@Rickey @TylerDSEdwards Grad school is eating my soul haha
Great recap Joe!
@tonyt_78 Yeah those are all repurposed scenes from earlier this season. Nice, that they are trying to pass them off as something new haha
@XL It actually might be, which would piss me off to no end haha. If the dad is anonymously giving Jenna advice when he knows she is struggling, and also specifically mentioning in her blog about how much she misses/needs him, my anger would know no bounds.
Heavily disagree. You don't have to follow a sport to know the major athletes in it. The fact of the matter is, if i said names like Mia Hamm, Landon Donovan and Abby Wambach a lot of people would know them as US soccer players for their skills on the field. Hope Solo is in that category. Also, even with Solo's past comments taken into consideration, her credibility has never been questioned. She makes comments that are seen as inopportune or inappropriate, but not false. Finally, I think it's more of the tone you wrote this in than anything. No one is saying you have to take Solo's side here or not be critical of her, but doing so in such a combative way really brings down the whole post.
Seriously? Could you take a more condescending attitude? While she has made headlines for her statements off the field, to act as if Solo's enduring fame is not because she is the best goalkeeper the women's game has ever seen is ludicrous. This entire post reads extremely catty.
Thank you!
@Rickey She was just being honest! Of course she would have come back, but that was after some time to relax and regroup. They are pushed to the brink and then basically forced to pour their souls out on the stage in every way imaginable. She was amazing and my absolute favorite of any season from any country ever haha.
I did comment on it in the first Quick Hit! Yeah it was definitely a great scene, and really showed how unhinge Harvey is becoming. He would have never done that in Season 1, but he is feeling a ton more pressure this time around.
@susandee77 Yeah fixed it above. He just reminds of Will from Season 4 too much!
@JackSmythe Sorry about the grammatical errors! I was feeling under the weather and had taken some medicine, which affected my writing. Still, there is no excuse and I went back and fixed them, so thanks for pointing that out.
As for your other comments, I am going to have to disagree with some of them. Yes, Nick is not that strong of partner, and therefore holds some of the blame for the routine not firing on all cylinders , but the choreography let them down in parts as well. If you go look at the video around the 00:45 mark when they all come together, that just looks awkward. Later in the routine, Jason had them split apart a lot to do solo work. Now I know ballroom dancers are not always connected and together throughout a routine, but they were definitely separated here more than normal. In my opinion, Jason had to do this because he could not partner the dancers up as much as he would in a standard doubles routine due to there being three of them. Now, whether he did that because Nick was not strong enough to handle a ton of partnering in this abnormal situation, we will never know. I just think part of the reason is because of the odd number of dancers forced the choreo to go in weird directions. In fact, throughout the show's history, odd number ballroom routines have not been that successful. I'm referring here to both solos and routines with three partners. Really, the only ballroom routine I would say that has been successful with an odd number of dancers was Jeanine's final solo in Season 5. Heck, part of the reason it helped her win was because somebody had finally pulled off a memorable and amazing ballroom solo. Ultimately, I think we just have a difference of opinion on this subject
I totally agree that the lighting was distracting in the ballet number and that Chehon was out of sync in some way, which is what I said in the recap. And you are right about this show being a great platform for choreographers as well as the dancers, as I suspect most people did not know the names of anybody involved in the show before it aired. Luckily, we have had eight seasons of dance on television, and the ninth is looking like it will be fantastic as well.
