@Julius F Wrek I agree back to back games being up by 16 and losing come on. Portland is a good team but Brooklyn is a joke they are the fifth worst team in the eastern conference. but it comes down to the fourth quarters of each game they don't execute, they keep bunching up and the defense is pathetic. Durant also has been a no show in the 4th quarters of the last 2 games. It is like they compete for the first three quarters get a huge lead and then stop playing the whole fourth quarter. this is a shame I know its early but with no westbrook the more loses will mean less possibility Durant will win the MVP award.

@Oklahoma City thunder for the win
i have trouble putting durant second after these playoffs. he choked in the fourth quarters every game. westbrook should be second seeing that durant loves to defer to him. westbrook is batman durant has become robin.
1 year, 9 months ago on Exit Interviews: KD don’t give a damn
this is how i look at this series with westbrook injured and out memphis had the better team overall but durant skill and talent wise was the best player on the floor . but i lost alot of repect for durant after this series especially in the fourth quarters of just about every game even dating back to the houston series he just never showed up. each game was only seperated by a few points so its not like memphis was blowing the thunder out and all okc needed was for durant to be more aggressive and score more in the fourth but he couldnt close any of these last four games out. mentally i dont know where his head is at, to me westbrook is batman and durant is happy being robin. durants a waste of talent he sits back to much.
nothing against durant but he needs to bulk up add about 20 pounds this offseason because in this series and just like last years finals he gets pushed around so much. he is like a stick out there its so easy for defensive teams to stop him. also where did he go in the fourth quarters of these playoffs had a few scoreless 4th quarters and a lot of 2 point quarters i thought he was suppose to be the best closer in the game he completely didnt in this series. thunder management has a alot to think about this offseason id let k-mart go useless, get rid of perkins doesnt play defense and just fouls anyone near him. if the team can be hurt by one guy going down then they need to build a deeper team.
1 year, 9 months ago on OKC’s season ends early as Memphis moves on, 88-84
i want to clear something up about the fourth quarter of last game and how durant went scoreless. ive seen people saying he was tired and exhasuted well if a 34 year old kobe can play 48 minutes a night then why cant a 24 year old durant play a ton of minutes and still be effective. secondly many have pointed out how durant was double teamed and sometimes triple teamed yes he was in the second and in the 3rd where he was playing out of his mind with 18 points but if you watch the fourth quarter he was mostly single covered by garcia and stopped attacking and tried to be a point forward. he is the best scorer in the game the fourth is where you need him as a closer. zero points arent going to cut it. im all for getting his teammates involved but everyone could tell his teammates didnt show up.

last game was just awful, besides the bad pick and roll defense or there offensive sets i just think about how uninspired the whole team looked besides durant last game and even he kinda gave up in the fourth quarter. thats not a good sign going into tonights game it almost looks like the thunder have thrown in the towl. the rockets are getting stronger as the series has gone on. think about how even just to start last game the thunder seemed like they were always 10 or 12 points behind and thats at okc. there just didnt seem much fight in this team last game very disapointing if your a thunder fan.
1 year, 10 months ago on Friday Bolts – 5.3.13
@fireBrooks @bobmcgraw i understand what your saying but thats an excuse, if he was more aggressive going to the rim he would of gotten guys like garcia and parsons in foul trouble because they would of had to foul him just to stop him. but I honestly didnt see him attacking at all in the fourth the way he did in the first 3 its just how do you go from 18 point in the third and then put up zero points when your team needs you the most. being tired is an excuse the great ones always find a way like jordans flew game. he has to get it done even if he is tired.
Its definately panic time. the last 2 games have been painful to watch. the pick and roll defense is just awful parsons gets to the rim at will, nobody seems to even attempt to box out asik. brooks has to change his lineups because perkins is just useless he doesnt rebound, block shots or even play good sound defense he just fouls every houston player that get near him. what happened to durant in the fourth quarter? he was playing perfect basketball through 3 quarters 36 points and didnt score a single point. As shaq pointed out on inside the nba after the game durant gave up on his team at the end of the 4th quarter by standing around on the perimeter behind garcia he wasnt attacking the rim and only took those 5 shots but those were at the end of the shot clock when they had no other option for anyone to shoot. i lost alot of repect for durant after last game he is my favorite player but after having 36 through 3 he could of had 50 points and atleast given his team a chance to win but he just stopped trying. I understand trusting your teammates but when none of them are hitting their jumpshots and your the best scorer on the planet (yes thats including carmelo anthony) it was his time to take the game over and he just gave up. i couldnt see kobe doing that, jordan, bird or anyone else go scoreless in the 4th quarter of a big game he has to be more aggressive.
durant has to stop trying to be like lebron and flirt with triple doubles and just play his game. his game is scoring there is no way he should be the third best scorer in this game on the team.
2 years ago on Harden torches the Thunder as OKC collapses, 122-119
after last nights game i think its obvious that after this season the thing durant should work on next is bulking up in the offseason. he just gets pushed around against the heat they play him more physical then most team. if he goes in the post more next season it will help. he is just way too skinny. 6-11 inches tall should be atleasst 245 or more lbs.
2 years ago on Heat break Thunder hearts again, 110-100
i like how everyone but the coach knows that the best way to beat the heat is to go small with durant at the 4 yet he keeps trying to play perkins. thats like doing the same ing over and over and expecting different results. losing 6 times to the heat since the finals and only winning once isnt working out to well.
the thunder choke against the heat evrytime, Durant just handed the MVP over for the third season to lebron it must get old getting beat by lebron and heat. eventually youd think theyd learn how to do something different against them. no excuses they started slow every game in the finals there is no excus for that they know its a big game. these kinda games its hard to be a thunder fan bonehead mistakes game after game. Durant has to be better he is playing like crap lately get it together man. westbrook is a headcase ready to loose it at any moment they arent winning a title anytime soon thats for shure.
well KD just lost another MVP to lebron because of tonights game. 0 and 2 versus the heat this season way to go thunder you are really showing them how you improved from las seasons loss in the finls NOT. they are choking massively in this game.
2 years ago on Heat vs. Thunder: Pregame Primer
first off no i dont believe the MVP will be decided tonight. but if the heat win it will be in lebrons favor, seeing how he is playing at a historic pace scoring 30 ppg at 60 percent shooting from the field over the last 6 games then put in the fact that durant would be 0 and 2 against lebron wouldnt look good on his MVP resume. Durant has been in a little funk lately i know they blew a few teams out and he didnt play in the 4th but he was on such a great streak scoring and he has come back down big time. secondly i still dont see the thunder beating the heat its not a good match up. the thunder has to many holes in there defense and when they start turning the ball over the game is finished. here is one stat ill put out there dating back to last season regular and playoffs the heat are 6 and 2 against the thunder . its starting to get in OKCs head like they know they cant beat the heat. the heat play small and the thunder try to play big but perkins is so useless he does nothing positive out there. brooks has to change his game plan because trying the same thing over and over and expecting different result is just dumb.
2 years ago on 3-on-3: Thunder versus Heat
I dont totally agree with the writers opening paragraph. Yes kyrie plays for cleveland and no one really cares much except cavs fans but it sounded like he was making excuses for the thunders defense tonight, like they didnt know who kyrie irving is. Rookie of the year last year, two weeks ago was the eastern conference player of the week averaging 35 points a game and just recently voted in as an all-star reserve so unless you have been living under a rock it be hard to not see what kyrie has been doing lately.
2 years ago on Kyrie Irving, Cavs overcome Thunder 115-110
i watched the entire game, three things really hurt the thunder in this game
1) has to be the turnovers. i think it was in the second quarter the thunder turned the ball over 3 times in a row and the warriors scored. even in the 4th quarter to many guys trying to be unselfish and making bad pass after another.
2) brooks rotations tonight were horrible i think he sat durant way to much,. way too much perkins to, he is painful to watch he had so many fouls in such a short amount of time on the floor.
3) westbrooks shot obviously last night wasnt there and he just kept firing away especially down the stretch. he has to pass the ball do other things when your jumper isnt there. his stat line from last night 3 for 16 from the field only 4 assits and 6 turnovers just terrible.
what makes this loss sting is the thunder had the lead toward the end of the 4th and just handed the game over. one more thing i thought their pick and roll defense was pretty bad it got old watching lee, landry or whoever rolling to the hoop and making baskets right under the rim. they have to defend the 3 alot better this team with curry, thompson,, barnes and jack can all shoot the lights out. last thought is even tho durant had a good game i think he needed to be more agressive down the strecth on offense. most of his points especially in the fourth were from the foul line he was getting double teamed alot and tried making a pass that some of the time resulted in a turnover. durant had 6 turnovers last night he is going to have to get to a point and stop playing so nice with everyone and just demand the ball and takeover.
2 years, 1 month ago on Thunder slip late to the Warriors, 104-99
on the mvp thing durant should of won it last year and if it goes to lebron again this season then the award is rigged. micheal jordan was the best in the 90's but didnt win it every year, but everyone knew he could. karl malone won it twice, hakeem won it once as did david robinson. shaq only one once and he was the most dominant player of his generation. I personally think durant is better then lebron the only clear advantage lebron has is passing and his defense. lebron is a little bigger weight wise but durant is taller then lebron 6'11 to 6'8..
lets look at their numbers
lebron 26.3 ppg, 8.1 rebounds and 7 assists 55 field goal percentage 40 percent from 3 and only 73 percent at the foul line.
now durant 29.5 ppg, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists. 516 field goal percentage, 41 percent from 3 and 91 percent from the foul line.
and durants team has a 32-9 record to lebrons 26 and 12. also durant lately has been playing at an even higher level then early this season and if he continues to play like this and the thunder end up with the best or second best record in the league he should win it.

i wish durant played like this every game. he just seemed so much more aggressive then usual. if he plays like this for the rest of the season he should win MVP. i thought he should of won it last season, but hopefully this will be the year he wins and also gets a ring. does anyone else agree he nees to display a little more of a nasty/mean streak and just take over and stop waiting for everyone else? i get whats he is doing but in a way he seems to be holding back at times.

after watching the thunder lately, it seems as if durant is deferring too much to everyone else on the team. I'am all for trying to stay within the flow of the offense and making things work with the team. but he at some point is going to have to stop being mister nice guy and just say give me the ball and everyone get out of the way. he is the most natural scorer in the league, why is westbrook and ibaka shooting more then him? yes perkins is awful get him off this team.

the problem for the thunder is not the offense its their defense.those last 8 minutes or so they made so many mistakes,on their defensive assignments. no talking, just pointing fingers,at one another every time the heat scored.the team doesnt look like everyone is on the same page on the defensive end.yes the officiating was bad,but you cant blame it all on that.the thunder has to change their game plan against the heat, because the last time i looked, the heat have won five consecutive games against the thunder.
2 years, 2 months ago on Thunder come up short again in Miami, 103-97
first off i remeber a few years back nba experts predicted the portland trailblazers were setup to be a dynasty and take after the spurs. with there big three brandon roy, lamarcus aldridge and greg oden. but seeing how oden never played a full season and brandon roy has since retired there is no telling what the future holds, its a little early to talk about a dynasty. but the thunder are set up for the next 10 years to contend for titles, but only time will tell if they are good enough to win rings or bring more heartache to the city and its fans. first order of business is to improve on defense. after the lakers were destroyed in the nba finals in 2008 to boston they knew they had to improve on the defensive end and preached defense the next year thats what the thunder must do. they need to start holding guys accountable more missed assingments and bad help defense . but it is amazing this group is already in the nba finals at such a young age. you look at micheal jordan he didnt get to his first finals til he was 28 durant and westbrook are only 23 years old. they have time on there side but they must improve everywhere next season because the fact is that miami are champs and that team is signed on for 3 more years which means if the thunder are to get back to the finals they are probably going to have to play the heat again.

no way cousins has a terrible attitude.he is talented but he is somewhat a head case. i think the thunder should get rid of fisher. maybe sign jeff green back if he is healthy . he can play the 4 or the 3 when durant goes to the bench or gets in foul trouble. other then that the team is fine offensively they can score on anyone in the league. but its on defense they need the most improvement. i remember 2 years ago the team was talking defense all the time, i think lately they got away from that and try to outscore teams to much. they need to concentrate on defense one on one, zone and help defense needs to be better.
2 years, 8 months ago on Tuesday Bolts - 6.26.12
i dont think phil jackson would be a good fit with the triangle offense he wants to slow it down too much and set up the offense. where as the thunder like to get out and run. jeff van gundy would be a good fit and an upgrade over brooks plus he is a defense first coach which would help this team in that area. he had alot of sucess in new york where he coached the team to the finals and recently with the rockets with tracy mcgrady and yao ming even tho they didnt win a title they were good defensive teams.
2 years, 8 months ago on Presti calls the Phil Jackson/Van Gundy rumors ‘rubbish’
i think first off the thunder need a new defensive coach. what they were doing in the first three rounds worked but they had to many holes in the defense in the the finals. brooks should of mixed it up, if you look at last years champs dallas they were able to defend one on one and also go to a zone at times and the thunder mostly played man in the finals which got durant in foul trouble. as far as the team i dont think they should just stay put. let fisher go i thought he was done 2 years ago, he has experience which i know gets repect but at this stage of his career he is a total liabilty on defense. i wouldnt mind if the thunder went for garnett this offseason sign him for 1 year would help. keep maynor, maybe go for ray allen another shooter cant hurt. i think perkins is somewhat a liabilty at times on D he is to slow and doesnt get as many rebounds or block shots like you would think. other then that they just need more time, better offensive execution. maybe play russ more at the off guard instead of point, i think he is a great player but did jack up too many ill advised shots or try to drive to the net against 3 or 4 defenders when he had durant calling for the ball.

this team completely choked in the finals. there is no way around it. they just never showed up and gave up when it got physical. they have alot of work to do if they are going to become champs eventually. they played with no heart or fight these last few games. just a pitiful finals. durant needs to bulk up he got pushed around all series long ,thats why he was crying it was like the school bully stole his lunch money.
2 years, 8 months ago on The Thunder’s top 20 plays from the playoffs
this team is done, they pretty much gave up these last few games, i cant be proud of that. there is no heart / fight in this team. they just let lebron get to the net at will all series long, when is this team gonna toughen up? when james or wade go to the net put them on there ass. i dont like that people are saying this group is young and will have many more chances. you never know whats gonna happen, durant or russ could get hurt, or some huge trade could change the landscape of the western conference like if dwight goes to the lakers. you look at the greats that got to the finals and lost and never won a ring, barkely, malone, stockton, iverson. they should of played smarter more focused, the first 2 games they were down huge they just never played a full game in this series. thats what makes you wonder if they have what it takes after seeing them pretty much choke are they gonna improve or is this the best they got? all i know is that was a pitiful performance in these finals.
that was a weak performance. they choked in the finals. they never played a full 48 minute game this entire series. who is the defensive coach? because he should be fired they played no defense and allowed the heats big 3 to all get their numbers and even the heats bench/role players were starting to go off on the thunder terrible series. everyone thought the thunder had a good chance to win the finals but now that the series is over it looks like they had no business being there in the first place.also the thunder had a chance to deny lebron his ring and failed. this also hurts the durant vs lebron debate because durant played very poorly this series. i know he averaged 30 a game in the finals but he got pushed around alot wasnt aggressive enough going to the basket instead of driving more to get the heat in foul trouble. mostly he just stood out on the perimeter and took jump shots all series, and his overall stats werent very good he didnt rebound very much and his assists fell way down compared to what he was doing in the first three rounds. he also needs to learn how to play some defense because it was terrible just mostly fouling people. in game 5 did anyone notice how many 3's miller made while being guarded by durant? alot. harden was a non factor. brooks was outcoached in this series and has he ever heard of a zone defense? try it next season. almost every team in the league goes back and forth during games between man to man and the zone but the thunder mostly played man to man and it got there stars in foul trouble. he never made any adjustements from game to game, and he had no defensive plan to atleast make james work for his points. ya durant should be crying because he was just pitiful. please put on some weight he needs to add some 20 to 30 pounds or else he is just going to keep getting pushed around. what is there to be proud of they had a chance for a ring and failed plan and simple. you dont go though the entire season get into the playoffs go through the last three teams to dominate the western conference in titles and just choke and give up in the finals as a fan i have nothing to be proud of. losing is losing there isnt much to be upbeat about they just plan sucked. they have alot to work on this offseason and there were so many wholes in the teams defense it was a joke they were there.

2 years, 8 months ago on Thunder at Heat: Game 5 Pregame Primer
its over! its sad to say because i picked the thunder to win, but they just havent played a full 48 minute game yet in the finals. they play maybe 3 quarters and expect to win, also why doesnt brooks go to a zone defense ? he tries man to man all game long but his players are getting into foul trouble . he needs to mix it up boston goes from man to man to zone during games. dallas used the zone in last years finals, it works. but back to the teams defense it just hasnt been good enough to get the job done, they are allowing james, wade and bosh to get there numbers and now there roll players are starting to make shots. since perkins serves no purpose at this point why doesnt he give a hard foul on lebron and take him out and show him what a real foul is. last game durant looked like he knows its over and they cant beat this team, he played almost like he just wants this series to be over, it was a very uninspired game by him. the heat are being physical with him and you can tell its effected him he is getting pushed around by james and battier this is why he needs to bulk up and get stronger and add 20 to 30 pounds on him, he is too skinny. has anyone else noticed his overall numbers are going down each game i mean last game only 3 rebounds and 2 assists from him thats not gonna get it done. harden has been a none facter lets face it, this is why this offseason he should re sign with the thunder and this finals should prove he isnt a max player. only 10 points a game in the finals coming from averaging 17 during the regular season and 3 rounds of playoffs. westbrook i think has played great but still i would rather have him play the shooting guard spot then running the point he just jacks up to many attempts and honestly he shouldnt be shooting more then kevin durant . its a shame because looking at the teams it looked like the thunder were better on paper but this series has been hard to watch. plus the officiating has been so lopsided but thats not the main issue the thunder are losing but still lebron james only 1 foul a game and durant 5 fouls there is something wrong there especially when lebron is playing thug ball. but after watching this series the thunder have a long way to go, they need to improve evrywhere.
