@Mike Petriello @TrolleyDodger hell, I'm still stuck on Do the Giants win if Cueto's oblique doesn't implode in Game 1, stage
@Cecil Terwilliger watch nothing happen and the Dodgers win 2 of 3 in Milwaukee, or even sweep...and then everything will be ok, at least until the next losing streak
@Disgruntled Goat @Frank J Lapidus @EephusBlue @Purple Drank @scareduck Actually I guess it depends on who Beane flipped him for a year later. I forgot. But Bradley played pretty damn well for a couple years after that trade
@EephusBlue @Purple Drank @scareduck which did work out well at the time, no?
@Disgruntled Goat @Purple Drank hah, I just got downtown Utrecht in geoguesser...what a coincidence
@Disgruntled Goat the corpse of Bobby Cox aint so bad
@moneynow27 @EephusBlue @Baby Blue he's under the bus, the wheels are spinning and the gears are grinding
@Disgruntled Goat @EephusBlue he should've taken that job with the Red Sox.
@Baby Blue the problem I have with the 'who's better?' mantra, is that it's either prominently figured or tossed aside, depending on what narrative you support. Back when Torre was running things and most wanted him gone, no one was saying that shit. Therefore, I don't take stock in it and yes, I like Mattingly. There's plenty of reasons to let him go and there's plenty of reasons to keep him.
However, in the final analysis, we have to ask ourselves why this team is not performing for him and hasn't done so even going back to late last year.
@IBBFTW @Frank J Lapidus I miss Manny Ramirez, the still good, juiced version
@IBBFTW @Frank J Lapidus @EephusBlue since then, they have played every NL West opponent, and gotten kicked around by each one. No, there's proof of course, but almost everyone to a T puts the dividing line to this season right at that time.
@IBBFTW @EephusBlue I've had my secret, unproven, unsubstantiated theory that losing Greinke that way really messed with their heads. In a 'we just took out your star FA pitcher, what're you gonna do about it, bitch' kinda way. And the subsequent sweep of the Dodgers by the Pads in the very next series illuminated to all exactly what they were going to do about it...roll over and die. I think the NL West took notice, and it's been downhill ever since.
Well, that's all I got. Feel free to disagree, I would certainly like to be wrong but I don't think I am.
So I was watching Mad Men while waiting for my Game of Thrones and I noticed Mike's question below. I think that episode was basically Don Draper needing to get laid.
5/19/13 Eric at TBLA says thusly "Stick a fork in the 2013 Dodgers. They are dead."
I don't think he was joking
@LakerDodger24 @Frank J Lapidus @Deuce I would do it, but would the Marlins?
@Jobu then Puig and Hanley, see if Stripling or Zach Lee can fill the 5th SP slot, and bullpen arms can be had for not too much.
...Once Ned is fired.
@LakerDodger24 @Morry Kinsler may be an option. I could see a pickup of Lee and Utley or Rollins combo...300m payroll hee
@Deuce @Frank J Lapidus not an option for me, either, and I don't think Kasten will tell 31k new season ticket holders to fuck off, so here we are. I think Cliff Lee is a real possible candidate.
@LakerDodger24 @Frank J Lapidus @WestonTaylor (Sarcasm abounds) Well, Cliff Lee is actually one of them. How about Steve Cishek for a bullpen arm?
