It has had that ability to open a separate window for composing email for years now. But what they have done now has given its users a better user experience. The same as they are providing better security by implementing other new features, one of which is the most important, Two-Step Authentication which allows us to telesign into our accounts. I know some will claim this make things more complicated, but the slight inconvenience each time you log in is worth the confidence of knowing your info is secure.

Thanks for the article. We all need to be more proactive about our personal account security.  To me Google is showing that they are concerned about security and that is why I prefer their services. I use Two-Factor Authentication across a lot of my accounts. I feel a lot more secure when I can telesign into my account. If you want to compete this is a prerequisite to any system that wants to promote itself as being secure.

Thanks for the article. We all need to be more proactive about our personal account security. One thing I am glad you mentioned is taking advantage of the 2FA (2-Factor Authentication). Although it’s been around for a while, more and more sites are starting to offer and promote this option. 2-Factor Authentication for banking wins every day. I feel suspicious when I am not asked to telesign into my account by way of 2FA, it just feels as if they are not offering my sites enough protection. I know some will claim this make things more complicated, but the slight inconvenience each time you log in is worth the confidence of knowing your info is secure. This should be a prerequisite to any system that wants to promote itself as being secure.

Don’t settle for anything less the Two-factor authentication. I have two-step authentication on my email and I like the extra security it offers.  You just telesign into your account and it’s good to go. I'm hoping that more companies start to offer this awesome functionality. In reality this should be a prerequisite to any system that wants to promote itself as being secure. I think this is the type of wake-up call that many need to kick this complacent attitude about authentication and passwords. There continues to be the need for more preventative measures to be put in place. For example many of the leading web hosting providers are giving users the perfect balance between security and user experience by implementing 2FA which allows us to telesign into our accounts. But they don't take advantage of it because they say the verification process makes things more complicated, but the slight inconvenience each time you log in is worth the confidence of knowing your site(s) are secure.  I'm hoping that more providers start to offer this awesome functionality. This should be a prerequisite to any system that wants to promote itself as being secure.
