I think that the weight of water in a lot of items adds to the cost in terms of both money and the environment.

I'm very excited about Truvia baking blend. I love to bake but want to reduce our overall sugar.

I think that poverty is the conversation we need to be having about every community in the US, and we are not having it. We have horrible economic inequality in this country with huge numbers of people living below a "poverty level" that is set impossibly low already. What stops the conversation? "Black people are either "lazy"" or "they are not as smart"---we can see how they are poor. "Illegal Immigrants like their low-paying work, and besides they are illegal"-- they deserve to be poor...or worse. "Single mothers got themselves into their situations"---sluts. "The myth of gay affluence" is another one--"Gays are rich, we don't need to worry about them." On and on. Meanwhile, real economic opportunity and living support are being sucked away from almost all of us. As long as they can keep us separated ("they" being the 1%, the corporations, the banks, the military) mostly using shame and jealousy and hate, then we do not *demand* equality and justice--either economic or otherwise.
My favorite is a Starbuck's stainless steel mug. I've had it forever, and it has been confiscated by my husband. Now I need one :) I agree with you abut "going green" gradually. We started a few years ago and have made a lot of progress by just substituting or eliminating one thing at a time.

I like the "How to Install a Water Filtration System"--this is something we will be needing when we move soon.
