Did anyone listen to the latest mlbtraderumors podcast? The agent for Josh Johnson was on talking about early long term contracts like the one Jon Sigelson signed. It's very fast but he says something along the lines of Joc Pederson not being interested in that type of deal. Just thought it was interesting.

Do we think the Dodgers bring in Jose Molina, or would he have been a part of this trade? Or do we think, they go for more of an upgrade than Molina.

Fangraphs predictions....

Los Angeles Dodgers

Yeah, I know, they’re the new Dodgers, so they’re not just going to outspend everyone else. But they’re still the Dodgers, and Andrew Friedman does have some history with James Shields, so I wouldn’t expect them to pass if his market doesn’t evolve. It might not be their original plan, but I think they’ll scoop up Shields once his price falls to 4/$80M. They’ll also re-sign Chad Billingsley (1/$6M) and make a bunch of trades.

It actually makes perfect sense. Puig is somewhat inexpensive and controled for 5 more seasons. Plus playing in Miami would have huge marketability. Stanton would most likely sign an extension in LA being a local guy anyways. Win win in my opinion.

Hopefully he sells high on Dee if he thinks Guerrero can take over at second. Not a good sign though however that he didn't get any starts there in September.

So last night it was reported that Andrew Friedman was their number one target. Is this even really possible? I mean not only is he under contract with Tampa, he reportedly also turned down the Angles job. I think this would be a dream hire for most Dodgers fans, just kind of weird to hear him rumored like this when Ned is still in charge. Is it possible that they would be trying to negotiate with candidates while also still meeting with Ned?

I didn't see this discussed yet, Bowden new today. One deal for every NL team.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The move: Trade outfielder Andre Ethier, Ross Stripling, Matt McGill and cash (approximately $9 million over four years to bring the average annual value of Ethier's contract down to $15M per season) to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma.

Why: The Mariners are in desperate need of offense, and Ethier, 31, brings a consistent .360 on-base percentage with an average of 20 home runs per season. Stripling should develop into a solid No. 3 starter who should be ready by the All-Star break. In return, the Dodgers would get another top-of-the-rotation starter to go with Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu without having to unload top prospects like Joc Pederson, Zach Lee or Corey Seager.

This deal would leave the Dodgers with an outfield of Yasiel Puig in right, Matt Kemp in center, Carl Crawford in left and top prospect Pederson ready in Triple-A when there is an injury. Iwakuma, 32, is signed for $6.5 million in 2014, with a team option of $7 million in 2015.

Has this already been discussed?

One assistant GM proposes that the Rays could trade David Price to the Dodgers for Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Julio Urias and Chris Withrow, Peter Gammons writes. That would give the Rays two very good hitting prospects in Seager and Pederson, a very young arm in Urias, and a big-league reliever in Withrow. MLB.com ranks Pederson and Seager the top two prospects in the Dodgers system, with Urias at No. 4.

Sorry if this was talked about last night. Chase Headley was put on waivers yesterday. I know there is slim to no chance that no one else in the National League claims him, but would be pretty awesome if he fell to us and we were able to work out a deal. Uribe has been good so far this year, but adding Chase to the lineup every night would be pretty incredible. He's having a down year, but it could be a huge spark for both him and the Dodgers. I know it's pretty far fetched but exciting to dream about.

@PagansOedipalComplex @Mike Petriello @TaylorAllender Yeah that was my thought as well. Although I didn't realize he had been so terrible.
