I have found myself watching fewer and fewer races for a few reasons. There seems to be only a few super competitive drivers each week, Johnson, Kyle Busch and makes for very boring racing when only 4,5 guys have a legitimate chance to win.

Plus throw in the fact that you never know when the darn race will begin and it gets frustrating. The NFL for example when it says 1pm for a kickoff and they mean it. NASCAR you just don't know when the green flag will drop. Until they can balance out the racing and get more drivers a chance to win viewership will continue to go down.

Plus you could say they need more personality, Johnson is vanilla, so is Kenseth. At least Kyle Busch and Brad Keslowski and Tony Stewart have some personality.

I would say that two that were left off that deserved to be on are Rebecca Lowe and Arlo White of NBC's soccer coverage. They are well prepared and very professional. I enjoy and learn something from them every time I watch them.

On the flex scheduling angle, CBS wasn't going to give up Chiefs-Broncos and outside of that there just weren't many compelling matchups for SNF. One could say Philly-Arizona and I would watch that but I bed Giants-Redskins would have done better ratings because of the large markets and NFC East angle. NBC was in a tough spot with the slate of games available to them.

That Berman video is priceless. It's amazing how he stops, then waits and then goes back at it.

That Olberman segment is Keith at his best, he can be a handful but when he is in the zone he is as good as it gets.

I agree with Matt here. Golic is such a meathead and he thinks its so easy to just resort to violence. It's more manly to walk away and handle like an adult, then to just give into anger and violence. Anyone who blames Martin is missing the point that, this is not Martin's fault this is on Ingognito and his actions. That is where the attention needs to be focused.

+1000 I like the sabermetric tools as well, but Kenny comes off as a bully. He's smart and we get what he is trying to do, but tone it down. He even complained about a no hitter because it wasn't a perfect game. Enjoy the game, share your knowledge and people will be curious. He is hurting more than helping at this point.

It's encouraging for the league. NBCSN does a nice job producing the games and you can tell they value the property unlike ESPN. NBC has found a couple of sports the NHL and the EPL with a die hard fan base and are authentic when showing the games. It gives hope that there will be competition for ESPN yet.

TNT didn't do a good enough job explaining that to the viewer, so I would have reacted differently knowing that ahead of time and there were fewer cautions at the start of the race. I am sure these are the times TNT hoped to get the commercials, instead they had to cut away from live racing. Just do a better job of reminding the viewer and the situation will be better next time.

I just want balance and fairness. I don't need 30 minutes of LeBron when there were 15 baseball games last night. SportsCenter is failing because its insincere to the viewer. I liked the lights but I don't often watch TV before work, but it was the right idea. Maybe Fox Sports 1 can find that balance. I think people would flock to it if they do and then maybe Sports Center would have some honesty about how bad its become.

NFLN should go with Eisen, Mayock, and Billick for day one that would be ideal.

And until Berman is no longer doing ESPN day 1 I won't be watching ESPN plain and simple. He is all about himself and its so old and tired at this point.

Honestly I doubt this changes anything. They pass Simmons opinion off as one opinion and not that of the larger audience. Lets face the suits at ESPN have their heads buried in the sand far enough they are not going to hear anything. It's a shame too because this would be the wakeup call. Whats even more a shame is that NBCSN and CBS network aren't yet strong enough to take advantage of this and that Fox Sports 1 isn't launching until August which seems like light years away. The only way ESPN listens is when there is real competition at their door step.

@modsuperstar I slightly disagree with your point, but understand where you are coming from. From that perspective that says more about ESPN's lack of foresight or understanding the fundamental differences between NHL vs. NBA and either way this reflects poorly on ESPN. They are just forcing anything into a box to create debate, its a shame since there are so many organic topics to have legitimate debate about but ESPN keeps lowering the bar. At the very least there is some real competition for ESPN which hasn't had much in the past. What is surprising is that with this competition or soon to be ESPN's bad stuff (First Take) is so bad it outweighs their good stuff (30 for 30 etc), I feel they take viewers for granted but they will be hurt by these other offerings and viewers having more choices is never a bad thing.
