Really??? Why again a PG? What will happen to DeColo, CuJo, Marcus Denmon, already at backup PG. Why do we have to draft a guy at 6'3" at pick 28 when he is expected to go mid second round. Our pick 58 will be garbage as we all know.

 @Spursfan66  @CraigThomas Jax is over this season. Don't know how mush is he focused  this season as he is out to promote his rap album. I hope he is traded for a decent big. Spurs could also had a look at D J White, someone who fills our need. I still do not understand why was DeColo signed even for cheap. He doesn't justifies his BB IQ at 25, must have been signed to please Tony Parker. How are they planning to give Duncan some night offs? What will be the lineup (in case of injury to TD or TS)? Anyways none of these signings are going to get TD his 5th ring.

By the way Darko Milicic is headed to Boston. So that is good management as they addressed a need.

I like this signing too. But if he is signed for the next season then spurs need to send Jackson or Blair and get a big. We cannot have all PFs 6'8". If he is better at PF then Blair must be released since it is right now impossible to trade him and if he plays SF better then Jackson must be traded. A player should be given a contract if he fills a need and not to fill in a roster spot. He is neither a very good rebounder nor a blocker. So not too happy. And what happened to Kyrylo Fesenko?

 @CraigThomas  We are only contenders and no more winners. In the first place PATFO just wasted their $$ on DeColo who was not required this year. It was very clear from the beginning (last two years now) that spurs need a big but still wasted their money on DeColo who is not ready yet and we do not need him. I hope we have a trade coming or else we won't make WCF this year with 82 games. If duncan gets hurt, then GAME OVER as we don't have any backup.

Just read on hoopsworld that Mcgrady worked out for the spurs. Another F-G. We should sign this guy and DARKO and will be good to go.

I guess Darko is still available and is better than Mr Fesenko. We should trade Mr Blair for a pick and get hold of these two guys. I wouldn't mind Malcolm Thomas either.

If this news is true then there is something majorly wrong with PATFO. They are too much after 6'8" guys and guards. They should go after a backup big and I can see a trade happening (hopeful)

 @spurs123  @rtesoro440  @JohnAbney Which planet do you come from brother? I did mention KL is better than MWP. But Manu better than Kobe????TP better than Nash???? Just compare their stats. Nash makes everybody around him better. He has been assist leader for so many years now, his FG%, FT%, and 3FG% and turn over rate are all better than Parker's. And talking about the bench they have Jamison, Jordan Hill, Blake, Jodie Meeks, Devin Ebanks. Howard, kobe, Gasol can play nearly 40 mpg. And what about Spurs bench Neal, S-Jax (overrated), Splitter, Bonner.

 @rtesoro440  @JohnAbney well said "sour grapes". The truth is PATFO doesn't have the money to build a competitive team. And spurs fans cannot digest the fact that LAL actually got better. We talk about bench depth and forget that how our bench disappeared in WCF. We talk about our young role players getting matured but forget that other teams have younger players with higher potential who are also maturing. We talk about other teams getting older and overlook the fact that TD, Manu, and Tony are not getting younger. We talk about other teams being injury plagued and forget what happened to Manu last year and Tony in the off season. Imagine what will happen if TD gets hurt, we don't have a backup for him who can guard the rim for us. As of today

Howard > Tim

Gasol > (Splitter + Diaw + Blair + Bonner)

MWP <= Kawhi

Kobe > Manu

Nash >= Parker

So where do we stand a chance against LAL in a 7 game series

Apart from Manu, none of the spurs players have been impressive. Tony has been average. Diaw, Splitter, De Colo are not good enough. I do not know what will spurs do next season as we depend a lot on Diaw and Splitter.

 @Spurs 4 life Then let us be practical that TD will retire with 4 rings and Manu with 4. TD, Manu will be older by one year and OKC will be more matured. Remember we have one star in making in KL and they have three Durant, WB,  and JH. Right now Ibaka is as good as KL. These guys can play for the whole 48 minutes bcoz they are young and more athletic than the spurs. They improved by adding Perry Jones. Last year we had all the players healthy and still we could not find an answer. How do you think we will be able to beat them this year?

 @Spurs 4 life Then what is the game plan? Having penetrators and shooters? But someone needs to defend the rim. This technique has failed for three consecutive years. Why not try something different? And, then why did we sign De Colo? This move does not make any sense at all.

I guess this year we are going to play the smallest ball with De Colo at Center.

I guess the spurs want to have shortest person at every position. They seem to have flavored off seasons. One year they go after undersized Big men and this year they are after guards. Why the hell we need a guard? We should go after Larry Sanders. He has great potential.

Malcolm Thomas is averaging 10.7 points and a Summer League-leading 14.0 rebounds in 3 games. Spurs should give him another look.

It is going to be a 82 game season and pop will be forced to rest TD and MG on few (or probably lot) of nights. Then what?? And, What if, TD goes down with an injury the who is going to rebound and block shots??? We have 3 out of 5 undersized bigs and Pop won't just give Splitter enough minutes. How are we going to tackle such scenario?? We cannot play small ball every game.

With this team I see them making the playoffs but not winning the championship. Let us be practical. And, remember if we are getting a full training period, so are others. If our young players are maturing, so are others. We are still not good enough to beat OKC. And, last time we had a matching nightmare in T'wolves. This year they are better. So predictions for this year, making the playoffs but not as no 1 seed and exiting in 2nd round playoffs. Still GSG.

I don't now how much physical he is? He just got 0.4 blocks and 6.4 rebounds in 30 mins. The fact is Spurs did not have enough money to offer to Lorbek. And, he has already got an offer from mavs according to rotoworld.

Good that Spurs FO knew that he was not the missing piece. But who is ??? Where are the upgrades? Fans who believe that Spurs are good enough to win a championship with last year's roster (+ decolo) are driven by their heart (emotionally) rather than brain (logically). All the best to Mr Lorbek..

2 years, 1 month ago on Lorbek chooses Regal Barcelona over Spurs | July

So Lorbek has decided to re-sign with Regal Barcelona. So which Center is spurs pursuing? Camby might sign with the Knicks and Kaman will definitely find better suitors. So, are we actually trying to improve our frontcourt? I see them signing Boris and maintain the same frontcourt like the last season. Nothing is going to change much.

2 years, 1 month ago on Repot: Lorbek re-signing with Regal Barcelona | July

Spurs should just amnesty Bonner (if cannot find a trade partner) and sign Lorbek. He is more skilled, younger and might cost us the same or less than Bonner. He is an instant upgrade over Bonner. And, then we should pursue another center.

The Eighth wonder of the world is the spurs fans. We are always over excited, speculating big spurs moves in the free agency knowing nothing of that sort has ever happened in the past.

If Boris Diaw comes back then No Thank you. We don't want two undersized PFs. Now that Michael Beasley will be signing with the suns and OKC will sign Mr Thabeet, spurs FO should try for Anthony Randolph.

 @Tjaramil Then why are we trying to get back Mills and not focusing on getting an athletic Big which is a more pressing need? And if Mills is our third pg, then why did we draft CJ and now MD? Last year when Grizz outplayed us in the first round, Pop said they will be try to bolster the front court but there has been no change.

If de colo and Lorbek are coming over and supposedly we are bringing back Green, Mills, and Diaw, then who would be going out to create roster space. One would be JA, who is the other? And then where will we fit in our FA if any? The sad part is our super roles players (Neal, Bonner, and DB) cannot fetch us any trade partners. I am not in favor of trading Splitter and KL.

I do not understand how does he improves the spurs? How are we getting better than last year. Spurs FO is just picking up cap friendly players and not difference makers. Why are we so excited about him coming over?

Why are we so much obsessed with Howard and that too at the cost of Green? Howard could not play the entire 66 games season, leave alone the 82 games. He has not played the entire season for quite some time now. On the other hand, Green has shown improvement each year without going down with injury. Though those are good enough reasons to resign Green but at a reasonable cost. Otherwise, Spurs can also pursue the other Green (Gerard).
