I made this and mine looked about like yours. I wasn't a big fan. Do you stir it at all during the 8 or so hours it cooks? Most of the recipes say don't stir, but if you don't do it every 2 1/2 hours or so (no more than 3) then the crap will burn to the side of the crockpot and make the whole dish takes like burned crap. That said, the other Crockpot Italian Chicken that has only like 4 or 5 ingredients is AWESOME!!

Maybe adding an egg to the milk/bread crumbs mix would make it stick better? I don't know. Just a guess :)

I did it on the stove (thankfully mine didn't explode) but they didn't ever tell you that you need to keep adding water as the water boils out. After about an hour and a half I added more water, then more again an hour boiled for a total of 3 1/2 hours. It looked like caramel when I opened it and it tasted like...burnt sweetened condensed milk. Ick!
