Have we heard anything about the Dodgers being at the showcase for Rusney Castillo tomorrow?
4 days, 9 hours ago on The Dodgers And Giants, Together At Last
So do we really think we will have Joc in our lineup on Friday night? If so, obviously we will make a trade before then. At least that will make the off day more exciting.

@Dustin Nosler Yeah I'm not a fan of it either.

Anyone read Bowden's latest trade colum?
Phillies receive: CF Joc Pederson, LHP Julio Urias and INF Alex Guerrero Dodgers receive: LHP Cole Hamels
I wouldn't mind it if the Dodgers took a run at Keppinger now that the White Sox have requested release waivers on him. At least for the 2 weeks if Uribe goes on the DL.

7 months, 3 weeks ago on Breaking: We Have Clues To Where Matt Kemp Is Going
Has there been any new news on a Kershaw extension? It will be awesome if they announced both at the same press conference.
7 months, 3 weeks ago on Hanley Ramirez Extension Could Happen Soon
Do players take physicals on the weekend, or do they wait till Monday? That would make sense for flying to LA right?
I think they definitely need to extend him. He would get a monster free agent deal.
8 months ago on Drew Butera & Scott Elbert: Tendered
In a perfect world definitely. I just don't think he would take only 3 years.
What do you think a Ramirez extension looks like? 5/120?
That's not how it is counted against the luxury tax though. Doesn't give breaks for bonuses.
8 months ago on 2013 Dodgers in Review #25: SP Matt Magill
Yes but that's not true salary. That's not the way it is calculated against the luxury tax.
He's definitely not signed for 3 mill a year.
@InsideThePark (empty stadium) I see it now, sorry do duplicate it.
8 months, 1 week ago on 2013 Dodgers in Review #19: CF Andre Ethier
I didn't see this discussed yet, Bowden new today. One deal for every NL team.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The move: Trade outfielder Andre Ethier,
Ross Stripling, Matt McGill and cash (approximately $9 million over
four years to bring the average annual value of Ethier's contract down
to $15M per season) to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma.
Why: The Mariners are in desperate need of offense,
and Ethier, 31, brings a consistent .360 on-base percentage with an
average of 20 home runs per season. Stripling should develop into a
solid No. 3 starter who should be ready by the All-Star break. In
return, the Dodgers would get another top-of-the-rotation starter to go
with Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu without having to unload top prospects like Joc Pederson, Zach Lee or Corey Seager.
This deal would leave the Dodgers with an outfield of Yasiel Puig in
right, Matt Kemp in center, Carl Crawford in left and top prospect
Pederson ready in Triple-A when there is an injury. Iwakuma, 32, is
signed for $6.5 million in 2014, with a team option of $7 million in
2-5 with a skunk was last night.

Found it. Looks like he went 1-5 with a single
And 2 strikeouts.
Can't get the site to load. Anyone know how Guerrero is doing tonight?
What about someone like Manny Acta as a bench coach for Mattingly. If he misses out on the other openings out there.
9 months, 1 week ago on The Circus Continues: So Long, Trey Hillman
Has this already been discussed?
One assistant GM proposes that the Rays could trade David Price to the Dodgers for Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Julio Urias and Chris Withrow, Peter Gammons writes. That would give the Rays two very good hitting prospects in Seager and Pederson, a very young arm in Urias, and a big-league reliever in Withrow. MLB.com ranks Pederson and Seager the top two prospects in the Dodgers system, with Urias at No. 4.

10 months, 2 weeks ago on The Return of Matt Kemp?
True, but what I was saying was what if we could get
Him at 3/50. No matter if its possible or not.
It was just a thought. I'd be very interested at that
Price. Not saying there's a chance. Just

Way off topic, but does anyone know when Sons of Anarchy season 5 will go live on Netflix? The new season starts tomorrow and I'm an entire season down.

Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero has been cleared to
sign with Major League Teams by the United States Office of Foreign

Sorry if this was talked about last night. Chase Headley was put on waivers yesterday. I know there is slim to no chance that no one else in the National League claims him, but would be pretty awesome if he fell to us and we were able to work out a deal. Uribe has been good so far this year, but adding Chase to the lineup every night would be pretty incredible. He's having a down year, but it could be a huge spark for both him and the Dodgers. I know it's pretty far fetched but exciting to dream about.
11 months, 1 week ago on Dodgers @ Marlins August 20, 2013: No Puig, Everyone Panic
@PagansOedipalComplex @Mike Petriello @TaylorAllender Yeah that was my thought as well. Although I didn't realize he had been so terrible. I think we need some power coming off the bench, but we will have that in September with Van Slyke coming back and Ethier coming off the bench when Kemp comes back.
11 months, 2 weeks ago on Anatomy of an Unbelievable Run
@Mike Petriello @TaylorAllender True, but wouldn't he be an upgrade coming off the bench over Dee?
What do you guys think about picking up Mark Reynolds? I think he'd be a pretty nice bench bat for the stretch run.
So @Mike Petriello who do you think is playing second base on opening day next year?
11 months, 3 weeks ago on Poll: Who Will Be the Dodger Second Baseman In 2014?
I think it would be smart if we are able to sign Alexander Guerrero to also pick up Ellis's option. We have no idea if Guerrero would be able to step right into the 2nd base job. Would make for could competition, plus a safety net if one or both get injured throughout the season.
Agree with Harold Reynolds @MLBNetwork that #Rangers manager Ron Washington deserves strong AL manager of year consideration for their year.

Dodgers down to the deadline
As it turns out, the Dodgers went right down to the trading deadline
trying to add parts for a world series run. L.A. sources say they were
working on deals with the Angels and Royals for Hochevar and Howie
Kendrick and were willing to trade pitchers Zach Lee, Reed and Chris
Withrow. It unraveled minutes from the deadline.
@Mike Petriello are you still hearing that we are in on Lee? I know reports yesterday show we have not had talks recently. Would getting Lee be worth it if we had to take on Paplebon's contract?
12 months ago on Your Worst Nightmare: Brian Wilson, Dodger?
We have no idea what he is. That's my point. You can't say he's shaky throwing strikes because we have no idea coming off tommy John. Low risk. To say otherwise is ridiculous.
1 year ago on Your Worst Nightmare: Brian Wilson, Dodger?
He's nothing like Marmol. I'm not saying he's good, but he's certainly not wild.
How could he justify more money. Seems like he wants to play here. Plus he's coming off injury.
I hate to admit it, but I'd much rather sign Wilson for 500K than trade prospects for someone that will probably be equal to him in the long run.
Chris Reed and Ethier for Nathan and Kinzler. Texas moves Profar to second. No money exchange. Ethier and Kinzler have roughly the same contract.

Jim Bowden is such an idiot. From today's article.
Once Braun has started to build up a little bit of goodwill, I wouldn't
be surprised if Melvin starts to shop him around a little bit over the
winter. I'm not sure if anyone would bite, but it would be worth
exploring the market that might be out there for him. For example, maybe
the Dodgers would consider swapping him for Matt Kemp,
another highly-paid star who has some issues of his own -- he can't
seem to stay on the field. Again, I wouldn't expect to be able to trade
Braun this offseason, but that's when you can start to think about
