I laughed so hard @ the Ivan Johnson section. We have some connections with Pacers, Bolan ( I think that's his name) and Jeff Ayres. Hopefully Granger can see that and sign with us and not a contender.

ERSANNNNNNNNN! Man, we would be the team to beat with either one of them. Ersan is a GREAT shooter in the Spurs system. Because of how the bucks play, he is force to shoot dribble ups.

@LiveSpurs False false false. I wasn't going to comment but this was ridiculous. How did Duncan make Parker and Manu stars?? They call them the BIG 3 for a reason. The years Duncan wasn't able to contribute like he wanted because of knee problems, Manu took over and dominate and became of one of the top 3 guards in the league. He was unstoppable in his prime. Then he got injured and Parker slowly but steady became a force to be reckoned with.

How you going to say they are Hall of Famers but only because of Duncan. Wouldn't that void everything they did?

I laugh how everyone come here and talk bout how bad Blair is and blah blah and other bullshit. And he shown he improved a lot over the summer. Jumper, Defense and all. Blair is a good player and he's still putting up good numbers when he play consistent minutes.

@Spursfan66  @CraigThomas The ONLY thing Diaw is better than Blair is shooting and passing and an high bball IQ. Other than that what does he have on Blair???

Blair has energy, actually jumps to grab rebounds, hustles, steals, athleticism, post defense, offensive rebounds...care to go on?

Diaw isn't the same young star he was in Phoenix. Faried better than Blair? That ISNT a FACT. That's just your opinion.  Put Faried vs Blair in a game where they have the same amount of minutes playing against each other and we'll see who comes out better overall.

What did Tiago have to whine about?? He wasn't a starter for most of his career on the Spurs, or Mills or CJ. Say what you want but any person that started and all of a sudden just get benched during playoff time is going to be like, why?

1 year, 11 months ago on The DeJuan Dilemma

Reply

@Spursfan66 His bball IQ isn't low, where do you get this information?? Actually, Blair defense isn't bad. Diaw defense is worse than Diaw. Wow, like other players on the Spurs team shots doesn't get blocked. So that means 90% of his shot doesn't? Right.

Blair average's 8pts - 6 boards for this career stats. Don't forget that there are four other bigs who got playing with Blair. So you think he really couldn't score two more point and grabbed for more rebounds in an extra 10 minutes a game??

Duncan and Blair had as good thing going, their chemistry and they knew each other tendencies which made them a good pair.

Of course Blair isn't going to put up the same numbers as his rookie season if he doesn't get the same CONSISTENT minutes he had then. His rookie season, he had lots of minutes where he could show his talent.

People seem to forget that, when Blair get's the same amount of minutes each game, he is a double - double machine. Yes, Blair fugged up and ending up in the doghouse, and the minute he did, that's when Tiago started to come into form. Once Pop seems something working and we're winning, he doesn't change the lineups so Blair didn't get a chance to play then.

Then Blair came back and did what he did best and we went on a remarkable winning streak with him in the starting C and with consistent minutes and then Pop decided he wanted Diaw to start cause Diaw made a few amazing passes and thought it worked better that way.

Blair worked hard season to get more playing time. He does have a jumpshot but it's not consistent yet. He does HAVE post moves. Don't know what games you've been watching but clearly, everyone here seems to look at Blair - than his + .

No one can argue when Blair get's consistent minutes, he's a walking double-double and we win a HUGE percentage of our games.

@Spursfan66 His size is what helped him become a beast down low. Remember when he got drafted by us. They said he is undersized, but this weight makes him big down low. That weight made him able to box out people and snag rebounds. Yes, he messed up his sophomore year, but that doesnt mean he didnt do good this year.

Think about it. If he did learn to form a jumper and just imagine if he tried to shoot it in a game and missed it. Pop would yell at him for attempting to do it, even if he got lessons. People forget it takes BIG men several years to find their game, they just dont got out of nowhere and become a star player, unless you was a star in college. Look how long it took Marc Gasol.

His rebounding went down because we had got Splitter. We got more people who could rebound so of course you will see a drop, but when he gets the playing time, he produces!

I see DB block out almost every game he play in, where do you see him not doing that. And he good defensively on rebounds and his strong one is his offensive rebounds.

How is saying I can relate to Tim Tebow whining. That doesnt make sense to me. How would you FEEL if you was starting and for the whole season, team go on a long streak with you still starting then the first playoff game, benched.

That would take a HUGE shot at your confidence. I still think DB should of played against OKC because Diaw got exposed in Game 3.

I hate how people always come here and bash DB. He isnt fat, if you follow him, youll know he shed a lot of pounds and is in shape. Hes also working on his jumper too. DB is a great player and he showed it when he played and had the minutes. He will get better, trust me. And you will see when they play OKC and if DB plays, watch him work.

@CraigThomas JA did do a good job on him, were you watching the game close enough I watched it just couple hours ago and the only time Jenkins got the good looks was because of a screen or he happened to get open. One on one, JA did his part. He didn't ask for a trade, he just have a outspoken agent that said that. You know how agents gets when their players isn't getting much time on the court.

Did they ask Anderson did he wanted to be traded? No, and you can tell cause he WANTS to stay in SA. Cut twice, and playing in the D-League gives you that extra motivation to do good cause you want to make it to the NBA. Much like Jeremy Lin and Green. JA got hurt his rookie season, wasn't the same when he return and that's why he lost minutes cause why break up something that's winning. Common sense. I believe he should return, he has tremendous potential and with good minutes he can show that, like he did the last two games of the season.

Also Blair comes supeerrrrr cheap. There is no other big that I know of that comes that cheap and does what he does. Spurs always find players that they know will be good players and they come cheap. Just imagine the cap space we'll have once our stars leave or sign for less money.

But going for Scola now would be too risky cause their are other teams that are playoff teams that has the money to get him. Unless he doesnt care about the money and we get him, perfect. Send bonner to the D-League for all I care lol. I just don't see no one in the free agent roster hat knows the Spurs players tendencies, where they like their shots and has chemistry of the team that Blair already has.

Then what happens IF we amnesty Bonner & waived Blair and Neal. And we STILL don't get Scola. Neal and Blair isn't going to want to sign with us anymore. And we lost key rotational players.

Yes, we can sign demon which I like and A big from our stash of gems, but how many years to you take for them to get comfortable, know the tendencies and already have the chemistry.

It's better safe than sorry/.

Honestly though, we didn't lose against OKC because we didn't have a big man to protect the rim, and we all know it. Blair didn't even play then so we can blame him. Blame Pop and Stern cause Pop overacted and didn't trust his players.

But Blair isn't bad as people make him. I see Blair turning into a Milsap type of players in a few years, don't forget it takes big men time to find their game, their not like guards.

Chuck Hayes is a 6'6 center and he was a starter LOL. Blair is wayyyyy better than Chuck Hayes. But the point is, I like Blair cause he brings that toughness we need and attitude. Jax, brings toughness, Blair brings it and Manu. Whose else brings that? Bonner is a good season person but I think bonner mins should be limited in the playoffs and play Blair more. Blair does practice if you ever follow him on Twitter, he's in the gym and on the court ever day, working on his jumper and defense.  So he's not the same WhatABurger Blair.

Height is overly overrated. I mean it plays it parts but give Blair one more chance. I would HATE for Blair to go to another team what ends up in the WCF or Finals and hand it to our ass with double doubles and beat us. That would be embarrassing.  Cause what player has the size to stop Blair that's on our team.  No one.

If anything, just take Bonner away not Blair. While Bonner gone, we can get a legit big man hopefully Ryan Richards but keeping blair is insurance and also a liability. It's a long season and our stars will be one year older. Blair will eat those mins up and also wants those mins.

@Spursfan66  @rtesoro440 Yeah that's true but the problem is that "he's getting older". He's not going to be quick enough to be a threat. Sure, he can stay in the paint but the Spurs run an up-tempo style of play now than the Mavs, would he be able to keep up? But if he comes cheap and leaves us with leftover money to sign another big then go for it.

@ajd21 Haha, somebody had to post it! But yeah, I mean he could have been great if he was healthy in his prime but he "passed" on us, so why bother.  There's are more talented big man out there that's younger and can contribute nicely. We don't need a big scorer, just a big body that can move well, has a list of minor injuries or none and can play defense and rebound.

Finally! Now people can stop saying "pls get Kaman over here" . He's injury prone anyway and older, he's not going to help us out that much. Anyway, where ever you go Kaman, Kawhi Leonard will still dunk on you again & again.

Right. That's what I never get when they bring these late 20s years olds like 28 and 29 when we're trying to get younger with young legs. Sure he's only averaging those numbers with limited minutes, but he's 20 and can grow into a decent dominate big man. He can shoot, handle the ball. WAY better upgrade than Bonner and I bet he comes cheap too.
