Never watch th eintermission show on NBCSB. I heard the Milbury man was saying the Bruins were so much better than the Pens. Saw the postgame show and he looked like he was sick. He really hates the Pens.
So how many strides did JVR take before the hit. I counted at least a 1/2 dozen. If that's not charging, I don't know what is. Taking a guy out like that reminds me of some Ovie would do. But, I guess JVR learned that trait in Philly.
The interference call on Grossman was just as bad. But, the Flyers were given their share of bogus calls too. Just stay out of the box and the Pens can beat this team every game. Everyone knows they will run after the Pens star players (Letang, Malkin, Crosby). Just don't lose your cool.
Depends who the refs are for the game. Have the refs from last night and the Pens would be on the PP all game. The hit by Neal was the worst elbowing call I have ever seen. Don't you actually have to hit a playerwith your elbow and above the players waist to get a elbowing penalty.
Maybe the Bryz was chirping at a bear.
Neal needs to go on meds before the next Flyers game. having him off the ice for three penalties does not help the team. That elbowing call was a joke. I loved how Geno was laughing on the bench when the Flyers were giving him shit. Probably after he took out Talbot behind the bench. If these two teams meet again in the playoffs, it would monumental.
The Flyers did the late rack at the goalies glove all game. It was just that Neal did it soooo late.
Neal lost his mind against the Flyers in last year's playoff. He even earned a one game suspension for it. He must really hate the Flyers and he was never even bitten in the finger by Fartsmell yet.
and Vokouns head looks huge.
Problem with signing Iginla, Calgary still thinks he's a top line star player and would want a Hossa type return (multiple top draft picks and young players in return). Is he really a Hossa type player or more like a Billy Guerin, who we picked up for basically nothing.
Nashville needs scoring. I guess they will try their shot with boychuk. Never really showed much as a Pen. Missed afew open changes that Geno set him up with. Neal burries those chances.
The Pens a lot of cap space money. I guess they figure there's no way they can use it all up, so they are spreading the wealth to WBS.
Geno's goal may even make it to Sports Center, between all the NBA and NCAA Basketball highlights. I'm sure it will get it's 10 seconds of fame.
The Pens have missed their fair share of open nets this year. Geno should have taken it himself though, he needs to pad the goal total before sports writers say he is having another down year, since his goal total is lower this year.
TK needs to sit a game or two. Those were very dumb penalties to take.
Pond hockey is great to watch, but the Pens need to show some defense during this second half of the season. Man, did the goaltending look bad tonight.Bad defense, bad goaltending, means high scoring game. A lot like the Philly game last week.
You must admit, that was the worst effort by the Pens this year. Fluery kept them in the game. There must have been a half dozen blind passes give-awaysthat lead to great scoring opportunites. This game was bad and on Saturday, they bettershow up and compete. I would sit a couple regular players to make a point. Kennedy for one, needs a day off. Without Fluery, this could have been an 8 - 1 loss.
I have NHL Center Ice and Stegy and Errey are not as bad as some other teams announcers. Have you ever listened to the Bruins or Capital announcers. Talk about homers. I don't mind Stegy and Errey. I think most of the folks in Pittsburgh hate them more than the folks living away from the Burgh.
The Gunner says, "#4 passes it to #11, #11 passes to #19, he shots it off the Iron.
I would have loved Jordan Staal playing one more year with the Pens, but I know they would have received nothing in return after this year. Shero looked long term and got the best he could. From what I have seen so far Sutter does not have the same offensive or defensive ability as Jordan. He's just not as big and can't use his body to the same advantage as Jordan. Plus, Staal seemed to have a better scoring ability. But, I know trading him will allow the Pens to resign players like Geno and Lateng, but I hated to see him go.
The only mistake Shero made was having the 13 Mil in Cap space for this year. He should have signed a free agent for a one year high priced deal, since he knew he had the cap space. I realize there was not much out there last summer in talent, but now they have 13 mil that is not being used.
At this point, the Pens need to make a move to trade for a shutdown defender and one top six forward. It will cost then at least one 1st round pick and probably one of their promising defenders, but it has to be done. They did it five years ago for trading for Gill and Hossa. But without that deal, the Pens would have probably not made the finals two years in a row.
