At this point if your OS isn't established like IOS and Android your in real trouble. The major apps are on these 2 platforms and to get these top companies to make an app for any other phone OS is going to require that company to really love something about that new phone OS. Maybe Win Phone 8 will slowly build up apps but hard to believe any of these other phone OS's will get any support. We are well past the point of no return with Apps. I would bet that the top apps on IOS will focus on improving their app for Android so it's as good as the one on IOS. They will focus on making their apps for the 7 and 10 inch Android tablets thanks to the success of the nexus tablets. Looking at the numbers it would be foolish not to improve the quality of the Android apps to be equal to IOS on both phone and Tablet. Android will really pick up market share this year on the tablet front. It doesn't make sense to put their resources into making phone apps for new phone OS's. My 2 cents

@KyleFrost Take anything outside of cell phones and tablets since they are new. No other place has been the shape of something patent able. Samsung makes just about everything like refrigerators. Whey they go to make their product where do they start? They start by looking at the most successful products because people are buying it and then they add their touches to it. They have done this for everything they make. You name it they have looked at the best in a category and start off with that product as a starting point. Why has it been ok to do this except for phones and tablets. All refrigerators are the same shape and look how identical they are. Should the person who made the 1st one that looks like the current units be able to stop any other companies from making the same shape unit? The same goes with just about everything. TV's, DVD Players, door knobs, watches, automobiles, and so on and so forth. My point always was that just because this type of product is new doesn't mean any company should be able to patent the general shape of the product. That company who gets their 1st makes a lot of money for getting it right. What keeps them making lots of money is that they keep making a product someone wants over the competition. Eventually every product for a specific task ends up being similar in some ways because that is the best shape for what is needed to do that task the best;. If you say that Apple got to that shape first and it seems to be the best then I agree and they got the fruits of their labor. No pun intended by selling so many. What I don't agree on is that the shape of an item should be patent-able because then you stop other companies from taking a product and making it better. Apple has taken many products and made them better but again many products that already existed. The patent system is broken and yes Apple is abusing the system because they can and it's expected but this is expected because they started this practice and now it's common place. You also asked why I come here. I come here because I like to see all sides of technology from the fanboys for Apple, Google, and MS so I can decide what I think. I can't see how people who only read one side can really think they are making decisions based on all the info.

I like how the pictures on here show before the ipad and after. Thats like saying the 1st watches ever made looked like this and then SEIKO came out with a round watch and boom. Everyone has a round watch. Notice anything? Yah. Eveyone has a round watch. So what. You shouldn't be able to patent a shape. If we had this crazy patent system that will give anyone a patent we would have only a few watch makers since one company would have a round watch and another a square and then an oval and thats it. Come on people. Get real.
This is like the CEO of Coke drinking Pepsi but your not going to know what your company is missing unless your using the competitions products.

That Jelly Bean demo sure looked way more impressive that Siri. And the voice in some spots sounded more human. What do you think?
