Did anyone listen to the latest mlbtraderumors podcast? The agent for Josh Johnson was on talking about early long term contracts like the one Jon Sigelson signed. It's very fast but he says something along the lines of Joc Pederson not being interested in that type of deal. Just thought it was interesting.

I really wouldn't mind Drew on a 1 year deal. Seems like a no brainier if he's willing to sign with us for 1 year.
1 day ago on Who plays shortstop for the Dodgers in 2015?
Do we think the Dodgers bring in Jose Molina, or would he have been a part of this trade? Or do we think, they go for more of an upgrade than Molina.
6 days, 10 hours ago on Dodgers acquire Joel Peralta, Adam Liberatore for Jose Dominguez, Greg Harris
I'd be pretty bummed if we traded Kemp. He'd probably bring back the best return though.
2 weeks, 3 days ago on 2014 Dodgers In Review: 1B Clint Robinson
Los Angeles Dodgers
Yeah, I know, they’re the new Dodgers, so they’re not just going to outspend everyone else. But they’re still the Dodgers, and Andrew Friedman does have some history with James Shields, so I wouldn’t expect them to pass if his market doesn’t evolve. It might not be their original plan, but I think they’ll scoop up Shields once his price falls to 4/$80M. They’ll also re-sign Chad Billingsley (1/$6M) and make a bunch of trades.
2 weeks, 6 days ago on Gabe Kapler reportedly hired as Farm Director, front office shuffle continues
I wonder when they will announce front office hires. Seems like they should have been figured out by now.
3 weeks, 3 days ago on Hanley Ramirez Receives Qualifying Offer, Obviously
It actually makes perfect sense. Puig is somewhat inexpensive and controled for 5 more seasons. Plus playing in Miami would have huge marketability. Stanton would most likely sign an extension in LA being a local guy anyways. Win win in my opinion.
1 month, 1 week ago on Plenty of Dodgers’ prospects on BA’s postseason Top 20 lists
Hopefully he sells high on Dee if he thinks Guerrero can take over at second. Not a good sign though however that he didn't get any starts there in September.
1 month, 1 week ago on Andrew Friedman Is Going To Do Something That Infuriates You
Sorry if this has already been posted. Interesting read from the Tampa beat writer.
1 month, 2 weeks ago on Are The Dodgers Really Going To Dump Payroll?
So last night it was reported that Andrew Friedman was their number one target. Is this even really possible? I mean not only is he under contract with Tampa, he reportedly also turned down the Angles job. I think this would be a dream hire for most Dodgers fans, just kind of weird to hear him rumored like this when Ned is still in charge. Is it possible that they would be trying to negotiate with candidates while also still meeting with Ned?

I wouldn't mind it if the Dodgers took a run at Keppinger now that the White Sox have requested release waivers on him. At least for the 2 weeks if Uribe goes on the DL.

11 months, 3 weeks ago on Hanley Ramirez Extension Could Happen Soon
Do players take physicals on the weekend, or do they wait till Monday? That would make sense for flying to LA right?
I think they definitely need to extend him. He would get a monster free agent deal.
12 months ago on Drew Butera & Scott Elbert: Tendered
In a perfect world definitely. I just don't think he would take only 3 years.
What do you think a Ramirez extension looks like? 5/120?
That's not how it is counted against the luxury tax though. Doesn't give breaks for bonuses.
1 year ago on 2013 Dodgers in Review #25: SP Matt Magill
Yes but that's not true salary. That's not the way it is calculated against the luxury tax.
He's definitely not signed for 3 mill a year.
@InsideThePark (empty stadium) I see it now, sorry do duplicate it.
1 year ago on 2013 Dodgers in Review #19: CF Andre Ethier
I didn't see this discussed yet, Bowden new today. One deal for every NL team.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The move: Trade outfielder Andre Ethier,
Ross Stripling, Matt McGill and cash (approximately $9 million over
four years to bring the average annual value of Ethier's contract down
to $15M per season) to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma.
Why: The Mariners are in desperate need of offense,
and Ethier, 31, brings a consistent .360 on-base percentage with an
average of 20 home runs per season. Stripling should develop into a
solid No. 3 starter who should be ready by the All-Star break. In
return, the Dodgers would get another top-of-the-rotation starter to go
with Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu without having to unload top prospects like Joc Pederson, Zach Lee or Corey Seager.
This deal would leave the Dodgers with an outfield of Yasiel Puig in
right, Matt Kemp in center, Carl Crawford in left and top prospect
Pederson ready in Triple-A when there is an injury. Iwakuma, 32, is
signed for $6.5 million in 2014, with a team option of $7 million in
2-5 with a skunk was last night.

What about someone like Manny Acta as a bench coach for Mattingly. If he misses out on the other openings out there.
1 year, 1 month ago on The Circus Continues: So Long, Trey Hillman
Has this already been discussed?
One assistant GM proposes that the Rays could trade David Price to the Dodgers for Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Julio Urias and Chris Withrow, Peter Gammons writes. That would give the Rays two very good hitting prospects in Seager and Pederson, a very young arm in Urias, and a big-league reliever in Withrow. MLB.com ranks Pederson and Seager the top two prospects in the Dodgers system, with Urias at No. 4.

Sorry if this was talked about last night. Chase Headley was put on waivers yesterday. I know there is slim to no chance that no one else in the National League claims him, but would be pretty awesome if he fell to us and we were able to work out a deal. Uribe has been good so far this year, but adding Chase to the lineup every night would be pretty incredible. He's having a down year, but it could be a huge spark for both him and the Dodgers. I know it's pretty far fetched but exciting to dream about.
1 year, 3 months ago on Dodgers @ Marlins August 20, 2013: No Puig, Everyone Panic
@PagansOedipalComplex @Mike Petriello @TaylorAllender Yeah that was my thought as well. Although I didn't realize he had been so terrible. I think we need some power coming off the bench, but we will have that in September with Van Slyke coming back and Ethier coming off the bench when Kemp comes back.
1 year, 3 months ago on Anatomy of an Unbelievable Run
@Mike Petriello @TaylorAllender True, but wouldn't he be an upgrade coming off the bench over Dee?
What do you guys think about picking up Mark Reynolds? I think he'd be a pretty nice bench bat for the stretch run.
So @Mike Petriello who do you think is playing second base on opening day next year?
1 year, 3 months ago on Poll: Who Will Be the Dodger Second Baseman In 2014?
I think it would be smart if we are able to sign Alexander Guerrero to also pick up Ellis's option. We have no idea if Guerrero would be able to step right into the 2nd base job. Would make for could competition, plus a safety net if one or both get injured throughout the season.
Agree with Harold Reynolds @MLBNetwork that #Rangers manager Ron Washington deserves strong AL manager of year consideration for their year.
