skepticle to lose Stepan... he seems like that type of player that has IT.(talent/intangibles). Hopefully some combo of Hagelin/Dubi/Artie/Draft Picks for Weber or Nash. Would only throw Del Zots in if Weber coming back.
