@Beany Toe is a bigger wear-and-tear menace than camber. With lots of toe, your tires are being laterally loaded at all times. With lots of camber, you're just focusing wear over a smaller patch, without the lateral loads associated with toe.

@yotafan @SeanStott @greenroadster Sounds an awful lot to me like hand waving and sour grapes.
A 90s Civic has a better front suspension than a 911.
There's nothing controversial about that statement.
1 month, 1 week ago on Porsche Board Member Wolfgang Hatz Answers Your Questions
@greenroadster @SeanStott That doesn't change the fact that you can get a double wishbone setup on a Toyota Tacoma, Ford Crown Victoria, Honda Accord.... yet you get a Macpherson Strut on a 911 that is the same idea as a Ford Focus, a Chevy Malibu, et al.
Sure, maybe it has a more advanced adjustable setup. Doesn't change the fact that on a track it will have a poorer-performing camber curve than a Toyota Tacoma.
1 month, 2 weeks ago on Porsche Board Member Wolfgang Hatz Answers Your Questions
lol he totally dodged the wishbone question. It's crazy that a production 911 that costs over $150,000 has a less advanced front suspension than a Ford Crown Victoria.
Never forget, Hennessey has ripped off countless people over the years. Scummy business with a scummy owner.

Wow, where to begin. That duck tail spoiler is 909 enough, but the cheesy aftermarket wing? Eesh. I hate to use this word, but the whole car just screams CORNY

@speedhunters_dino @SeanStott You got to see it first hand, so I believe my impression could be wrong. I've been swayed before by how pictures look vs. reality ('14 Corvette comes to mind).

Never realized how lame TE37s look on a 911.
That 458 is awesome.
How does widening the rear to such an extent affect handling? There's got to be a ton of compromises. ?

@mbretschneider good read on the matter: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?277255-Radiator-frontal-area-chart
3 months, 4 weeks ago on Keeping Cool: CSF Takes Your Questions
@mbretschneider @SeanStott I feel like factory cores are usually thinner.
I'm in the same boat as you though. I have a front mount intercooler, and the inlet/outlet exit in the front of it. This means I have to fit a radiator between the inlet/outlet, and severely narrowed my options. I had to go with something around 18" square, but it's a double row aluminum unit. Should be adequate for how I use my car.
The first thing you want to optimize is core and tube/fin design, which usually means choosing aluminum over copper (even though copper is better heat conductor). From there, you want to get as big of a surface area as possible for maximum efficiency. Then, go thicker as needed. The problem with going too thick is that you start to have too much thickness for higher speed ram-air cooling. Figure you might have as much as an air-to-air intercooler, A/C condenser, oil cooler, and radiator all in a row.
@mbretschneider Surface area always beats thickness.
god that interior is awful.

is a SLA setup completely superior to macpherson? how do Porsche and the FR-S get by with it, while cars like the Dodge Charger that have a true SLA setup aren't touted as excellent-handling cars?
1 year ago on Superpro Takes Your Suspension Questions
@RBO please, get over it.
you can get a full set of rota grids for less than the price of 1 volk wheel. the quality is comparable in 99% of situations. there are tons of instances of bent volks, it's not like they are indestructible compared to the knockoffs.
many people aren't in a position to drop $3500 for wheels when a near identical product can be had for something like $600.

the "Long Beach" in arial font made me cringe.
the 4 point harness without a full cage is just silly, dangerous, and boy racer. if a car flips and the roof caves in, congrats your neck now has nowhere to go but inside your chest.
honestly TE37s have jumped the shark.
the embossing between each spoke on the lip is way overkill, and so is the engraved logo on the spokes. i always kind of laughed at people who kept the decals on the spokes, it's mad corny, but now they have no choice!

i like mixing styles. i have an 84 mustang svo, with some jdm touches and products. there are unique pros to each scene, and the best part is taking your own unique interpretation and melding them together.

@ric_tuning69 If they aren't selling any then they'll lower the price. But I'll bet that these all sell out.
$35 is fine, these are gonna sell out incredibly fast.
i wouldn't sleep on this or you're gonna be scavenging ebay and paying $70 +
i don't have a problem with them simply buying the car, or questioned whether or not they're an enthusiast (if you can't wrench on your own car, you're not an enthusiast by the way)
the issue is that these brand new cars crowd all the car shows. that's my gripe - i go to ford shows and see hundreds of 2005+ mustangs. or nissan/datsun shows and there are nothing but new GT-Rs. i see three on the way to work everyday. i know it's a cool car, but what's the difference between that and a new Altima? i'd rather see customized 90s Altimas than a brand new GT-R. at Cars&Coffee in irvine, it's nothing but new 911s, new lamborghinis, and new GT-Rs.
maybe it's becuse i work for an automotive related firm and get to drive many of those cars, but they bore me to death compared to other stuff that's out there.
2 years ago on GT-R Heaven: R’s Meeting 2012
anyone else simply not care at all about the r35s? why do so many of them always show up?
it's like when you go to a ford or mustang show and all you see is rows upon rows of 2005+ new mustangs. cool story bro, you opened your checkbook and bought a car. not really interesting when i can go see your car at any nissan dealer.
you're jumping that car wrong.
