Yes yes haha. I do have family members in the military past and present, some are/were SF or SOF. They love the whole bantering people do online about who is the bigger bad ass. I hope the whole military downsizing Nobama is doing doesn't hurt my chance of serving my country.

Nu uh! My dad can beat up your dad!
Oh man, SF is SF and SOF is SOF. Each have their own special nitch in the community.
SEALs/DEVGRU - have the hardest training, love the water and are ninja's.
Delta - see above but can speak different languages and aren't as well versed in the water
MARSOC - is made to be a mix of Berets and SEALs with a little less capabiltys of either unit.
Berets - are trainers.
PJs - save lifes.
Rangers - are infantry on steroids.
EOD - blows s**t up.
Recon is well..... Recon.
MEU - pull security, land on beaches and shoot stuff.
Anyone else missing?
By the way this post is kind of a joke with some seriousness sprinkled on it.
This made me think of Chris. R.I.P brother you were and always will be one of my few heros and inspirations in my life. That pushed me to want to join the Military. Forever in our hearts

1 year, 5 months ago on Can Spec Ops Perform Their Jobs With Less Money and Training?
@Reaper375Thank you Reaper. I did not know Rangers were using Mk 18s.
@Amur'icaAlso true, and good point. I guess the down sizing of our Military will be happening...I wonder how the our Militart will handle it. Less conventional forces? I remember top brass were saying our wars are going to be faught with more Spec op units.
By the way, what unit is the soldier from in the picture above? I know he is not conventional, he must be SF just not sure what unit.
I agree, this spending cut "can" hurt our Spec Op units but let's remember something. Our SF brothers over sea's and abroad do not spend as much as our military does, that is not to say all foreign SF are on par with our SF but some "Israel, Italy, Canada, France, Poland, Australia, New Zeland, UK are almost if not some on par with us. We spent 700 billion dollars last year, in comparison the UK and France spent only 62 to 70 billion dollars. Now I am sure a lot of what we spent it on were wars, but we are America and we will come with new ways to keep our SF top notch above everyone. As long as Nobama doesn't hurt us first. Just my .2 but I am still learning from you guys.
Also this is not me agreeing with Nobama, I do not agree with anything that man does or says. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie and I hope we Impeach him for treason and so much more.
I can't describe how I feel...It takes alot for me to cry.

Probably a stupid question, but who is Steven Faulkner?
@BrandonWebb @Old PH2
Yes please BW! I almost had a bird....
Thank god, I did read the end part of "have a funny military story" thank god this is a joke I would have gone bersek.
This is a joke right?
I just don't understand. When did OPSEC go out they window and what happen to to "Silent Professionals"? I am not saying they aren't, what I am saying is well why is everything so out there now? I was happy to hear UBL was killed. I was happy to hear the Maersk Alabama HR went well and I am proud is was our SEALs. But then it just got out of hand. Why and how? I am still surprised "No Easy Day" was released.

They will always be remembered. Every fallen soldier. The media needs to learn to shut the **** up.
@Tango9 @engelbrad @Canopylight @Chris God knows I want it more than anything! I will get there. I will get it done if I die trying.

Can't wait for this to be fully published! This will be available for iTunes right Chris?
@engelbrad @USNSsquid @Canopylight @Chris @Tango9 Thank you Engel. My dream is to be a SEAL.
@Canopylight @Chris Martin @Tango9 If you guys don't mind me asking, what/is you're military experience. If that is a question I shouldn't ask please let me know. I know OPSEC is important on this site and I don't want get on anyone's nerves. I am just curios and interested. I am joining after college.
@Canopylight @Chris Martin @Tango9 Very informative, thank you. Funny to see a 40 man size platoon of SEALs.
@Canopylight @Chris Martin @Tango9 No I know. I just wanted the opinions on what you guys thought about their primary roles as of date. Example have Green Berets role from FID switched towards DA missions. That's all I meant by it. I know each one can do each mission.
@Canopylight @Chris Martin @Tango9 Again I don't want to annoy anyone with these questions but what role do each Special Forces branch specialize in? For instance, SEALs primary role is..... Green Berets is and so on.
@Chris Martin @Tango9 Are CIFs only Army or are they Multi-Branch, I.E SEALs, Berets, PJs etc?
I have two questions. First one, what are Vanilla SEALs/Teams? I have heard the term before saying it meant SEAL Team 10 to a name the Government and other SOFs call DEVGRU. Second question is CIF? What is CIF?
@Tango9 Thanks T9!
Soooo which selection process is harder to make, DEVGRU or Delta? I know my question was probably answered somewhere in the article or comments but after 300 of the 3543245236 comments my head was going to explode!
1 year, 9 months ago on The Difference Between DELTA and SEAL TEAM SIX
So with all this competition, who do you think is better trained at CQB, DEVGRU or Delta? Both Sides seem to think they have the better CQB unit. This is a question for all. Throw your .02s.
Why doesn't DOD just stop this book from coming out? Honestly...We do not need to know who this happened, how that prick "UBL" was killed, what tactics were used. End this. He is endangering not only DEVGRU but the operators, tactics, family's and not to mention their reputation and name. "Silent professionals" I am sick of this BS getting out. DEVGRU is one of if not the best unit in the world and this stuff gets out like the flu.

@Robertkyle Absolutely, it is good to have someone from the SF community confirm that there is something our SF guys use. And what you explained makes perfect sense. I would not think of it as a one on one fight. You kick in a door and maybe there are 2 or 3 enemies. Military Combatives is not a Martial Art as most put it but an effective way of putting someone down as fast and simple as possible. I just didn't know what the system/s were that the SEALs used specific for their mission. You tend to as I said believe SEALs are in the closest of spaces out of our SF line up. Not to say a GB or Recon Marine wouldn't be in close quarter situations but SEALs seem to fit that perfect CQ mission. You here of SCARS and RAT, CQD the list goes on for what the SEALs use as their Combatives system. I just wanted to know there was something the SEALs use. Thank you very much sir and I plan on joining the SF community as soon as my college year is up.
2 years ago on Russian Combatives System
So I take it I may not get an answer if the SEALs use a Combatives system. I figured they do because out of all of the Special Operators, they probably spend the most time in close quarters than other SF in the US, boarding ships, small confined spaces, oil rigs. If someone could help me out that would help alot. Please and thank you. Read more: http://sofrep.com/8959/russian-combatives-system/#ixzz20OUefHGO
I hope I am not crossing and lines or OPSEC by asking. I don't have to know the name or what exactly the SEALs system is called or details about it. I just want some conformation that there is a US Navy SEALs combatives system they use. Could someone answer that? I come from a military/law enforcement family so I know the rules. I just figured if I asked anybody who would know it would be on this site. HOOYAH!

If there is anywhere I can believe I know it is here. this is the most legit site for SF info.
@PLiner This is what out SEALs train in? Is it part of the Naval Special Warfare Combat Fighting Course? I hear so many stories about what our SEALs train in for their combatives system from CQD by Duane Dieter to SCARS, NSWCFC ect.
I am not sure what system the SEALs use now but I am really interested. I am doing a project on them.
Do we still use the SCARS system?
