TV just does not do this sport justice. In your last shot, i had no idea Eau Rouge swung that far round to the right. @LastPilot the 2000GT was on a Top Gear special on James Bond cars last week. I forget which film this car was in. I don't recal ever seeing or hearing about this car before (I'm quite young though) which is a shame, apparently they fetch big figures (£250'000).

I feel car magazines are tend to look for the most complete car, in the magazines I read, i dont see cars like I see on here, (i.e rat rods and the like) perhaps i dont read the right magazine's, but no magazines have the same variaty as on here (ok, so they have target audiance's). But i dont want to look at hundreds of "VW's", or "Fast Fords", or "Total Vauxhall". Everything on here is just about right. That said, we dont see many vauxhall's or Ford's on here (the daily drivers, so to speak). There are some tastfully modified.

More great coverage Jonathon, And very well explained for those unsure of the new rules and class structures.

Do you (or anyone) have any idea how fast the RWD cars (0-60)?

The last pic of Frank Wrathall in the Evensis is excellant, Why no High res? But yet another brilliant season of fast close racing from the BTCC. You should be sent to every race meeting Jonathan.

Follow the link for a brilliant Matt Neal & Jason Plato face off at Rockingham, Not for young ears though.

Sneaky is, and always will be in motorsport, it separates great cars from good cars (or bikes).

e.g. Red Bull in F1 with their exhaust blown diffusers. Of course people are also sneaky enough to copy these ideas. Thats why engineers are always looking for something new.

Yep, thats right. In years past, they reversed the top 8 from Race 1 results, but some drivers running (lets say) 4th would drop back on the last lap to 8th, so they started on pole for race 2 and maximised there chance's, so there were tactics involved as well.

Fair enough, but both Ford drivers were very competitive in the BTCC last year and their not doing great, but OK there's is a new chassis thats yet to be tune'd fully. Just shows that the competition is tough.

I was watching the BTCC at the weekend, It is unreal how the BMW's sit down at the lights, it is quite comical really (Rob Collard has got it down to a T)

But as with both series, other competitors just tend to nudge the back of the BMW's when they are struggling to get past. (it really bugs me that Jason Plato does this and then moans like a big girl when someone does it to him)

I thought it was the top 8 from qualifiying that get reversed.

The problem is that the 3 factory Chevy's are all capable of winning both races regardless of reversed grids. They dont really have much competition. Tarquini's Seat is just a little old now i think.

Just wondering what he could do with other machiery. on a evo, or scooby perhaps. that would be cool to see.

im quite supprised how much power is lost through the transmission, never new it was such a large percent, about 20%ish.

By comparison, and in the dry, a BTCC car laps Brands in 48.210 in qualifying spec. A DTM cars laps in 41.266 in quali spec. Any suggestions for a F1 car? im sure i remember reading, the old turbo's did over 200mph over the line, before being hard!! on the brakes (comming down clearways though)

I have to agree with others, these cars do look awesome. Are we do a spotlight on Romain Levesque CRX? al that power in such a small car.

In the UK a bog standard 1000cc mini would cost a fortune to insure (were talking £1500), so how does this guy afford to insure this?

It is a really nice car and a good coversion, but i have seen conversions like this before (but by no means often) and wilder versions as well.
