@Omer I replied up there by accident. To recap, bacon is a general term referring to various cured pork products. Bacon can be cured from belly in the form of "American Style" bacon, loin, etc. Think of bacon as you would sausage. There are many varieties of sausage (chorizo, polish, italian, breakfast, etc), but all come from the world's most wonderful mammal.

Bacon is more of a general term for any number of cured pork cuts. American bacon is cured from the belly of the pig, while Canadian bacon is cured loin. It's similar to comparing chocolate and vanilla ice cream, both are ice cream, made from diary, but they're different in their expression of those ideas. I like bacon.

@efb @wvento I only posted this comment b/c of what Mike mentioned about Young "not being the guy to talk sense into Puig". I just wonder who the "leader" is on this team. It was Matt Kemp, but with him off the field with injury, is it A-Gon? I can only assume that he is working on his game and will continue to improve with time and good coaching.

@HiiiiEVERYBODY (HiiiiEVERYBODY) @wvento Yeah, maybe. I always associate Hanely with his own "limited" maturity, especially in his last season and a half with the Marlins. He's definitely a positive part of the clubhouse right now, mostly I think because he's playing well. I'd imagine that Hanely is less of a fun-time guy when he's in the middle of a slump. But what the hell do I know?

Is there someone that can talk some sense into Puig? I'd think that A-Gon or Uribe would be the ones to give him some help. That hasn't happened yet, as Puig seemingly hasn't slowed down or stopped Puiging. I walk this fine line between wanting Puig to just go and go, and wanting him to reign it in to the point where he can focus on refining his plate approach, learning the subtleties of hitting and becoming a professional and not just a bag of amazing tools. He's only 22 (hopefully), and has a long time to figure things out. This year, I just don't want him to hurt himself while playing at 100 mph. He certainly is interesting.

@deblue I understand this if you are young, like under 20. If not, I'm gonna call fair weather and say that Luis Gonzalez, who played one season for the Dodgers in 2007, is a 19 year veteran, 5 time All Star, World Series hero and someone who you should ABSOLUTELY know who the hell he is.

I absolutely want to see Grienke at the top of the rotation with Kershaw. I'd also see about picking up Scott Baker on the cheap. Coming off injury, yes, but prior to that he was one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball. I love his skills.

@Gilbert_Vengeance  @SCruzOptimusDamus I can see why the fans, reacting to the most recent run by Scutaro's 37 year old self would think that too, but Kelly Johnson is 31, and probably just as capable a ball player for the vagiants to go after. Leaving us with a reunited Oakland MI that stunk for oh so many seasons.

Hypotheticals aside, ask yourself which is more likely to happen: Ned signing Scutaro to a deal that makes us forget Juan Uribe or Ned getting the better of AA in Toronto? I'm going to go back to pretending baseball isn't a sport.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals to win the longest post-season game of attrition in recorded baseball history. Every pitcher on the bench for both teams is used in this game. It's going to last 17 innings and the game will end in the most improbably way: Marco Scutaro striking out swinging.

If Uribe is DFA'd and he gets picked up by the giants, for example, wouldn't the Dodgers be paying him to play for another team? Stupid contract, but I don't want there to be any reason why the Dodgers would be doing the giants a "solid", even for how crappy Uribe has been, lets not go out and give the division rivals a player that they already like, and that helped them win a World Series.

I don't care, I'll still hate Victorino. He's here for two months and I can live with that. I'm not as concerned about the pitching. It's hard to cry over a lost Eovaldi when Hanley Ramirez and a very capable LOOGY in Choate was the return. The rest of the Dodger pitching just needs to hold up. Rubby De La Rosa should be able to help us down the stretch, and Lilly will be back soon too. I like this team a lot more now than I did three weeks ago.

Kill them with pitching. Go get Francisco Liriano. You probably don't need to move Lee to get him. His performance over his last 6 or 7 starts has been spectacular. Or just give me Edwin Encarnacion.
